I have got my carbs down a fair bit by losing some foods and substituting others but am stopped by going further because I cant give up coffee. I effectively drink latte 3 times a day.
I have tried soya milk but it makes the coffee taste terrible. Oat milk is out so I have settled on 1/3 mug of espresso, and 1/3 mug of almond milk and 1/3 mug of whole fat milk which is around 6 carbs a time and I have 3 mugs a day. (And yes I have cut this down from 5 or 6 a day) So thats more than 18 carbs a day which is a big waste of carbs.
So I am wondering if anyone has any better solutions that they use. I find the thin milks like almond milk make the coffee too bitter (can be managed with stevia I suppose) but also too acidic to be enjoyable. I am wondering about cream and something or coffee creamers (never tried one). Any suggestions. At the moment, I drink water all day and only ever drink coffee as an alternative. Not a tea drinker either mainly because it feels acidic as an after taste so not specifically about the taste of tea. I dont know whether some kind of chai version might be ok.
