Saskia the membership fee is just £30 per year & most of the people who shop there do so for the savings it will, bring them those with large families on a budget it's not elitist in any sense of the word.
Used to be a member @SaskiaKC as you can buy some nice stuff there. I'm definitely not elitist just bog standard Joe public but I used to like their meat and fish. Can also buy nuts in bulk. Son loves their ready cooked chicken and packs of cakes.

They often have toilet rolls on offer so I suspect their customer base has probably increased recently.

Brilliant..ICELAND you say, the store ICELAND
wonderful Stuff.

there that should get their goggle score up the rankings slightly

nice post @gennepher
Visited our local Iceland this morning, plenty of food in the freezers and on the shelves although no toilet rolls that I could see. There are some things I really like from Iceland such as their Aberdeen Angus beef burgers, very low in carbs which suits me.

I went out this morning looking for tins of meat for a more varied diet than more tins of fish. But alas no tinned meat anywhere. I did find four small tins of white herring, and for a treat I found a few packets of apple crisps and pineapple crisps (air dried fruit), a bit expensive and a bit high in carbs but I thought I would treat myself.
...
Dont know if you have an Icelend near you but there were plenty of tins of corned beef, spam, ham and small tins of pek chopped pork, also Tuna in Iceland this morning. Perhaps you could order online?

Thank you. :) I am of the same rank and file. I have never been to a Costco but I have been to Sam's Club a couple of times, years ago -- hugest packs of toilet paper I've ever seen!

My local one this morning was poorly stocked. No spam, no ham, no pek, there was tuna in brine or spring water (but I can't eat fish in brine or spring water, gives me heart burn). One badly dented tin of beef in gravy, and similarly a chicken one badly dented.

I am assuming that by Wednesday they will be restocked for us pensioners....

Hospital run achievement unlocked. Never had an MRI scan before and it was great, I wanted another go ;)

I was in the tube for 17 mins and fell asleep listening to the pops, clicks, whirs and bangs. The nurse thought it was hilarious, I had a headset on so they could talk to me if needed and she said: "we wondered if the machine was making a new noise then realised you were snoring". It was the best nap ever! :)

No results for two weeks and the only downside was coming back on a bus filled with plague children :wideyed:
Not to make you jealous but I have had four although I admit for one of them the machine broke down when it was my turn so cant really count that. Found my brain after some searching so that was ok.

After Boris Johnson 's briefing this afternoon I made the decision to close down all classes for the foreseeable future. I just felt I couldn't put class members at risk.

Lets hope so.

In the hope that today's announcements has shaken us all up
and we are all now going to be adult about this....

NO bad news..
a simple post for IF and when those we love get sick with covid.19/20/21..:hilarious:

I did post earlier that taking paracetamol at first sign of fever might not be a good idea.
our bodies are made to KILL viruses by raising our temperature to make the body inhospitable to it so it dies.

however i just have seen THIS post that suggest taking the more common ibuprofen in the uk, is deemed by french authorities to CAUSE an increase in complications in covid patients.

as we are almost in lockdowm, (UK as well as all of europe )
NO excuse not to take time to watch this and maybe save a life.
and maybe some one you love to boot..

stay well
stay safe

However when I got to the only till open the till lady began coughing. Badly, a hacking cough. I pulled my bandana up over my face and positioned my glasses over the top bit on the bandana. And as I was also wearing a snood, I pulled that up as well. And I held my breath...

She managed to cough over every item, not even attempting to cover her mouth or anything. And then proceeded to cough cough cough into the open till over the change. I pointed to the charity box, her eyes opened because presumably not many say put just under £5 change in the charity box.
That is absolutely dreadful. She should not have been at work. I cannot believe that the manager of the shop allowed it. Is your shopping still in quarantine?

My painting for my daily painting challenge.
I painted it within the SketchClubApp.
A lot of learning to do. Learning to blend, different strokes, lots more.
And realising I can enlarge the painting so it becomes incredibly pixelated so I can paint pixel by pixel to get the detail...
I didn't realise the app could do this much!
Enjoy. It probably took me an hour to do.

an amazing painting.

Have text all class members and the feedback seems to be that it was the right decision to cancel classes.
Am looking forward to devising a weekly lesson plan for their home practice. Will need to make sure I have everyone's email address. Hopefully I can put them in class groups the way I do texts.

Hope everyone ok. I've not had chance to catch up. Sorting BIL and FIL out with various things. And trying to keep up with events!

My sons birthday today. He is away. He should have been going to Madrid. Flight cancelled. Good job he didnt go as now in lockdown! He found a lovely romantic lodge with sauna and hot tub. In Yorkshire. Ilkley Moor. Came back this evening raving about it. Best holiday EVER! and he has travelled quite a bit. Staycations are where it's at (for some time no doubt!).

Lots of my friends having issues with cruise holidays. One couple flew all the way to Sidney Australia only to find out their cruise was cancelled. So 2 days in Sidney then home. Long way for a weekend break!

Hubby's boss stranded in the Caribbean. They wont let them dock. No suspected Covid 19 cases.

My friend was in Chili has had her Americas cruise cancelled. Trying to get home.

Another friend in Tenerife which is now in lockdown. If she goes out there will be a €500 fine (apart from shopping). Was due to stay til 25th but decided to come home.

Our holiday to Malaga cancelled but full refund received by easyjet.

It's all very sureal. On a lighter note the figures in China are very low for new cases. Their draconian measures are working. And trump mentioned something about a vaccine being trialled!!!
