What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Breakfast - 2 boiled eggs and 20g cheese

Lunch - 2 fried eggs, 2 rashers of bacon and a side salad at cafe round the corner from work

Dinner - second batch of home made burgers with onion, feta, tomato and spinach; broccoli with butter and 1 square of Lindt 85%. The same meal had a rise of just 0.3 mmols last night - magic chocolate keeping levels down?!

I use a Portobello mushroom as a half 'bun' with a burger. I keep meaning to have a go at the Diet Doctor rolls. I know I couldn't eat that many carbs in one go now. Wonder if the lindt 90% would help on the back of it?
Didn't have the roll in the end nor any lunch. Just not hungry

@Chook we have the smoked haddock hot. I enjoyed the salad which was very simple, shredded iceberg lettuce, tiny pieces of cucumber, red pepper, yellow pepper, eschalion onion and pomegranate.

I've never thought about having it with salad. Thanks for the inspiration / suggestion. :)

Bratwurst? Th
I think it's a type of German sausage. I may be wrong but I'm sure hubby referred to them and he worked there for 3 years.
Bratwurst? If so it was VERY popular at the unit I used to work at.

Just checked BG at one hour - up by 3.3! Think they will be off the menu for a while ...

So have just swallowed two squares of Lidl 81% as no 90% or 85% in stock

BG at the two hour mark is 1.8 up - a little higher than I'd like - off to find the diet doctor burger recipe

Love that - magic chocolate

For breakfast - berries and yoghurt with flaxseed
Lunch - corned beef sandwich with bergen bread and a few nuts
Dinner - the diet doctor's low carb meat pie and green salad. (was really nice)
Had plenty of exercise mowing the lawns and gardening in the beautiful sunshine - all in all a pretty good day.

Evening everyone. Another good blood glucose day - on a bit of a roll this week. FBG 6.0, up to 6.6 before breakfast, then down to 5.0 before lunch and 4.5 before dinner.

Breakfast - 2 boiled eggs, 20g cheese

Lunch - salami, cheese and salad (baby spinach, rocket and baby plum tomatoes)

Dinner - seabass fillet fried in butter with a squeeze of lemon juice; sautéed courgette and onion; 2 squares of Lindt 85%

Well my good figures were over this morning but it is thanks to this flaming, awful cold and this time it isn't the grandsons to blame - it's hubby who has been carrying a bug for weeks. Bed on 7.1 dosed up on paracetamol and First Defence but my BG started to rise at 3am and reached a FBG of 8.5. Highest I got was 9.3 then the fall started so I've been worse. Still achy, coughing, hot but BG returned to 5.2. Hot shower coming up then new nightime attire

Suggested by @Brunneria for the grandsons but as I said not their fault. Anyway, breakfast

B. 2 boiled eggs, 1 tomato, lettuce, bit chicken, bacon bits and Helmanns.

L. Tassimo morning coffee and a dash of cream and a heck of a lot of water and paracetamol

D. Had to be quick so cauliflower rice, prawns, wild salmon, beansprouts , mushroom Stir fry and Thai red curry. I have enough for tomorrow as well.

Yes I did have 2 squares of 90% which started the turn from 9.3 - dropped 0.6 in 30 mins.

Hopefully good figures will return once I clear this latest dose of the dreaded lurgy.

who do you want to win?

@welovedzig ooh that's a hard question. I like all of the finalists this year but I would like to see Steve win. I like Salhia's personality and her food but she is a qualified. Doctor so would she be able to take full advantage of winning?? I think the series has been brilliant this year.

Evening.

Breakfast - skipped. Started the day at 5.3 and tested at the time I would normally test before breakfast and again 2 hours later: 5.8 and 5.5 respectively and down to 4.8 before lunch.

Lunch - regular Friday visit to Nando's. 5 plain wings with salad. Followed by a 20 minute walk.

Dinner - lamb chop with cauliflower with a bit of butter; final 2 squares of my Lindt 85%

For breakfast today - the usual berries, full fat yoghurt and flaxseed
Lunch was cheese omelette
Dinner was Dietdoctor recipe for Chicken Caesar Salad (second recipe I have tried from the website and it was delish!)

They are a really good bunch this year aren't they? Was sorry to see Anita leave, but great to see Steve back on top. Love Giovanna and Saliha too - hope they all do well tonight, I wouldn't like to have to choose.
