Good morning/afternoon Saskia and KC. It has been raining the proverbial cats and dogs here also. Its a bit quiet in here today. Anyone seen @DJC3? Hope she and Dennis and all her family are well. @gennepher sorry the hospital appointment didnt go well but I think its a good idea to burrow in and get some rest. I will be under a rug with Daisy very soon. Hope your day goes well Saskia. Any news from the apartment manager?7.1 on another dark and rainy morning. I am starting to feel like Noah every time I look out my window. I just hope this building is built upon rock and not sand.
They do gennepher...just tidying up & going to light the fire the floor is littered with Lola's hunting trophies small twigs & leaves but came across one spindly long branch of some spurious plat/shrub/bush she'd captured & managed to bring home...she'd got it under the dining table and was making sure it was well & truly dead she is so funny...enjoy your sojourn & sleep as much as you can it's healing.Glad Charlie and Lola enjoy the outdoors.

My hospital visits didn’t go as well as expected, and so I have to lie down this afternoon. I had to cancel my afternoon with friends. But I will be fine tomorrow, when my rest into gennepher’s hermitage begins and goes on until next Wednesday...well actually it is beginning now. I am lying down on the couch by the window, and Popeye is doing his taking care of me bit...
Another nap is due...
Actually it might - perhaps I should suggest it to him.A man of impeccable taste - doubtless all in the breeding. Doesn't even the alcohol rub improve the stuff?
Save the Norfolk 1 campaign needed. Inhuman conditions the poor man toils under.Actually it might - perhaps I should suggest it to him.
Hi back in after a littele snooze with Miss Daisy, its that sort of day! Mr PM working from home today so my kitchen out of bounds as he likes the dining table to spread everything out and also its warmer! I did manage to make soup before lunch but had to sizzle the onion whle he was off the phone lol. Regarding mattresses I think all you can do is use your instinct and I dont hold much with it being different at home. I think that rule applies more to sofas, eg stories of people seeing them in a warehouse but when they put them in their room they are much larger than expected. I like the sound of the red sofa and I can just imagine you and the KC in a comfy recliner. No news yet. Thank you for asking.I am trying to stay busy clearing out stuff I won't take with me, but it's so quiet around here that it's boring.
The rain seems to have stopped and the clouds are looking lighter, and I want to go out one more time and try some more mattresses, more for something to do than in hopes of finding one in a store. Just last night I read some online review that said a mattress might feel great in a store but when the same model arrives at your home it may feel completely different -- and worse!
But I did get some recommendations on the little town's website about good local mattress&furniture stores, and one in particular has a lovely red sofa, and some very comfy-looking recliners! About half the people on the website recommended a couple of local stores -- the other half recommended Amazon!
I don't know if I'm obsessing about mattresses, or just bored and seeking retail therapy.
How are you getting along?
How do they react to the lit fire...it did occur to me that they are good at supplying kindlingThey do gennepher...just tidying up & going to light the fire the floor is littered with Lola's hunting trophies small twigs & leaves but came across one spindly long branch of some spurious plat/shrub/bush she'd captured & managed to bring home...she'd got it under the dining table and was making sure it was well & truly dead she is so funny...enjoy your sojourn & sleep as much as you can it's healing.
Well that is becoming quite real..did he say which floor as I know you wanted to be high. Other folk who have moved out must have had a way of getting rid of unwanted furniture. Would the management be helpful with suggestions/contacts. I agree with your sentiments about what matters most to take with you but you also need those other stuff.I just got a phone call from the apartment manager in the little town. He says they may have an apartment for me soon, and gave me instructions on how to schedule my move-out date here with my move-in date there. It looks like I should start typing up my move-out notice to turn in to the management here. I suddenly started to think about just ordering an air mattress to be sent here, and finding someone to come and take away my old mattress and sofa. They are not in any shape to donate to our thrift store or any new residents but apparently I can't just leave them here as I'd hoped (paying the maintenance men to take them out of my apartment to the trash room).
I looked at the KittenCat and thought that all I really want to do is crate her, pack my clothes and favorite books, and book an Uber car to take us all to the new place. Forget everything else. Unfortunately, I have files, lamps, household linens and kitchenware, all of which I will need in the new place ... But none of them are treasures I can't do without.
They are curious when it crackles and make the odd spitting noise...if only the trophies were big enough to set the fire...lots of tiny ones that clog up the hoover...I did manage to sneakily manage to get her 'big' branch out from under the table it's now in the rubbish...bless her she spent ten minutes searching for it before I distracted her with a treatit did occur to me that they are good at supplying kindling
All sounds very promising if a little fraught. Always very hard deciding when to let go of some things from the past as we found out not long ago. Right about now some of your compatriots are coming to buy a writing bureau we should have sold before the move. Hope it all goes well and is everything you could wish.I just got a phone call from the apartment manager in the little town. My girls are not allowed in our bedroom due to Mr PM’s asthma. He is ok as long as he doesn't touch them, then he has to wash his hands before he touches his face otherwise streaming eyes. When my friend had her dog and stayed with us her dog slept on her bed which I was never happy about that either. Not citicising anyone bcause we all make our own house rules.Best Cosleeping Mattresses for Dog (and Cat) "Owners"
I thought some of you might enjoy this as much as I did (especially my fellow cosleepers, @gennepher, @PenguinMum , and @jjraak

That happened to me re my sofa. I sat on it at the store and it seemed fine, i was comfortable, back was high enough to support my neck, seat was not too deep for my short(ish) legs and my feet could reach the floor, except at home they didn't. Reach the floor that is, I then realized they mustn't have attached the feet in the shop so at home, sofa was 2/3 inches higher. For someone whose is an ambitious 5ft, those 2/3 inches make a world of difference. No alternative but to lounge rather than sit which I think is a good solution.Hi back in after a littele snooze with Miss Daisy, its that sort of day!
