5.9 this morning. Is that inches of rain or my fbg, it could be both ;)

Starting a new art project today and I'm making an attempt at being somewhat creative. The subject will be unique in the sense that it didn't already exist in the form I want.

I was speaking to Jenn last night, she was trying to reassure me about digital art and said it's very difficult as modern tech means that people think it is created by the program, not the person. Why she thought that was reassuring I don't know. Anyway, she has asked me to keep a picture diary of my steps. I did point out that doing so is going to add to my production time. I'm a drama lama apparently :)

Meanwhile, the new microwave/grill/oven is very nice although I still don't know what some of the buttons do.

Enjoy the day ;)

Good Morning and 6 for me today.

If the rain stops as promised I'm off out for a Muddy Cycle ride and see where my legs take me, off road of course. Then who knows what else the day will bring?

@Alien Aspie Look forward to the 'unique subject' you are about to create, exciting!

Do what ever you do well and with passion. Keep safe.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and. Nope that's it just " and ".

Today a dead pig, slowly roasted inspired 7.0, Me and me's feel lucky it wasn't higher :) .

Up and out early this morning for routine warfarin and liver blood tests, but not A1c this time. My gp's are still operating special slots for people such as myself, thankfully.
The weather is playing fast and loose with us all at the moment, just glad my days of sleeping in a tent are over, but I such happy memories of those days, probably as we all do, such is youth.
Have a great day all koffy is calling and I must obey.

5.0 this morning. Hoping for a 4.8 (the same as last night) but 2nd test was still 5.0.
Tuesday is off to farm day to get the milk and eggs. .Then back to work on the computer - going through course notes and preparing for start back in September.

I have two microwaves. One digital, one analogue (whatever you call that one). Digital one all shiny and red is in front room and is about 5 years old and it is a mystery to me despite instructions. The most I have dared do is warm up a cup of tea or my wheat neck warmer (which I nearly baked and has a strange burnt smell now, I only had it in 20 seconds I think...). The tatty white one with a clockwork dial is in the kitchen and is about a year old. I can cook scrambled eggs in it brilliantly, and nuke bacon, but that is it...

I am not a cook anyway.

You have fun with your projects today @Alien Aspie

Good morning everyone. 4.8 @ 6.58 am - higher than average but at least an hour later so a score draw. So far we have escaped the deluges others have suffered. Regional news we now see ( I really don't want to know about Essex) has videos of people kayaking along normally busy roads and where we previously lived had flash floods. I hope all the tests come back as you want @alf_Josiah and all the creatives manage to end the day with both ears. Mucho tea required and figure out why I slept so late - what ails me if at all?. No, I'm not The Playboy of the Western world. Too spavined to ris me with my loy.

I admit to being one of those men who never read the manual, however, as time moves on I find that I will peruse the 'how to do' sections :)

My thought for the project is a reworking of the 'Miranda-Tempest' which, in all fairness, might be a daft idea ;) I have 'Magic Poser' on my iPad which is a digital version of those wooden models we used at school but it helps my brain.

Fbg 6.1

Raining again. But at least no lightning.

I was tidying and cleaning yesterday, and messed my hand and wrist. But tidying and cleaning needs doing and will be today as well. Maybe tomorrow to get on top of stuff.

So my digital painting today, although started yesterday is nowhere near done. My hand doesn’t have enough control to paint with it.

In consequence, this morning, I have done a quickie in ZenBrush2. Then I put it in Snapseed for the frame and the words.

Something I haven’t mentioned yet. Popeye got sudden onset feline dementia. He was not good and lost the life in his eyes. I finally found a vet who would look at him. But that has its difficulties in these Covid times. You can’t be in the vet room with him. So it was text messages from me in my car to vet. Vet said he thought Popeye should be put to sleep. So, that was me panic stations because vet wanted to do it then. And I was not with Popeye.

So I said NO, bring him back out. I was scared the vet wouldn’t bring Popeye back out. But he did. And I brought Popeye back home.

So research online now I know what it is. What alternative stuff is out for an elderly cat with dementia? He did have all his faculties before this despite being 28 years old. Finally I worked out a package for him. Ordered stuff.

This was a few weeks ago. I now have Popeye back inside Popeye. His eyes are bright and alert. He is not completely disoriented any more and not bumping into walls and objects that he knew were there. He has his sense of orientation and balance and spatial orientation back. He is purring again. He responds to me again. And more. And he has taken up indoor mountaineering, including climbing up my jeans again to get to my shoulders (which he used to do a year or so ago).

He still has dementia, but it is nowhere as apparent. And I do need to tidy up and rescue some of my precious treasured stuff from his mountaineering skills to make it easier for him (but he has not knocked anything off yet).

Anyway here is my Zen quickie. But my hand is not steady.

I never understand worded manuals. Words to explain something doesn’t get through to me. But give me a whole set of diagrams, to explain or even construct something complicated and I can do it quickly.

I have Magic Poser also on my iPad @Alien Aspie I have had it for years, but only ever played with it so see all the things I could get get figures to do and then move around them in3D. But I could do that in my head anyway. I have not logged in for a few years! Just tried now logging in and it gave me 500 Wombat Coins ????? It asked me if I wanted to restore my purchases. So I did. And Yay it is vastly improved from when I last looked in on it. It looks quite exciting for a play! But I have never used it as a direct drawing tool, although my intention when I originally downloaded it was for my my Manga stories. But I only even hand drew them and the frames needed.

Have fun with this!

Thank goodness you took him home gennepher...relieved to hear he has improved & is still enjoying a good quality of life.

Thanks @HarryBeau

He is improving daily. And it is possible to help and improve a cat with dementia. I never knew cats got it. But I know how to deal with it in the best possible way now.

And I get to continue to draw and photograph him now :)

I have trouble visualising poses in my head so it's good to have an external prop.

You said you were interested in how I set things up so here's an image of my initial storyboard for the new project. This is done in photoshop and is a collage of images I like that will lead to the end idea. You can see in the layers box on the right how I put each snippet separate. All the snippets are subject to change and once I get it 'right' I'll balance it better to use as a reference. There will only be one figure in it but I need to 'feel' which one might be better as a pose.

I left the image as a thumbnail as I didn't want to fill the forum page with nonsense ;)

I am very interested in how you set things up @Alien Aspie

I wanted to ask you your processes on this. But I didn't because beginning a project, any project or painting can be a sensitive time to the creative processes and can make one feel vulnerable...it does me.

I look back in here and you have posted your beginning process!!!!

Thank you very much :)

Good morning everyone from a day of possiblities in the dark and dangerous north.

The wonder wheel of another home made Thai green curry with zero rice came in at 4.8 this am

So much to catch up on.
@SlimLizzy - lucky escape - house is an affaire exceptionnelle.

@gennepher - thank you for your comments and love your cartoon - dementia - home is his best place and glad to read that you nursing skills are giving him some quality.

@Muddy Cyclist - thank you for your comments - I am trying for an image a day and at least 30 minutes practicing bamboo with Chinese brushes on a sheet of ‘Magic Paper’ - you just use water and black appears - then vanishes as it dries. The blue on the oaks with some drooping leaves gives your painting an ancient forest feel to me - Druids hunting mistletoe.

@geefull - thank you for your comments - I am told that it is just a hint of what is there that I should be striving for, will have to see. Ian Anderson - superb blast from the past. The inclusion of poppies really draws the eye in your watercolour - just like that little red barrel in Mr Turner’s Helvoetsluys. Smashing understanding of colour.

@Alien Aspie - tech in art - was it ever the same - wait until something produced on a 3D printer appears in the Tate. Pretty sure that David Hockney and Stefan De Groot are happy with their IPads. Looking forward to your next subject. Controls on microwaves tend to become apparent once there is a need. I only use one button - wonder if I’m missing out?

@alf_Josiah - all the best for the apre-lockdown blood tests.

@ianpspurs - more tea, less kayaking.

Today was a practice with Ox cut - needs work. Koffy time.

That is brilliant. What alternative stuff did you get Popeye? I wonder if it would work for people and dogs.

Great art young sir. Thank you for being gentle with me, it was my first time:angelic: (Not exactly true, a few memorable paddles down the Dordogne to Beynac-et-Cazenac and Brantome which tested our wedding vows)
