What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Congratulations on your anniversary. Mrs AJ is surely the most tolerant and patient of ladies. What a catch she was - batting well above your average there mate.
 
7.8 today despite efforts in the gym yesterday or maybe the increase in appetite because of it ! No it was entirely down to my lack of restraint in the bread / carb overload department yesterday !
 
Fbg 6.1

I didn't sleep well because inside the bungalow was over 20 C again. It was in the mid 20's yesterday outside. And during the night it was 20 C outside.

I gave up on sleep and checked my mail. My friend had sent the drafts of complaint to both MP and AM, the assembly member's one was a wee bit different to the MP's at the beginning, and I wasn't sure. My friend said that for the entire e-mail of complaint, she had simply cut and paste all my grumble e-mails into a coherent order.

I said all that??? In those words??? I did, but I might have been a little more restrained if I had written it from scratch.

The Assembly Member has had dealings with my surgery and the same GP as me (when we still had GP's in the practice), I won't go into details. It was part of a tragic end in which my GP was implicated. And the NHS took over the surgery, but minus my GP whose practice it was. But we still had the other GP's in that practice and the NHS had assured us they would stay. This was less than 2 years ago.

So the Assembly Member's letter makes a referral back to that time. My friend believes that would get him on my side as a cause to fight for. I still feel uncomfortable about that. So, I sent the draft e-mail to two friends. To see what they thought. I have had one reply back saying they were initially uncertain of the referral to that bad time for the Assembly Member, but then on reflection they thought it was okay because it was acknowledging his loss. I am still waiting for a response from the other friend.

There is no rush. This draft can sit for a couple of days while I think about it.

Then I went back to sleep. It was a dull yellow grey sky and rain this morning when I woke up. The air outside had dropped to 15 C, but now the sun has come out and it's rising again. Clear blue skies. So, I might clear out that garage...

But first I need to paint my daily painting...I might play with Gaussian blur in Procreate and try and get a misty version of those wooded trees. It's 9 am. I want to be out there in that sun. Back in 20 minutes with my painting....

Okay. Here is my daily painting challenge for today.
Got the mistiness. Used the soft airbrush. Did Gaussian blur on one of the layers, the bit of detail at the front...the leaves because it was too sharp...and I altered it to a gentle sepia. I was in two minds as to whether black and white mistiness, or the gentle sepia...still not sure...
Done in my 20 minutes including the name and frame in Snapseed.
Bye...I am off outside now....

 
Enjoy the outside. For a non artist sepia seems the right decision. Would belong perfectly in a children's fairy tale. Hansel and Gretel?

Fbg this morning was 4.8.

@alf_Josiah congratulations to you and your good lady make a day of it.

Having a mixed bag of it so far today as my Pharmacist emailed me at 11 o'clock last night to say he was starting the flu vaccinations this morning so nipped over and had my jab this morning arm a little sore but not too bad.

During a phone discussion this morning found out and old friend that has been in hospital a few weeks for a heart valve problem has after being told some months ago that his diagnosis of MND was thought to be uncertain and a misdiagnosis consequently having PIP taken away has now while in hospital had the diagnosis of MND reconfirmed and we also learned the reason we had not heard from his wife for a while is because she has early onset dementia and is in a care home so Judith and I both had a little cry for their awful misfortune.

And we will be praying for them in the days to come.

A brief news black out from the social world,.
as we traipsed our way to Turkey, has now ended.

Seem to be blessed for this trip.

Nephew asked to borrow car, mentioned we were considering parking it a Stansted, offered to drive us up..

Airport the emptiest I have seen it while travelling.

Spotted chap in Airport, no mask...
Ok might have a condition

Same chap sits right in front of me on plane...aagghh.

Most on plane good, stewards had some trouble with a few planks at back, thinking mask not required.

Same little crew disembarked sans mask for everyone's benefit so we knew who the selfish fools where.

And lo & behold, matey who can't wear a mask UK side or on plane, pops one on, before leaving plane,

because the Turks don't care you are a tourist, they mean business, and it's a £100 fine if not wearing one.

It was either the fear of a wallet whacking, OR a Lazarus moment...but my money's on the wallet insensitive....

So picked up at airport, arranged by daughter's friend, some sort of limo, the kind the kids have now for balls etc . and soon in Turunc

Rooms good, quiet, 5 minutes from beach, recommended bar excellent, beer good food cheap...feel like it's my local already.

as a guide, one day in bar eating breakfast & one other meal each.. drinking beers & assorted drinks from 11-5pm
£30....all in.. sunbeds included.
What a hidden gem.

Locals lovely, fellow tourists very friendly too.

Mask wearing moderate, bar restaurants not applicable, walking around 60% wearing one.
So a bit of a mixed message.

Hope all are well.
Not expecting to have to quarantine on return,
But do see numbers rising UK.

Be happy if we have to stay a few weeks more here until the crisis there passes...


Oh, and for those curious, here is my lunchtime view...

Almost makes me feel like renewing my passport.

In fact will have to if I want to pop over to Rome to visit my son any time during the coming year.
 
Out and about yesterday managed to capture a photo of this little bird it was moving quite quickly trying to keep out of view and blending in with the background quite well.
