This is storyboard 3. I've settled on the blue Rhapaelite dress and red hair. I will change the pose as I want her holding a lantern (?) and I'll change the dress colour and style slightly. Changed the wreck into something more dire and fitting to 1850s, added a stormy sky and a few more rocks (you can never have enough rocks). Changed the aspect ratio to give it more of an old landscape style. Layers are up to 9+ and will probably treble now I switch over to the iPad. I'll grid this image so it's reference ready and start silhouetting the layers on the iPad

I can see the importance of layers the way you are working through this.
I like it very much the way it is going.

I wanted you to choose the woman over the man (!) because it reminds me of some haiku/tanka I wrote 6 something years ago

Some fascinating data here:
New data released by consultancy firm Kantar suggests that while shoppers are returning to supermarkets, they are spending less on each trip than before.

Morrisons was the biggest winner among the Big Four - alongside Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Asda - in the 12 weeks to August 9. Asda saw the biggest fall in share of customers, according to Kantar.

Customers spent 9.7 billion over the past four weeks, the lowest level since February, although this is higher than pre-pandemic levels with restaurants and the hospitality sector remaining significantly subdued.

But shopping trends are shifting towards healthier options, with sales of vitamins and minerals up 34%, herbal teas up by 19%, and nuts up 21%, although this was offset by alcohol sales rising 28.3% over the past four weeks.

Charlotte Scott, consumer insight director at Kantar, said: “ average spend drop below 25 for the first time since March. However, at 24, it is still a world away from the pre-Covid average of 19 per trip.”

She said the current average of 14 shopping trips per month per household is lower than it was last month but still up on April and May.

Ms Scott added: “The number of supermarket trips was two million lower than would have usually been expected in the week after the rule was adopted, and currently just over half of shoppers say they feel safe in stores.

Online food shopping hit another new record in the four weeks to August 9, with 13.5% of all sales now ordered online, Kantar said.
Average of 14 shops per month - why? Oh, alcohol sales up 28%. or maybe just the nuts (+21%) to go with it?

That is brilliant. What alternative stuff did you get Popeye? I wonder if it would work for people and dogs.

A low strength CBD oral spray. I give him one spray morning and one at night.
I chose the oral spray because I know I can get that down him easily!

Then I ordered Cholodin from Vetsend online. Obviously I have the cat one. They do it for dogs too. It is not cheap. It said 1 tablet a day per 10lbs. Popeye doesn't take tablets in food, so that is my finger in the lion's mouth to get it down. Popeye is 7lbs in weight. The tablet is flipping big so I halved it. And then I was going to quarter the other half, so he had the right amount for his weight. But he showed an improvement, so I haven't given him the other quarter yet. But I might. I probably should do.

I have a few other things I might add (I haven't got that far yet ), but I was doing this gradually @Krystyna23040

I haven't found one of those tablets for humans!!!!!

@Muddy Cyclist - thank you for your comments - I am trying for an image a day and at least 30 minutes practicing bamboo with Chinese brushes on a sheet of ‘Magic Paper’ - you just use water and black appears - then vanishes as it dries. The blue on the oaks with some drooping leaves gives your painting an ancient forest feel to me - Druids hunting mistletoe.

@geefull - thank you for your comments - I am told that it is just a hint of what is there that I should be striving for, will have to see. Ian Anderson - superb blast from the past. The inclusion of poppies really draws the eye in your watercolour - just like that little red barrel in Mr Turner’s Helvoetsluys. Smashing understanding of colour.

@Alien Aspie - tech in art - was it ever the same - wait until something produced on a 3D printer appears in the Tate. Pretty sure that David Hockney and Stefan De Groot are happy with their IPads. Looking forward to your next subject. Controls on microwaves tend to become apparent once there is a need. I only use one button - wonder if I’m missing out?

@alf_Josiah - all the best for the apre-lockdown blood tests.

It is very useful for practice for bamboo, small birds, and quick sketches, and then your painting vanishes back into nowhere!

You said today's practice was with Ox cut. I did google but I am still unclear. Will you explain please?

That is a very defined mountainous area. I like it.

My fbg this morning was 3.8 I don't know what's going on happening day after day then I normally start hitting high figures later in the day specially after taking preds this morning had some breakfast bg went up to 5.2 or so but now a couple of hours later back down to 3.3 it's leaving me feeling tired and not feeling like doing much maybe I should up my carbs a bit.

Thank you for the link - I shall definitely get the Cholodin for Archie if he starts showing signs of dementia. I have read a lot about CPD oil. Good to hear it does work. So that will be another thing to try with Archie.

When Archie came to us at 10 months old he already had lots of antibiotics for an ear issue. He progressed to steroids. Neither the antibiotics nor the steroids helped and he would scream with pain because his ear hurt so much.

At my wits end I did research - just like you did and found some ear drops for humans with grapeseed oil and tea tree oil. They worked way better than the steroids and antibiotics. They didn't cure his ear problem because we had to put them in every day, but he had no pain and lived a normal life. Our vet totally supported the use of the ear drops - even though tea tree oil is toxic to dogs - but perhaps that is if they consume it.

Then, just by accident, after 13 years, we think we found a cure. He is allergic to very similar things to me - such as wheat. I also have a massive allergy to moulds. Although our house had absolutely no visible mould I read that if the humidity in the house rises over 50 microscopic moulds grow in the air. We bought two dehumidifiers and immediately I improved. What was surprising was Archie's ears were also immediately totally cured. So it looks very much like he is also allergic to moulds.

It is interesting that there are cures out there - it is just finding the thing that works.

There is stuff that will work, but it is finding it.
I think the humidity is higher in my home... and I have two dehumidifiers going. They catch enough moisture even though windows and doors are closed when they are on.
I didn't know about unseen moulds in the air.

I think if I had a muddy bike or a muddy car I could do live sketching, at the moment I only have muddy boots

The method is not much different from how I created websites/pages. Chop up what the client gives me and make something of it

I didn't know about unseen moulds either but read about it when I was looking for a way of improving Mr K's asthma and my allergy to moulds. Up to then I thought our house was absolutely mould free. It is interesting that there is stuff out there that will work = but the tricky part is finding it.

Mr K's asthma improved dramatically = so the dehumidifiers helped all of us.

Over the last few days the humidity has been sky high and the dehumidifiers have been on non-stop.
