good evening all :)

4.3 this morning

shopping (and bin) day again, it seems to come round quickly. I was a bit surprised to realise halfway through the shopping trip that I'm so used to mask wearers now that I only really notice people without one :sorry:
Anyway the goodies have been distributed to Mum and stashed, much coffee has been drunk and now I'm heading for the kitchen to make some lc cake bars, I'm fancying mocha this week, keep the coffee theme going ;)

Hope your day is treating you well :)

@Muddy Cyclist - many congratulations to you and mrs MC :joyful: and what a lovely, expressive card you painted and your finished chestnut tree painting, it reminds me of a cool autumn evening just as the light sinks down behind the hills with the touches of golden light hitting the upper branches of the tree :)

@Alien Aspie - it's been interesting to be able to see the stages you have worked through to create your impressive 'Miranda' painting. Working a painting in layers seems to give a real opportunity to try different things out, I'd probably have sooo many layers, (I tend to be indecisive :hilarious:).

@dunelm - once again an interesting rocky landscape, I like the different textured strokes you've used, they really add to the finished impression :)

@gennepher - I love today's Popeye painting, he looks so content and you really have achieved an expressive piece of art with your minimal style :joyful:

art bit -
the light already seemed a bit autumnal.

I'd painted 3 different Mirandas, 4 stormy skies and 2 seas. Used 35 layers and was trying to remove that silly stone by the wreck but couldn't find it because I'd drawn it on a layer it should never have been on. I may take a break from art for a while whilst I regain my sanity :bag:;)

Ah! The joys of painting with layers ;)

Enjoy your painting break @Alien Aspie

And thank you for the Pre Raphaelite Miranda...

Thank you for your compliment, yes Autumn is knocking at our door.

Another lovely sea/landscape with the detail and well painted light on those distant hills. You have a very good technique like your style very much.

Fbg 6.3

Late yesterday afternoon an internet friend and I were What'sApping, and my Android phone kept going. The ring is off because I cannot use the telephone, and so I ignored it. But I kept getting visual alerts. So my friend said to check who it was by going in the phone app. Normally I ignore all this because I cannot do anything about phone calls.

Anyway, it told me it was Specsavers who I have an appointment with today. It had all been arranged by email and all forms filled in etc last week. My friend said they might be cancelling so she would ring them. So I ended up having to give more personal details to someone I only know on the internet (I have known her for 10 years now on internet) than I would normally do (to a stranger so to speak) for her to proceed with the call.

It turns out they have to speak to me personally (Specsavers know I am deaf and can't use the telephone), so my friend explains why they can't. But I cannot have my appointment with them this morning unless I personally speak to Specsavers, to say I don't have Covid-19 etc etc. But obvious logistics meant I couldn't speak on my friend's phone as she is hundreds of miles away. So my friend had some talking to do with them. Finally she sorted it, and I asked my friend to remind them again I was deaf and I cannot lipread through a mask, and could they wear the transparent face shields. The message came back that they would, but to remind them at my appointment if they forgot.

So now I am even more anxious about this morning.

My painting for today reflects my mood I think. It is an imaginary bird in ZenBrush2 and put into Snapseed for a couple of filters to change the stark white paper which I didn't like this morning.

This morning I realised that my depression is mostly fuelled by anger. At the situation, the re-instatement of quarantine. And a family member who was insensitive enough to post on facebook that the first place to visit when restrictions are lifted would be here. To see Mum. This same family member came to France a fortnight ago. To visit Disneyland.

5.8 this morning and no rain just blue sky. Looks like a gardening day is on the cards then, hedges could do with a lick.

Have fun, enjoy the day :)

Good morning all. I will go with an fbg of 4.4 (Libre assisted) at 5.33. It is what it is - Michelle or Donald usage allowed. How to celebrate St Bernard today? Feasts often imply red meat and I don't want anymore this week. Good to see you back @jjraak - I was wondering as well @alf_Josiah. Hugs to @SlimLizzy and @gennepher. The rest of you, play a straight bat to a straight ball, take each ball as it comes and declare everything to be world leading. If you have friends or loved ones involved in results day today hold them as close as is socially responsible.

4.9 this morning.

Yesterday my trousers suddenly felt quite loose so weighed myself again today and have lost another half a pound since yesterday. So am now half a pound lower than pre lockdown weight. Have lost 2 inches altogether from waist so it has gone from the right place.

My practice Zoom class went really well. I thought it would be hard to teach on Zoom - but it wasn't difficult at all. If course I was only teaching one person - a class of 10 would be harder because the images would be so much smaller.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all who will embrace the day, whatever it entails.

6.8 this morning a manageable number, not prime, but we can't have everything.

Off out earning brownie points today, but all to no avail, Mrs J will delete them as soon as I return, such is my life.

Well folks make the most of today, avoiding the media if possible, grades are awarded on the basis of missed news broadcasts.
Koffy and motorcycle are calling. Bye for now.

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny start in the dark and dangerous north.

The wonder wheel of bacon and avocado salad smashed the barrier at 5.1 this am

Apples - first pick of the year and enough to make a pancheon of apple sauce so this mornings job is to portion it all up and get it into the freezer. Thereafter I might take advantage of the sunshine and see if the bike still works on post bin day.

@Muddy Cyclist - great chestnut - I like the light reflecting off the tree juxtaposed with that overcast dell and background. Light and dark - dawn or dusk?

@Alien Aspie - thank you for sharing the process of layering - wonderful sky - very Shakespeare.

@geefull - thank you for your comments - mocha sounds good - another simply stated autumnal scene - pale light reflects off the water - excellent hills.

@gennepher - big hug for specsavers - take a deep breath. Love the bird - reminds me of ancient Egypitan cartoons sitting in front of that smashing background.

@Krystyna23040 - zoom - smashed it - congratulations on your lost inches.

@SlimLizzy - big hug - very frustrating. Identifying the cause of your depression - will that help?

@ianpspurs - St Bernard’s Day, speak french, use Dijon mustard and smother it on a bit of salmon - drink Burgundy wine.

@alf_Josiah - brownie points may (or may not) be cashed in for miles on bike. Enjoy your day.

Use layers - practice incorporating dots (there is something called a Moss Dot Brush - who knew! Anyhow, time for koffy and our youngest granddaughter has just arrived. Have a great day.

Fbg 4.0 today lovely clear blue sky may attempt a walk in the park later. I had to take daughter to the local hospital for a covid 19 test this morning as she has a couple of outpatient appointments at the hospital next week Judith's second day working back in the office she still is not happy about it.

Looking at a clearish sky the other night it dawned on me the one advantage of MG and double vision is that I get to see a sky with twice as many stars in it than most people and some times two moons can you beat that :)

My Libre tells me in the last 6 days I have had 13 low blood sugar episodes wow.

Proper mixed bag post. Hug for Judith and the office situation - I can fully understand that. Hug for you for low glucose events - did/do/does StabbyMcStabbyface agree? Massive winner for the humour looking on the bright side with MG and double vision - hence the winner rating. I must have said it before but I do like the cut of jib young sir. I hope your daughter's test and appointments go smoothly.

@dunelm it might. Now rationalizing, we had planned visit to UK mid Sept. A month after the trip to Disneyland. Ofc that is now cancelled.
Person posting obviously didn't think how I might view their: Poor me. Not seen Mum since Boxing Day post. (Paraphrasing here) Must try to be less sensitive.
Edited to add: must also keep reminding myself this person would not intentionally hurt me.

Thanks Ian every time I have checked the libre against StabbyMcStabbyface they have been in agreement and I have checked several times but hay ho these things seem to go in cycles next week I will probably be getting loads of high readings it all depends on how the preds and liver feel about things on the day.

Melody is a bit apprehensive because the appointments involve a couple of rather shall we say invasive procedures/tests that may be a little uncomfortable I'm sure everything will go alright though.

PS I have been making the odd foray out onto some of the other threads of late and I think it a bit of a mistake to spend too much time out there in hostile country so am going to stick a bit closer to home for a while.

Hope it does for you. I spent two years being put back together - still get visits from the black dog but I do know my trigger points and therefore know how to deal with it. Some friends of my parents are over in France this week to visit them but staying in their own apartment. Evidently were told when they landed at Bordeaux that they did not need to isolate - they will though next week when they return to the UK. All the best.
