What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Morning all. Fbg of 5.7 today which taken as the sole indicator of my wellbeing is bad. The other key indicators (sleep score and length, oxygen variation during sleep, weight, blood pressure, lipids, resting pulse rate) are good/very good as I would expect from low carb but otherwise well balanced meals. Last evening was the first time in a fortnight my 2 hr post prandial reading was over 5 (5.4) but I felt satiated and thoroughly enjoyed rib eye steak after about a year of very low enjoyment of meat. I have also reintroduced onions into my diet over the past month - much happier bunny taste wise. Spanish? ones in h/m coleslaw seem to keep bg lower - as does red cabbage and plenty of mayo. I just need passata, onion, basil and garlic combo to be welcomed back in big enough quantities now. Julie's birthday today so she is 2 years older than me for exactly 2 months. Lamb shoulder, asparagus and broccoli seems like a plan - I will have gravy and mint sauce - maybe even a glass of the wine mountain lake we have. Toodle pip.

5.4 on this lovely sunny morning. Just relaxing in the conservatory drinking coffee. Doggies have been play fighting and chasing each other around the house and garden.and now are fast asleep in the sunshine. I think I will rename them Chaos and Mayhem.

Good morning everyone from another day of promise in the dark and dangerous north

The wonder wheel of “why carbs all of a sudden you dunce” came in at a lockdown 5.7 this am

The unidentified seed sprouting on the windowsill have been identified as morning glory.

Skipping lightly through the past 24 hours of the thread it seems that the colour purple has been shoehorned, like a bewildered letter ‘U’ in the word colour, into a game changing metaphor to collar any smidge of change from the drollness of “lockdown fever”, a little known ditty from Bob Marley. Marley was dead ... who the dickens said that? I should spend my pension on brandy and make up for the sobriety of my youth.

Seems to me that the most excellent John Cooper Clark had it right, the title appears at the end of each subsequent verse with monotonous regularity and impotent rage is my default setting.

Random words, yes, but they all recycle letters so huge pats on the back for cutting down on waste.

Have the most frabjous day that you can. Thank you for your comments about our lost friend. Koffy calls.

Happy Birthday Julie. Food choices to make anyone want to dash over and join in - enjoy the day.

Hey! Our 3 year old twin granddaughters are called Chaos and Mayhem - would your doggies like some practical lessons on how to live up to the names in real time?

Disturbed night, but hardly surprising, emotions running a bit high here atm. Had not anticipated this rush to be off. Thought it would take a week to get organised, but no. He will leave in a couple of hours. Plan is for me to keep busy today. There are little trees need planting, for a start...
@dunelm sorry you lost your friend to this horrid disease.
@gennepher my leek roots are not growing in the garden. Think your putting them in water approach might be more successful.
I absolutely love the Chocolate Sea painting.
@Muddy Cyclist the tree to the right hints that the path is along a woodland edge. Naturally, at times the path will be shaded, while the fields beyond are in sunshine. It looks right to me.

@everyone. Keep/get well. Stay safe.

Good that you enjoyed the Ribeye and that introducing onions has made meals more enjoyable. Ribeye is the only steak we eat now as we think it is the tastiest.

Happy birthday to Julie. Mr K is one year older than me for exactly 6 months. I tease him about it - until I catch up with him. The birthday dinner sounds delicious.

Please please don't offer practical lessons on how to properly do Chaos and Mayhem. Two 30kg Labradors rampaging around the house scattering footstools and humans in their wake is quite enough this early in the morning.

I do hope that you don't sue me for copyright infringement over the names Chaos and Mayhem because @HarryBeau will represent me and I will surely win.

Thank you @SlimLizzy for the painting compliment.

I have watched you tube videos where they put these spring onion roots (same as mine) in soil and in the garden but they totally miss out explaining how much watering you need to do for this to succeed.

I lost my first batch of spring onion roots like I said before, because I didn’t water or spray them enough.

My present successful batch in the photo are incredibly hungry for water. But it is very easy to do being on the kitchen window ledge right besides the sink.

I would try the water approach if you can.

I am still researching further how I can improve this.

You have a good day

Stay safe

I grew up with these guys. They're like brothers I've never met. And tonight they've been the highlight of "One World Together At Home." As many years as I've known this song, and as many settings as I've heard it in, tonight it really hit home for me.

So much good music going on, of all genres. Do we call it ‘Wifi Woodstock”? Always took to the Stones over The Beatles, just a preference. On the BBC tonight - highlights I think.

Morning...fabulous sleep last night off to bed 00:40 up 05:00 a quick pit stop back to bed up again at 07:30 desperately needed it hadn't slept well the last couple of nights...no idea how I've had such a busy couple of days the time has just flown by...Friday off for routine blood test sat in out busy surgery room completely alone...nurse in full combat gear was a little unsettling...then home to go for my click & collect shopping which was a thirty minute drive away so excited I'd got a slot...blasted car wouldn't start it's hardly been used I only had a two hour slot to collect shopping...called the AA who arrived twenty minutes later decided on replacing the battery...had to have a particular one as it's a cabriolet...luckily he had one on his van...collected my shopping on the drive home felt eternally grateful for those keeping everything going...it's such a beautiful sunny morning hard to believe we are in crisis times but we are so lets make sure we all keep ourselves and others as safe as we can and to all those keeping essential services going thank you so much.
