At least we waited util mid morning on Tuesday to take out a tree and useless hedge. Rule of six, social distance, common sense and basic humanity abandoned at school pickup - Nigel Owens needed. Maybe not for you @ianpspurs, but for me, on the first of September the temperature dropped by two degrees, precipitating me back into my normal state of cold extremities and difficulty extracting blood for testing. Soup is a vital part of keeping warm enough for me.

Many thanks for all the wedding anniversary best wishes. We celebrated with a nice dinner, yep liver and bacon, flash mash and rich gravy.

Morning...more drama here Charlie Cat is now back at the vets with large hole in his neck about the size of a fifty pence piece...clearly he has been 'bothering' the 2 small ones he had yesterday...spoken to my vet not sure what the plan is yet but it may involve him wearing a special baby gro suit that covers high up on his neck...he won't like that but tough...all I can say is thank god he's insured...no FBG no time 7 circumstances not conducive.

Thank goodness those days are long gone for Popeye, although he did make a bid for escape when I opened the back door yesterday, and hid...(naughty words from me, worried he might not be able to find his way back home)...he came back with an innocent face...

Rain again this am, when they promised dry.
It will no doubt be dry later and I shall attempt to cut some wet grass.
11 deg C earlier when we nipped into town.
If we don't get the promised heat, the tops will have a temporary light dusting in a week or too.
Swallows gathering on the wires in village down road and flocks of Pinkfeet from
Iceland have been flying south for about a week.
Hope they left plenty of spoilt spuds on the Lancashire fields for them.
Just ordered 40 kgs of peanut kernels to help our birds survive the winter.

Don't they always gennepher...spoken to the vet Charlie will be home later wearing his body suit he won't like it but he's staying in it...no doubt there will be ongoing follow ups but the insurance will cover that...thanks.

Why not just perfect And establish a working protocol for testing, that IS useful AND Effective, rather the wishing for daily testing, that even they say is not available at the moment

Hug for feeling the cold. These are rather fetching - my latest ones are a spiffing blue. Fortunately, I can wear several layers, from small up to XXL, from October onward. Other brands are available but are far less spiffing.

Thanks he's home now with his spiffy jacket on trying desperately to get out of it...fed him lots of treats and watching him like a hawk...no test results and it's been 10 days I didn't have any symptoms and as it's standard to have one in A+E I'm not chasing it...thanks again

There is a total refusal to engage with reality because his base/support won't accept it. To them COVID is less than flu and the meeja have made up stories and all is going swimmingly. Comment section-BTL- in Telegraph is mind boggling. He and his advisers may or may not know otherwise but they know how to pander to the coalition that put them in power. The rest of us just need to be patient because arguing with them just "proves" they are right. Best tactic is the old yes dear, whatever or thousand yard stare. Similar to other threads on here IMHO.

Am late with my fbs. It was 5.2.

Yesterday I was beyond angry with Boris. At his press conference at 4pm yesterday he said gyms could not have an exercise class any larger than 5 + instructor. Complete misinformation. I told both classes that evening that I would have to move classes to Zoom and could not run classes normally. They were not happy because it was their first class back after the break and they were so looking forward to coming back to classes. They felt really safe as they were more than 2 metres apart. They were completely bewildered by the ruling - as I was.

This is where I have to choose my words carefully. The Government website updated its advice. We can run our normal classes. Boris was talking a load of Rubbish. Grant Shapps was also on the BBC this morning saying that we can run our classes.

This has caused a massive flurry of emails from class members and from our Governing Body.

Very surprising that my fbs was as good as it was.

The rule of six obviously doesn't apply to Barnard Castle, the home of eyesight tests for the needy. How one drives there will be clarified at a press conference for some but by a hefty fine for Joe Public.
