What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Morning...late checking in worked last night unexpectedly but finished at 11pm so not too late...sun is shining beasts & Harry wandering about outside so relatively peaceful ATM...breakfast on this thread is moving fast will catch up later...woke to a 6.3...keep safe.

Thank you @dunelm

That is a pretty amazing Chrysanthemum!
Brilliant!

I hope the day goes brilliantly for you all @dogslife

Went into surgery yesterday and saw doctor in full ppe and also nurse for bloods.
Doctor gave me lots of time and investigated my condition as fully as she could.
Thats the first time I have been inside another building, apart from home, since mid March.

I have a complex metabolic condition which stops my pancreas working properly, which is the least of the problems.
I suppose we all will have metabolic issues when we get old!

the old normal seemed fine but the new normal is world leading,
I am really liking the new normal - especially as I no longer have to try and work out why my blood sugar are not behaving themselves. Hopefully the new normal of blood sugars behaving themselves day after day continues. I do know that it won't because at this very moment I am sure my liver and pancreas are in secret discussions on how to sabotage my world leading blood sugars.

Hug for the day, but a win for the surgeries approach.

Hope results show encouraging signs

Thanks for your concerns.
I have 30mm adrenal tumour that has caused Conn's syndrome. It leads to an whole suite of problems and my G.P. eldest daughter believes I need blood gas analysis to determine the particular issue that's current, which is not possible atm. One has to be careful quoting a GP daughter to other medics and I try to avoid it.

Late on parade even though I was up bright and early. You'll be wanting to know what my fbg is although I'm beginning to feel it's overrated.

Firstly, it's a 35m rollover tonight but more importantly, I made the mistake of asking her ladyship if she wanted anything. That resulted in a trip to the garden centre and several expandable panels plus 60 canes (not to mention bedding plants) we were on our way home.

Guess what I've been doing since then... that's right! Never ask a woman if she needs you to do something

Oh, my fbg was 6.1 although I am 4.7 at the moment

We have done this 4 times now with Mrs MCs mom, all went well and she was much better outside more alert. Hope your visit goes well.

@gennepher and @dunelm more excellent Zen work, like the experiment with backgrounds and that's a fine chrysanthemum.

My ear problem is set to continue. Phone triaged by nurse, can't see me, takes my word for it no wax, won't give me antibiotics and put me on referral to ENT but says it could be next year before I get to see anyone.

Anyway here is today's effort, Pastel drawing of daughters dog. family creative challenge is Dog, I'm also going to sing and play a rocking version of Hound Dog a song I have never performed before, might even try the hip girations.

Hugs for the continuing ear saga problem @Muddy Cyclist

That is a beautiful pastel of your daughter’s dog.
Wonderful dog portrait!

I watched this the other day on You Tube. It is just a few minutes. It isn’t what it seems from the title. Worth a watch.

good evening all

was 4.5 yesterday and 4.5 today

out to the charity shed yesterday all masked up and sanitised to within an inch ... you know the drill when we got there it was to discover that they had been so busy the week before that they are back to normal opening hours this week.

Not mr gee and I though, I'm out of practice, we arrived a bit later than we used to and I was still tired by mid afternoon. We went for a walk after we got home and halfway round the village I started getting shaky, think I overdid it, perhaps a touch of electrolyte depletion too. It was very hot and humid here yesterday. So I just ate dinner and read for an hour then went to bed early

I'm another one who's feeling a bit anxious and 'melancholy' just at the moment @Muddy Cyclist but even though I sang in a madrigal group in my 'youff' ( 8 of us as a split from the full choir), I can't take them when I feel that way. I try to listen to some 20's /30's dance band music.

Anyway, today we were requested to take Mum for her pension but we weren't out long and then came home and have been strimming in the sunshine, boosting our vitamin D

@jjraak - hope the glasses are on the road to recovery

@dunelm - lovely little bird, very fluid and your chrysanthemum is very stylish

@gennepher - very finely balanced and evocative artwork of your masked lady, and it's interesting to see how the paper choice influences the aspects of your landscape

I'm finding the law mandating mask wearing here has helped enormously. But I do wonder how stressed we'll all feel when they start to come off again

@Muddy Cyclist - wonderful stand of silver birches MC, there are many of these lovely trees in our area I particularly like the way you've silhouetted them against the sky and the textures in the path in the foreground Your dog is very characterful and the eyes have worked really well

art bit -
I'm just starting to try out the 'inktense' pencils a bit, either alone or in conjunction with a bit of watercolour. They'll be in the next batch to be scanned.

this is just a quick watercolour inspired by the calm misty view of the Firth as we passed by.
I think the striped bit of the tower is too big in comparison to the rest of the platform now I look at it, perhaps because the colour was bright even on a misty morning it made more of an impression

Thank you for your compliments @geefull

I think your painting is perfect.
I don't think the stripes on the tower are too big. It's bright colour on a misty morning would make it loom out of the mist...

What a lovely pastel drawing of your daughters dog. So sorry you cannot get your eat sorted until next year. Surely it must be urgent if there is a possible infection.

Beautiful artwork. The hug is for the melancholia
