Winner for humour and links but I considered a hug as I detect some anxiety as well. Forgive me if I am wrong and once again thank you for starting this thread which I have a hunch will be seen as invaluable in the next few months.

I do admit to being anxious about all this, there is no joy in death by drowning in your own juices.

A close friend and fellow aspie has been appointed to carry out my final wishes in return for all my tech, he thought I was joking until we spoke on the phone last night. As a young person, he hadn't really considered the risks to folks like us.

In truth, it is just infuriating that my landlady refuses to acknowledge the risks she is putting herself and others through just to satisfy her sociability and I know that not toeing the line would render me homeless. So, not everything in my garden smells of roses ;)

Some issues with that optimistic view. I would hazard a guess that much of it is imported or harvested by non UK nationals who will come under increasing suspicion/prejudice because that is who we have become. This JIT system seems to be creaking under the strain of COVID and the govt's blithe (ridiculous?) assurances don't survive contact with reality. O/T far.far more activity on the USAF base here this morning - surely even Trump doesn't think he can bomb this thing. Hug for decision to cancel classes must have been difficult when you have worked so long and hard and clearly enjoy the work and care so much for your clients.

Morning All in our new world. 4.7 and 5.2 for me. I am trying to eat a bit less so my stocks go further atm. @gennepher I hope you have enough stock in to keep going. I need cat litter too. Good idea to give Popeye a curfew for his own sake.

@DJC3 good point about Dennis at the pub, so many unknowns atm. We are entering such unknown territory and we all just need to be inventive, kind and super careful to not just those we love but everyone else. @HarryBeau agree everyone working in healthcare from the cleaner up to the top medics need to be cherished and protected. I am stopping big supermarket shops and dashing to Tesco Express for small essentials. When my freezer stocks run down No 2 son will do a shop for us. That plan only streamlines when our friend returns home.

Its so important PM my dear old mum would have come into that category...waiting for my online shop just had notification from them no cat food apart from a packet of dried stuff although I have got the cat litter...so off to forage for cat food following your lead popping down to our little Tesco express see if they have any.

Back from my shopping expedition managed to get lots of kitten food no run on that...Tesco's had food some staples like pasta & rice gone but thankfully they were not on my shopping list...stocked up on coffee & double cream wasn't greedy some foodstuffs for the freezer and we should be able to manage.
 
Well what a morning.
Tesco - I can go there without going into town - looked like the scene from a sci fi film.
I did though get some things that some folk might not know what to do with; lots of tins of jackfruit left - a good substitute for meat in lots of recipes.
Nipped round to the corner shop and was met with a treasure trove of loo rolls, soap and the cheery smile of the shopkeeper - good to know - good to go.
Parents now in lockdown in France and have to produce a document, which they have printed off and completed, if they venture out. They are though, well prepared and are quite looking forward to their home camping experience (4 gardens and an orchard to play in).
 
I have only just recovered from an 3ncounterbin Tesco Express at 9.15 this morning. As I expected it was a handful of over 70s, mostly men, in there. They had good selection of salad bits so I decided not to just get bread. This woman about 50ish came in and called out to her mate on he till that her daughter has had a raging temperature all night. An elderly man pulled his scarf up over his face saying you really shouldnt be here. She said “I gotta ger food for my family”. The man put down his basket and left. As luck would have it I ended up at the next checkout where she was having a right old chat with the cashier. I couldnt help myself but I looked at her and said she was behaving disgracefully putting older people and me at risk when she should be self isolating. She said she didnt have it! As for feeding her family she only bought tobacco. It took me ages to calm down.

Problem was @HarryBeau that I was not going to open my mouth in front of her. I briefly thought of it but I wanted gone as quick as possible without appearing rude or maybe even having a security guard come after me because I had done something unusual by leaving the till as she was ringing through my shopping.
Today I checked the cashiers at the till before I shopped. And again before I approached them with my basket of goods.

OK, the French minister flagged it up yesterday, but the lab in Vienna which has been quoted says it’s fake news - they are not and never have been investigating the connection between coronavirus and ibuprofen, apparently.
Snopes investigated the story but have designated it Unproven.
RTE Ireland have debunked it.
So, at this stage, it seems to be conjecture. Anyhow, I don’t take ibuprofen as I have asthma and take very little notice of stuff popping up on social media or newspapers.

I have both iboprofen and paracetamol @dunelm . I am not supposed to take iboprofen either because of my asthma, BUT I have to take iboprofen when I get an infection in my skull, round the magnet area of my Cochlear Implant, it gets very painful, or else I will lose my Cochlear implant.

Not a good experience. There are going to be a fair number of people who will ignore all advice. Think like you are driving a car - all other pedestrians are idiots and should be avoided.
