This was supposed to be a week-long project for my 2nd effort but in true AlienAspie form... I got fed up with it.
So, you can have the 'unfinished magpie'
I used Procreate and Zen for this as I couldn't do it all in Zen, and I can't paint from memory so the magpie was from a photo

I envy the speed everyone else can knock this stuff out at, I took so long I had to charge my iPad again
@Krystana I didn't know it is possible to have too much coffee in the morning.4.8 this morning. Dogs walked, milk and eggs collected from farm and Mr K is currently taking his motor bike to get its MOT.
I have already drunk way too much coffee.
This is great Gennepher. No comments about technique, lack of knowledge there, ,but its lovely to see you trying something different.A great detailed open air sketch @Muddy Cyclist
good evening all
was 4.7 this morning
a howling gale here and rain early on but then a fine but very blustery day
over to mum's to pick up her shopping list, spent far too long picking over blackcurrants today, I listened to an audiobook but it still seemed very tedious, not enough 'zen' today obviously
On the plus side we did get a few more strawberries from our neighbour so we had them with a bit of double cream left over from the gooseberry fool production
Hope your day is treating you well
@Alien Aspie - wonderful art works both, and welcome to the splash and scribble set
I find that having taken to watercolour is helping me to be a bit less 'detail oriented' in my art work.
I think I get that particular tendency from dad, his spelling was dire but he was a clever precision engineer who could pick up a set of plans and turn the finished 3d object over in his mind before it ever went near the workshop, (Mum was the language wonk).
@dunelm - I love your latest zen painting, very authentic celestial mountains above the clouds and good depth of field
@gennepher - wonderful, playful and impressively stylised dragons, I like both versions
@Muddy Cyclist - The second of your 'gates' is my favourite I think and I really like your very free pencil heathland sketch, different but compelling all the same
Thanks for the info on your pencils, I may pick some more up to have a go with shortly,
art bit -
felt I had to join in and have a quick bash at the current style of work
not done in an app. though (haven't downloaded it yet), just plain old paint

Is it going to be safe, Muddy?Good Muddy Cycle ride although a sail may have helped, blowing a gale. It was fun because I enjoy the activity but it did get me thinking about the new cycling idea from GOV.
I am not optimistic about it. A few years ago in the Welsh Valleys a similar scheme was introduced. I was working as a National Cycle Coach for British Cycling, training and assessing Cycle coaches on how to lead and train non cyclists to ride bikes. A lot of money was spent on bikes, training and wages. By the end of the first year most of the staff were laid off, bikes were all locked up and the scheme came to a halt. Not surprising, what does cycling offer to inspire someone overweight, comfortable with being a TV addict and not exercising, sitting in the warmth, enjoying beer and takeaways, travelling in a warm car when they need to and generally content with their Lott. OK maybe the worry of Obesity and Corvid will inspire some but in my experience this is going to be another waste of money. Sorry to be pessimistic, I would really like to think it will work, but I suspect not.
Edit... oh! And £50 to help with bike repairs, they must be joking!
I think that you are probably right. I must admit that I enjoyed every one.@Krystana I didn't know it is possible to have too much coffee in the morning.
Thank you @SlimLizzyThis is great Gennepher. No comments about technique, lack of knowledge there, ,but its lovely to see you trying something different.
That sounds good @Muddy CyclistPS light here this morning is golden, painting trees against a dark cloudy sky, enlightening.
What a lovely picture of a magpie. This was supposed to be a week-long project for my 2nd effort but in true AlienAspie form... I got fed up with it.

I agree - I just can't see this working. Wouldn't getting people walking more have been a better option.I dont think this is a well thought out strategy.
Lucky escape for us baby boomers then, we are all measured in avoir du pois. You may not wish to read this if you are over 183 cms tall https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2020/07/28/people-6ft-have-double-risk-coronavirus-study-suggests/ - may be good that I'm starting to shrink well below 187 cms
Loving it geefullart bit -
