Confirmed again dairy makes me insulin resistant. Had a few bites at a party yesterday, less than an ounce, and popped up and insulin isn't doing its thing as usual. Again, one bad meal equals 3 bad days. I don't think it will be three but annoying anyway.
I too love mushrooms and onions. I eat a few pistachios and a few pinches of pumpkin seeds but nuts can make me IR as well so I limit them.
I too don't go mad with veg but I do need some with each meal.

It's a blood sausage made from pork fat! Has other usual sausage ingredients.Not sure what blood sausage is either. Haha. Pork, chicken, beef ? In any event I love sausage of all kinds but need to watch saturated fat .....sad
Do you wait until late morning and after you've eaten?Having a real tough week. Discovered that coffee is now on the banned list. It spikes me every time & makes me feel nauseous. Feeling sick & weak a lot. This is really starting to grate on me now!

It's a wild card with me. Spikes some days, makes me nauseous some days and calms an unsettled tummy some days.
So generally I eat around 8, make a cup, drink. 3 or 4 oz and refrigerate the rest then dump on ice and sip iced coffee. It s more like a coffee IV drip. But it works. I love the flavor more than the caffeine.
It CAN raise me if I drink it too early or too much
Bit of a school boy error but I've ran out of lances so I can't test my BS. Just wondered if alcohol would mess with it or not & if anyone had any experience with protein powder.
I'll be sure to test myself next time I drink some protein & alcohol once my lances have arrived. Thanks

Vegetable (European 100% pea protein) by NuZest - Clean Lean Protein gives me no spike whatsoever at just .6g per portion.

RH = reactive hypoglycaemia
It is where too many carbs causes an excessive insulin reaction which results in a hypo.
It only happens to some people, but it is largely unrecognised by the medical profession, and when it IS recognised, there is little treatment for it, except avoiding the carbs that cause the problem...
Re - being unreconised by medical professions... My hospital consultants seem to be the only ones who understand this. My Gp thinks that just cause I had a gastric bypass 4 years ago and no longer take medication for diabetes I shouldn't now have hypos! but RH is a known by-product of having this surgery and after my levels dropped to 2.8 last nite I tend to have more faith in what I know rather then what mydoctors surgery "diabetes specialist" wont accept. I changed my diet earlier on in the year and mainly eat low GI foods, changing to just eating linseed and soya bread as the other types were giving me constatant hypos.
You should have got in touch with the surgeon or endocrinologist who recommended the surgery. RH is a well known side effect. And from what I've read RH is becoming prevalent in bypass surgery.
But, and it's a big but!
Low GI will not treat it properly.
You need to take out as many refined carbs as possible. Even complex, low GI, healthy, slow acting carbs are still carbs, you only need the natural carbs you can get from fresh vegetables and protein.
