What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Well I spoke too soon. Just after my latest post about restricted visits to mum's nursing home they rang me to say that they are now in lock down. So no visits for Mother's day. We can drop off pressies/ card and other supplies at the door but mum will not understand who they are from. It's the right thing to do as the residents are really vulnerable. I will still be ringing every day to ask how mum is but it is not the same as seeing her, holding her hand and giving her a reassuring hug.

You're right, it's not the same.
I live in a senior apartment building and am torn between being glad our management has closed the building to all nonessential visitors, and being sad that people cannot see their own loved ones. After all, "essential" has different meanings in different cases.

Sorry to hear that it must be hard for you but maybe your mum will cope better because of the nature of the illness.. So many in difficult circumstances and they do sound l8e a very caring home.

I'm sorry it's happening to you too.
I keep thinking of you and your friend and hoping you and your household are doing well.
Thank you. We are fine and progress is slow but we have a better pain management plan in place. The physio exercises 3 times a day and personal care makes the day go by fast.
We had a couple of blips when friend’s glasses shed an arm due to lost screw but Mr PM saved the day by finding old redundant glasses of his and managed to replace it. Then she realised she was running shoet of essential meds but after many calls we managed to get her surgery to agree to send electronic prescription to mine so should be able to collect tomorrow.

Penguins would like that.....lol. Would popey
Yes I am @PenguinMum thankyou.
I have a variety of tinned food now.
At least it is not going to be tinned fish for breakfast, tinned fish for lunch, tinned fish for tea....
Lol penguins would really like that! I cant believe Popeye would eat a whole creme egg it is indeed a mystery. I think he has a very honest face

Doing ok.. @PenguinMum , thanks.

Just keeping a close eye on her as we near the end of the week, if it's old matey day 7 -8 seems to be the turning point,. So hopefully she is good and all cleared up by then.

Yes, you may be right. Several websites are being very slow to load this week; I assume the Wi-Fi is being overloaded with so many people working at home.

Well done Mr PM! And all of you for getting the surgery on board.

Not easy as we are finding with MIL but not surprising, at least you know that she is in good hands. Take care.

Brilliant @SaskiaKC
You are amazing with emojies!!!
You must repeat the experiment - get another two creme eggs. For one, pretend to fall asleep and see what happens. For the second, rejoice in knowing that you will be able to eat at least one of the two. Good luck, photo’s of cat devouring creme egg expected within the next 24 hrs.

I heard something going bop-bop-bop on my window. At first I thought it was Mr Fuzz.
But it was a couple of neighbors checking up on us.

I don't know why I've been so obsessed with buying the perfect mattress, since whatever I buy will end up looking like this one (as my mornings already do). I'm just glad I got rid of my baseball bat.
