That is absolutely dreadful. She should not have been at work. I cannot believe that the manager of the shop allowed it. Is your shopping still in quarantine?
I wasn’t going to stay and complain. My priority for myself was to get the h*ll out of there and breathe fresh air outside.
My shopping is still in quarantine @Krystyna23040
I sprayed the shopping inside the bag with antibacterial spray. And when I am ready I will get my antibacterial wipes. Wipe it all and then it is still staying in quarantine...

Goodness, since this morning it's taken me an hour to catch up on posts, so much happening, so many experiences, such humour, knowledge, useful links and support, thank you one and all. Makes my day seem quite ordinary and I thought I had been very busy.

My VW camper passed its MOT but looks like nowhere to go in it, ah well somewhere to isolate either Mrs MC or myself to if we get C19 symptoms.

She will love you very much with you being around more @SaskiaKC
By the way I am rather tired, and I did say yesterday I would show you how I saved the smile emojis on the Android. Brain is a bit fried at no, and I still haven't done daily painting/picture yet. I will do it tomorrow.

Rest. Paint. Continue training with Popeye. We will have lots of time to try the Android emoji work. :)

Good morning/evening folks, a better 5.5 on the dice today. Much talk of building sites shutting down and mothballing until the pandemic is over, not good news for us tradesmen many of us are now self employed (subbies) after the last financial crash, Mrs Trick perked up a bit when hearing this and said she would get some paint for the dining room and that she would like a new kitchen..... well ok, but only if we both live through this. Also talk of pubs shutting down :arghh:.

Good Morning and 5.7 today, pleased as it was 6.9 last night after not being able to resist Mrs MCs creation with Puff Pastry.

@trick60 hug for almost inevitable loss of Subbies work and the looming DIY.

A Muddy Bike Ride, now is that non essential travel? I will just have to resist being my usual social self and peddle off in other directions whenever I see someone, could get very lost. :joyful:

A lovely typically grey British day here today.

Keep informed, make the right decisions and take care.

Edit PS. @gennepher you do get on some adventures. Anyway great art effort with your new Media keep it up.

4.4 when I first woke up at 4:30am tossed and turned, drank tea, showered etc now 4.8 happy with that. Time for coffee.
@trick60 not good news for you by the sounds of it, I hope you and Mrs T can weather the storm.
I wonder if pubs will shut? No2 daughter is getting v anxious about Mr C taking Dennis to the pub in the evenings - if people stroke him when he’s there, and he comes home and we’re all stroking him all evening, it’s the same as taking a box to the pub, letting people touch it and bringing it home for everyone here to handle. Lots of questions popping up all the time.

Fbg 7.6

I need some more cat litter for Popeye. I do have some, but if this is going to go on as long as it might, then I don't want him out at all in the day, when people may be around, there is one neighbour (down the bottom of the road) who doesn't like cats at all, and years ago he used to post nasty things in my letter box (he did it anonymously but I lay in wait and caught himself oneday...) and he has a habit of generating bad feeling against a neighbour he doesn't like, I have been the target of this in the past, but others have too. Also there was a spate of cat poisonings at one time, especially those bungalows around him who had cats. Fake news like you can catch Coronavirus from animals will give him all the hate fuel he needs.

So I am taking no chances with Popeye. He is not going to be seen in daytime outside. He has always been an outdoors cats, and that exercise is what keeps him mentally alive. Shut indoors totally and he goes depressed. Let him go out, albeit briefly at night, and he is so much more mentally alert.

Popeye does like to patrol this property. There is one section where to do his 'job' properly he has to patrol the outside for about 20 yards, but it is between me and the neighbour whose bungalow is empty (because she went into a home, poor sod). So Popeye and I have come to an agreement. He goes out briefly at night now. Yes he does wake me up in the night, and I go open the kitchen door for him and I stand guard until he comes back. He knows and appears to appreciate this. He is still very wary after that bad attack on him.

So cat litter and a bit more cat food and cat treats today. I am going to look for a few more meat tins if I can. But if none available, then austerity rules, and I shall ration the food I have, starting from now. I wouldn't mind finding a few more treats for me, albeit ones I wouldn't normally eat, but not if #coughgate is at any tills.

Got to get to the area I need to be for 8 am so bye, will catch up with this thread later.

Take care, will read when I come back...

We are off to the shops, suspect half of France will be there as well, before lockdown starts at midday.
Winner for bg levels obviously not the cough and tiredness. Glad you managed to go back to sleep. Hope Mr Slim is being sensible with workload.
@ianpspurs MrSlim sensible with workload. Ha! However he did ask me to help him with the ladder.
Cough is now in third week, getting better slowly. Thank you for your good wishes.

Morning...it looks like a beautiful sunny day out there but not letting the cats out just yet...yesterday we had an 'incident' with 'Plumpy' as usual the beasts went out...Harry was outside in his garden with the connecting gate closed...I heard lots of scratching not unusual for Harry suddenly he appeared in our garden looking very pleased with himself...went out checked he had broken the bottom part of the gate & squeezed himself underneath...the gap wasn't very big he must have limbo'd under it...he is desperate to 'play' with Charlie & Lola so didn't tell him off he stayed for the rest of the day...coffee tastes good...woke to a 6.9 I succumbed to some contraband last night...oops!

Good morning all. Fbg of 5.6 for me today which is not ideal but things could be much worse and my body has had far bigger problems than that over the last year. Where a strict LC lifestyle and exercise fits in this new age is an interesting point. Can't see how failing to deal well with chronic conditions such as T2 helps the NHS and people who need care so it becomes part of being a good neighbour. Sourcing the ingredients may become an issue but it does seem as though it is the carbs people are hoarding. Pubs, clubs, restaurants and social gatherings don't interest me but I feel for those of you who will miss those or have family and friends depending on them for their livelihood. . @trick60 worrying times for yourself and many other tradesmen and women. Take care and best wishes plotting your route through this minefield. Julie is very conflicted over 90 yo mum this Mother's Day.

Quarantining my shopping was my plan yesterday as not only did I call into Iceland but Asda is next door and I needed some almond milk (it was an afterthought\) Two cashiers were full of cold and coughing, although the one who served me used her sanitizer after she coughed. (Almond milk went into a separate cupboard and hands washed again after. ) We only have one diagnosed case in our town and that was well over a week ago does that make our risk slightly less, who can say? Wonder how many cases of corona virus are masquerading as "its just a cold"

Having a Shania Twain moment here just pondering on the status of low skilled workers (according to Priti Patel)...isn't it ironic how those auxiliary staff such as cleaners cooks care assistants manual workers were classified as low skilled & not suitable to come here to work... now they are such an important part of our frontline defence against cov-19...we should be applauding them...when we regain some semblance of normality I hope those workers are celebrated & recognised as an important part of our workforce.

Good morning everyone from the dark and dangerous north and another suspected day in la la land if shopping is on your agenda.

The wonder wheel of feasting on breast of lamb last night came in at 4.8 this am

It was like hunting the Snark yesterday and all for a certain type of baby milk for granddaughter number 5. Luckily, after a three pronged attack, two tins were netted.

Latest rumor control is the battle of the pain killers.
It seems as if there is some doubt over this one...
OK, the French minister flagged it up yesterday, but the lab in Vienna which has been quoted says it’s fake news - they are not and never have been investigating the connection between coronavirus and ibuprofen, apparently.
Snopes investigated the story but have designated it Unproven.
RTE Ireland have debunked it.
So, at this stage, it seems to be conjecture. Anyhow, I don’t take ibuprofen as I have asthma and take very little notice of stuff popping up on social media or newspapers.
https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/covid-19-nsaids-ibuprofen/

Bye the way, if you run out of loo roll and resort to kitchen paper or wipes, don’t flush them unless you have a good set of drain rods. Must go, I have to get to B&Q before all the anaglypta runs out.

6.1 today. Felt quite stressed last night as I text everyone and I didn't sleep very well. Seeing eye consultant this morning to see if I need more treatment - which isn't helping blood sugars.

6.1 this morning and it seems that thanks to Chinas sequencing of the virus we might be able to begin trials of a vaccine in April. Doesn't mean we will get it then, a lot of hoops have to be negotiated but it is a start.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...ine-be-ready-human-trials-global-immunisation

I notice that Trump is playing it up that 'his guys' are leading the war against the 'Chinese virus', odd that the slimeball is accused of trying to blag exclusive rights to a cure thus endangering the rest of the world whilst his buddies made money. Despicable creature.

https://www.politico.eu/article/ger...d-to-buy-firm-working-on-coronavirus-vaccine/

Her ladyship begins her two-day socialising and I will be driving her around masked up whether she likes it or not. I am on the endangered list and I will notify the WWF that I feel threatened ;)

It was savoury, smoked salmon and cream cheese rolled into puff pastry, she did warn me that one slice was enough, however I ate 3, silly me, Mrs MC is always right. :banghead:

Yes there is some left, my address
