Feel for you and I have to report that the cream didn't work at all today. Sorting these early rises out is a real pain isn't it?!
Tell me about it I'm sick fed up with it. If someone comes up with a solution they should be worth a fortune. That was weird this morning when I only went up 0.1 with no breakfast and as I said the only difference was 45 mins at the physio. Solution to DP - torture ?

To be fair my legs and hips feel pretty good and it will last a few days thankfully.

Nothing to report for yesterday, but for breakfast this morning I had two big bügger mushrooms with grilled cheese.

Have given the two slice of bread a miss for breakfast.

Lovely food. :)

What did you think of the courgetti - I've only done it once and it came out so watery it's kind of put me off?

Scrambled egg with smoked salmon and mushrooms

Lidl roll with egg mayonnaise (being daring with the roll to see how the carb goes at lunchtime - could be handy for packed lunches)

Hairy Biker's sausage casserole with low carb sausage and beans on the side for hubby - I had adapted it for slimming world so not too much adaptation for LCHF - having it with cauli rice and a couple of celeriac chips

May or may not have a glass of wine with it
May or may not have my usual 8.45 pm 1/2 Lidl roll with avocado and smoked salmon

I basically chucked my courgetti in the wok with some butter for about 30 seconds and then served it - it's probably OK with a thickish sauce but otherwise definitely on the watery side

I made a courgetti carbonara that worked out well. Hubby was having regular carbonara and I just made the carbonara first then added the courgetti at the last minute to warm through which kept it 'al dente'

Yesterday
B: bacon and egg and a not-too-sweet cafe hot choc
L: tiny salad and a gluten free goat's cheese and red pepper tart - which was delicious. We had just been scrambling over a long, very rough and nearly vertical footpath dog walk, and I figured my bg needed the GF pastry, and my post-exercise lowered insulin resistance could cope. Too slow to kick in though, so I had a hot choc too, which hit the spot nice and quickly. Mr B had been starting to look worried. :) It has been quite frustrating this week without a bg meter, and going back to the old days of guesstimating reactive hypoglycaemia hypo risks. Exciting times... I suspect I have been running too high sometimes, mainly through too much 70% choc. Haha!
D: leftover dietdoc chicken and veg bake, with mustard and sour cream

Today
B: coffeesubstitute and cream
L: motorway burgerking, minus bun and only eating 6 chips. I could have eaten everything including the packaging, so I think I deserve mucho brownie points.
D: will be dietdoc baked fish and broccoli.

May try reducing my choc intake slowly, rather than trying to go cold turkey ;)

Back to normal food, normal eating times, and normal (lower) exercise levels now, plus access to bg testing. So back to reality. :)

Thanks @Chook :)

With courgetti I think it depends on the courgette and how you cook it trial and error. Sometimes fry in a wok on very high heat but for less than a minute or put in a colander and just pour boiling water over it to soften slightly. Link below hope it helps

Thank you for the link. I think I definitely over cooked it. I've got a spiralizer but never used it (I bought my courgetti ready spiralized from Asda) so I think I need to experiment with other veg. I like the sound of butternut squash noodles. :)

I have tried the ready made courgetti but found it very soggy compared to freshly spiralized. The first time I made it I cooked it like spaghetti it was like a soggy mush :banghead:. Butternut squash is on my shopping list for tomorrow haven't tried the noodles yet but will be having a go next week, I will let you know how it turns out.

Hello, I've been out in the garden all day today. Smashing. I was trying to garden gently so that I didn't further hurt my back so time will tell if I was successful.
B. Blackberries and yoghurt

L. Lauren's fluffy bun toasted, houmous and 1/2 slice of ham

D. Trout and ratatouille. Strawberries with yoghurt.

A pomegranate pot is under starters orders lol

Strange day. Bed on 8 up to 8.1 but pre breakfast got to 9.7. Came down as usual after breakfast and got to 6.6. Put it down to 6 year old grandson telling me He's being bullied again by the serial 6 year old bully. He will be dealt with next week as he is hurting girls now. Grandson has had a great day having got that off his chest
B. When I got to it was usual 2 scrambled eggs and 2 rashers crispy bacon. 2 button mushrooms and a change - wilted spinach.
L. Nothing
D. Oh joy - I still have the taste in my mouth. We have a brand new deli opened which makes a pleasant change to £ stores, bookies or charity shops. For a treat for Hubby I got him one of their steak, mushroom and ale pies and it looked fantastic. I resisted though but Hubby confirmed my thoughts.
For me I had an ostrich fillet which was wonderful with romain lettuce , Vittoria tomatoes, 1/2 boiled egg, 1/2 avocado and bacon bits with the usual Helmanns. What left the taste was the most fabulous cheeses from the deli - smoked Lancashire, Murcia al Vino - goats cheese infused with red wine and Prima Donna Maturo which is so so good. I carefully weighed out 1 oz of each but I may have to get more of the Prima Donna.
Joy to go into a place that takes such pride in their products.

Hubby is still enthusing about his pie.

Lunch. Cucumber, tomato, celery, 2 slices of ham some sour cream and chive dip.

Dinner. Cauliflower cheese with bacon and tomatoes.

No problems with BG after this so ok for a packed lunch if necessary :)

Think chopped tomatoes may be off the menu ... I had eaten all the other ingredients before but I'm up at 8.8 two hours later from 7.3. Of course it may be work related stress (about three reams of A4 paper to read and make sense of before next Thursday) but I assume wrestling with that would have raised my pre dinner level.

May or may not have a glass of wine with it

I need it! And it may help with the BGs!
