What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

@dunelm I have 2 words for you. :)

Cader Idris.

My mountain-climb of choice. Except that I can see a lovely mountain just out my window. Only right now it is 4 degrees out there, and probably even colder on the mountaintop.
The temperature will have a lot of climbing of its own to do if it's to reach its predicted 19 degrees by suppertime!
Hello @SaskiaKC Would that be 4 degrees F or C ? Big difference. Here in Euroland we are on the S.I. system of units, metric, but who can tell what weird system we will be on after Brexit (remember when that was an issue of daily discussion? Those were the days.)

6.4 today, I know exactly why. But not sharing for fear of incriminating myself ;-)

Today I spent clearing out cupboards, listening to LBC about coronavirus, general cleaning whilst watching sky news coronavirus updates, moving floors whilst listening to VIDEOS on coronavirus! And I told my hubby yesterday I was NOT going to pick up my mobile at all but constantly on various coronavirus forums! To tell you the truth I'm no wiser! Still the same issues. Hopefully tomorrow some better news.

On a lighter note we have a family and friends quiz to tune into at 8.15pm. Via zoom app. It's a great app. Looking forward to that. Going to catch up on forum now.

Hope everyone is feeling ok. I have a friend in intensive care at the local hospital with covid-19 but got some fantastic news today. He is out of ICU and feeling better. Happy days.

He had only just got his appetite full back from last time. Now off his food again, so tempting him to eat.The wound on the leg he can reach. But I have cleaned and treated that. But he cannot reach the one on the back of his neck, So I am cleaning that and treating that also.
Thank you.
Its a challenge neither of you need Gennepher. Suggest put antiseptic on the one he cannot lick, tree oil excellent. But you know what to do. I am sure you will tempt him to eat with all you have. Wishing you both all the best. Hugs galore.

obsessive about checking bG and diet and exercise. I’m not overweight, I walk dog a few miles most days, have always eaten med. so I was shocked when the nurse told me. No one told me I was prediabetic two years ago. Grr

Can’t take metformin. Would like to know good apps and carb counters etc.

Yesterday I found a little miracle cure for morning high bG. I got up and ran up the drive 10 times. .5 mile. My neighbors thought it was great fun. Then I had a breakfast of chia seeds and banana and half a cup of whole milk and big cup of coffee and the numbers went from 10 to 7. I’d say that’s a win.

Today I woke up at 13 bG, did the run AFTER the chia seed breakfast and the numbers only came down to 11.2. So get heart pumping before eating seems to be the way to go.

Anyone have any ideas?

Hi @EF welcome to the forum..

Hare is a useful link that may help. https://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/basic-information-for-newly-diagnosed-diabetics.26870/

There is tonnes of other experience, info & help around the forum. Don't be too shy to ask..

@EF has anyone tagged @daisy1 yet to give you the official welcome?

@ianpspurs , I'm sorry to say Daisy1 retired around 10 months back, she will be missed..

One of my favourites too. Who is he! Brilliant. Love the guitar.
Tatsuo Tabei , there are many examples of this popular guitar piece. It's meant to be played with the guitarists own personal touch and emotions. This is my favourite rendition of it, popular as it's quite easy for a reasonable guitarist to learn a bit like Blackbird, Beatles and Angi, not the stones but the guitar instumental made popular by Bert Jansch(pentangle fame)

All three pieces sound great but are not particularly difficult.

4 degrees C. I always translate my numbers before posting. :)
It's now 18 degrees outside so I may put on my spacesuit and go for a walk in the sunshine.

Sorry to hear about Popeye. Just wondering about the tea tree oil suggestion though - it’s actually poisonous to dogs but I don’t know if it is to cats.

I just googled tea tree because of @DJC3 's suggestion.

Here is the link:

It appears to depend on the concentration?

He has eaten a little Saskia. Thank you.
I am hoping to get sleep tonight.
He is wrapped round my neck now...

Oh, I am so glad he has eaten something. It is always such a relief when they eat, even just a little.
I hope you will both get some restful, healing sleep tonight.
xx and purrs.

This watercolour didn't work out as I expected wanted a more abstract and dramatic result, might have another attempt but it's still today's watercolour A4 about 1 and 1/2 hours. Based on early bike ride and the low Morning sun through the pine trees on Cannock Chase near Fair Oak Pools

I've just been talking on the phone with a neighbor who has a car and has been getting out and running errands and doing a little shopping. It made me feel like the guy in this song, which I didn't understand at all when I was 14, and I still don't get its being an international hit. But I felt this way a bit today.

Barry and Robin Gibb wrote the song while sitting on a darkened staircase at Polydor Records following a power cut. The echo of the passing lift inspired them to imagine that they were trapped in a mine

Now I am going out for a walk in the sunshine, thanks be to God. I don't know if the sun will have his hat on; I will mine.

6,40am FBG 5.4

MrSlim has decided he should go back to work in UK. We have agreed that I will stay here. So yesterday was lessons on how to refuel the mower and tractor. Practice run round the garden on my electric bike ( very wobbly) and the gas ran out. Good thing it was now. While I still have a car. MrSlim had another look at my laptop. He will need his.

Off to the shop again. It seems the police can legally demand to see your shopping, although whether something is essential, or not, can be a subjective decision. Will be putting milk, bread, coffee and vegetables on top. Sundried tomatoes hidden in the bottom of the bag. Along with ground almonds, sunflower seeds, if i can get any, and olives.

Get well and stay well wishes as appropriate for all.

Going out to see how the seedlings survived the overnight frost in their makeshift shelters.

Like your make do garden frame. Don't think I would be brave enough to stay in a different country on my own. Hope you have friendly neighbours.
