What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

@dogslife oh your poor mum! I hope she'll get sprung from hospital pronto-- no fun for either of you. Sending a hug. Your exhaustion and anxiety is why we had to move my mom 600 miles to my city-- so at least I could sleep in my own bed after whatever awful thing might be next rather than a hotel. I feel for you.
Good night good morning all!

Fasting sugar reading 10.5 at 6 am

It seems I nearly always have a high sugar reading early morning. But I have tested myself during the day, and find if I have scrambled eggs and cheese for breakfast around 10 am ( my reading is about a 7 to 8 half an hour later), and then vegetables and meat/protein around 2 to 3 pm then my late afternoon reading is between 7 to 8.

Coffee with a little cream seems to help stabilise blood sugar readings.

I tried eating a little something in the evening but that upset my tummy, and food made no difference to the morning fasting sugar reading of just over 10.

Still experimenting to get that morning fasting reading down.

Have a good Sunday...windy and rainy here...
>^..^<

A pretty good sleep last night - only woke twice as far as I can remember but drifted off both times.
Hobbled down stairs this morning to take a handful of pills given to me by Aunty Inflammatory; I have had a large helping of arthritic pain for the past couple of days (both feet, right leg, lower back, left shoulder and elbow and right wrist) - wonder if I could get the part of Uriah Heap “ever so humble Master Copperfield.....”.
Anyhow, the wheel of happiness, laughter and spontaneity rewarded me with a 5.0 at 0700 this am.
I had planned on a motorcycle ride this morning followed by a walk down the prom but may have to settle for dragging my sorry arris round the house for a while in order to loosen things up a bit.
Have a great day if you can, contemplate bit parts in 1960’s horror movies if you can’t.

Morning All. 6.2 at 08.30 which is later than usual so thats ok. Had a very nice outing to an Indian restaurant with friends last night so thats all good. It was a really cold night here which was why when the heating kicked in at 0600 we drifted into comfy slumber. For some reason have a very gritty feeling eye today which feels but doesnt look bigger than the other one. Might have to check in with the clinic tomo because I am driving to Kent Tues back Wed.
Have a great Sunday everyone. Stay well, stay safe.

good morning everyone :)

4.4 today

had a busy evening yesterday ;)

went shopping in the afternoon and scored three packs of cubed steak, a large pack of nice sausages and two packs of ready made creamy mash in the 'whoops' section of the Supermarket to go with the large pack of sausages and two packs of mince I went in for. Spent at a least a couple of hours cooking everything, of course I also had to peel a big pile of veggies too. My 'dogs' were barking by the time I'd finished :hilarious:

Since I found the mash I'm making some 'ready meals' for mum's freezer, shepherd's pie and bangers and mash with onion gravy. Might do a portion of stew with a small dumpling for her as well. I'll portion up the rest of the cooked meats this morning now that it's completely cooled and bung it in our freezer to act as meal bases for mr gee and I.

Found one of my old recipes for chocolate mousse which is mostly just egg and dark chocolate (not as dark as the chocolate we eat now but I can always add some erythritol), so I'm going to give it a try for today's dinner at mum's.

Hope your weekend is treating you gently :)

@dogslife what a horrible day for you, hugs to both

Thank you @zauberflote for your understanding words. It must have been really hard for you living so far away. I am fortunate to live close enough to mum's to see her every day but each day brings new challenges. I rang the hospital this morning. They are going to do another physio check this morning to see if mum can walk without the pain medication from yesterday and will ring us to see if she can come home. Best wishes.:)

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all those wearing sweaty trainers in Mordor ( London ) today, yesterday we walked part of the route, lots of big arrows pointing the way. Good luck to all partaking in the marathon.

This morning an aggressive 8.2 leapt out of the meter, slapped me round the face saying " I told you not to eat cheese late in the evening ", then hid behind the kettle.

Well folks don your running shorts, trainer's and vest's, not the gravy stained one, a clean one. Make a koffy or tea then sit comfortably on your sofa enjoying the marathon.
One of Mrs J's bridesmaids is running the marathon today. Mrs J and all of me's wish her well.
Enjoy our day and look up yesterday's Matt cartoon from the Daily Telegraph, not diabetes related and not for cat lovers, but very very funny. Yes it was on the front page.

Sympathies for your aches and pains dunelm. Blame the weather! When I was younger my older relatives used to say their aches were due to the weather and I thought this was an "Old wives tale" but I'm beginning to think there is some truth in it now! Hope you feel better soon.:)
