Winner for testing, coming back here and bouncebackability - also winner for your excellent choice of food for your oopage.Came back on this site a few days ago been a crazy year ( as it has for most of us ) and been on and off the wagon so much I'm dizzy. FBG has been up in the high 8's and 7's did have a few 6's like yesterday 6.6 but a 7.7 today ( succumbed to homemade blackberry and apple crumble ( had custard instead of cream ! ) Anyway maybe being back on here will keep me on the straight and narrow .
That's not a bad idea, I will get the next heather painting out of my system and start scribbling some ideas. Are the other painters, scribblers, zen artists and procreate artists up for it?
Maybe I could have Euterpe, I did have to look up the muse for music, not that knowledgeable.
Sounds good and I agree a day won't be enough so a group project is good and let them appear as and when they will. I already have some ideas, possibly a little wilder than my usual style.Does this mean you will write a verse or two to accompany the visual?
I will go for Terpsichore and her harp skills I think, I have a lovely memory of sitting in the forest on Arran listening to a very attractive and skilled harpist. A red-headed Scot so there's my pre-Raphaelite vision
I'd like longer than a day to do it though, maybe it could be a longer group project?
Welcome back I hope this corner of the forum helps boost your obvious resolve. 7.7 not a bad result after that sweet treat.Came back on this site a few days ago been a crazy year ( as it has for most of us ) and been on and off the wagon so much I'm dizzy. Interesting post John. Unfortunately for me it gave me a glimmer of hope that my Libre may be accurate and as we all know, it is the hope that kills. I will be interested to read more posts along those lines.Starting today I have decided to give the Libre a rest and return to the prickometer for a week or so to see if the resulting readings correlate with what I have been getting with the Libre this morning I'm reporting a fbg of 4.2 but to be honest that is what it was when I got up this morning when I tested some while before that at 6 AM it was 3.7 now after breakfast it has gone up to 4.6 so far pretty consistant with the Libre readings I had been getting.
Good morning everyone from a very damp morning in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of paprika chicken Heck sausages (2.4% carbs) found in Aldi crossed the line at 4.7 this am
Managed a couple of hours out on my bike yesterday and although the day looked very gloomy, it did not rain until well into the afternoon.
The preparations for MIL’s move is going apace - all carpets that are staying have now been cleaned, fitters coming in on Wednesday to fit replacements, fresh paint added, stardrops flashed onto surfaces and inside cupboards and drawers. Some unpacking of things already transported today. Her move date is a week today so everything moving along nicely.
@geeful - thank you for your comments and glad that you liked it. Rabbits, rabbits - a fine illustration for any Rabbit laden book - made me smile.
@Muddy Cyclist - thanks, yes that leap of faith is not called so for nothing. I have seen planes flying below, Buccaneers, but that may have been up the Lairig Ghru in the Cairngorms. your sketches look promising - the middle one caught my eye.
@gennepher - lovely back story to your sad subject and an excellent piece of graffiti. Manga hero? 20+ layers - you must be exhausted.
A walk that we like doing close to home is up Roseberry Topping and over to Captain Cook monument. An interesting hill with a pagan name that originally was something like Othenesberg. A collapse due to a geological fault or possibly mining gives it a distinctive look.
Koffy on the go, have a wonderful day if you can.

Beautiful geefullhere is the hare, done in a mixture of watercolour and watercolour pencil, based on a photo mr gee took.
it took a while
This week has been much quieter so far...oops realised it's only Monday@HarryBeau Busy but do remember to smell the roses along the way.
Thank you. I took the main features and then just used a paint splatter brush as a filler - not Mrs Miggins’ toothbrush though.@dunelm i have seen the Hill you have expertly drawn but never walked over it. You have caught its Cragginess and Grandeur extremely well, a good piece of art.
I reckon there is some deep inner strength for us all getting into forest bathing.Does this mean you will write a verse or two to accompany the visual?

It is so interesting how different we are and how important it is to find what works for you. There is definitely not 'one size fits all in relation to T2D.@Krystyna23040 @Muddy Cyclist I too discovered the need to count, or at least consider calories, but for the opposite reason. This is why I now drink CWC three times a day. But finding the balance between stable weight and good BG is very tricky.
MrSlim did joke that he would soon be able to post me under the bank door when I was at my lowest weight.
Thank you. Have bookmarked it on my tablet. Will need to read it again to understand it properly. There are some compelling arguments around the idea that eating to your meter is a better bet than trying to keep your blood sugars flat all day.
