What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Came back on this site a few days ago been a crazy year ( as it has for most of us ) and been on and off the wagon so much I'm dizzy . FBG has been up in the high 8's and 7's did have a few 6's like yesterday 6.6 but a 7.7 today ( succumbed to homemade blackberry and apple crumble ( had custard instead of cream ! ) Anyway maybe being back on here will keep me on the straight and narrow .

Winner for testing, coming back here and bouncebackability - also winner for your excellent choice of food for your oopage.

Does this mean you will write a verse or two to accompany the visual?

I will go for Terpsichore and her harp skills I think, I have a lovely memory of sitting in the forest on Arran listening to a very attractive and skilled harpist. A red-headed Scot so there's my pre-Raphaelite vision

I'd like longer than a day to do it though, maybe it could be a longer group project?

Edit---- @Muddy Cyclist

I'm changing my muse so Terpsichore is back on the table.

Realised I have my own muse within my Daoist tradition so I will be choosing He Xiang Gu, one of the Eight Roaming Immortals and musician extraordinaire. No-one said they had to be Greek

Sounds good and I agree a day won't be enough so a group project is good and let them appear as and when they will. I already have some ideas, possibly a little wilder than my usual style.

Welcome back I hope this corner of the forum helps boost your obvious resolve. 7.7 not a bad result after that sweet treat.

Oh blast just found the loaf I bought this morning is wholemeal, one of the things on MrSlims Avoid List. Will have to go out again to buy some more suitable bread. There is also the fact that MrSlim dislikes wholemeal, saying he might as well eat sawdust.
Bread is doing my head in. Could manage on one shopping trip every few weeks, until our neighbours arrived and insisted on taking me every week. Now am going to buy bread two or three times a week. Just as the Covid-19 is rising so rapidly a second lockdown is looking likely.
Edited to add:
Seems I was mistaken about national lockdown. The plan now is to instigate localised restrictions where and when neccessary.

Starting today I have decided to give the Libre a rest and return to the prickometer for a week or so to see if the resulting readings correlate with what I have been getting with the Libre this morning I'm reporting a fbg of 4.2 but to be honest that is what it was when I got up this morning when I tested some while before that at 6 AM it was 3.7 now after breakfast it has gone up to 4.6 so far pretty consistant with the Libre readings I had been getting.

Interesting post John. Unfortunately for me it gave me a glimmer of hope that my Libre may be accurate and as we all know, it is the hope that kills. I will be interested to read more posts along those lines.

I remember that view well when I lived at Great Ayton on six months attachment.

What are those massive holes in the fell they are incredibly deep?

Afternoon spent over an hour & a half chatting to a friend & colleague...a beautiful day sunny with a breeze thank goodness...I've been abandoned by the cats both of them stayed out last night couldn't even lure them in with their favourite treats...this morning they had breakfast then off out again...that sweet little girl Lola has turned into a party monster determined to make the most of whoever has sparked her interest outside...I've tried to warn her her reputation is at risk she couldn't care less...still nursing a huge amount of paperwork all my time & information sheets are printed & laid out on the desk...another coffee then must get to it...woke to a 6.2...keep safe everyone.

I reckon there is some deep inner strength for us all getting into forest bathing.

It is so interesting how different we are and how important it is to find what works for you. There is definitely not 'one size fits all in relation to T2D.

Thank you. Have bookmarked it on my tablet. Will need to read it again to understand it properly.

My brain feels like it has been fried after a lovely day with daughter and family. It has been wonderful but exhausting.

@dunelm and @ianpspurs an interesting concept that fat is not your friend. I think I have proved over and over again that it definitely applies to me and I really do have to watch how much fat I eat.

I do really well by avoiding all low fat food and sugary and starchy carbs. I can stir fry veggies in butter and still do really well. But I do have to be very careful not to overdo the cheese, cream, nuts and nut butters and 100% chocolate.

For me staying low carb is very important but so are total calories. My diet is still a work in progress.
