I didn't realise animals got dementia. It is so good to hear that he has such a good quality of life and such a caring owner
Such a pity, hope you still managed to have a decent afternoon.Hi, we went out this pm for ride because it is such a beautiful day.
The Lakes were absolutely mobbed with cars and people not knowing how to drive on narrow roads!
Borrowdale was particularly bad with parking in passing places, narrow sections and double yellows. There was no chance of using my free N.T. car parking in the Kettlewell or Great Wood car parks?
Visitors must be using the Lakes in preference to going abroad.
There is more peace in our garden but it was 8 deg C this pm at home but 12 at Portinscale where visitors were in tee shirts sitting outside the pub eating.

Do you know the pianos on my foot? Says one piano mover to the other!27.09.2020
6.50am FBG 5.8
Bit of a baking disaster first thing. Started making nut granola yesterday, but with one thing and another never managed to finish it. So this morning added from memory spices, sweetener, salt, and oil. Shoved both tray in the oven. Somehow I have both over salted and over sweetened both batches.
Ofc now I remember it's only 1.5 teaspoons of sweetener not the two tablespoons in the recipe. Luckily only put two teaspoonfuls, but it's still way too sweet. And for some reason added half a teaspoon of salt. Usually sprinkle lightly.
Am considering baking another two batches without salt or sweetener and mixing them - but that way I could end up with two months supply that isn't nice...
@Muddy Cyclist glad to read the back is improving, also that you are obeying MrsC
and not attempting anything too strenuous.
@lindisfel How can anyone sing with mouths shut?
Thanks Dunelm, every day of life is a good day at 81.Such a pity, hope you still managed to have a decent afternoon.
PG Tips advertDo you know the pianos on my foot? Says one piano mover to the other!
No, says the other.....You play it and I will hum it!
Yes, it was a steal. It was the thought of humming hymns in church to keep ones mouth shut that set me off.PG Tips advert
This may or may not be of interest. Virtual Harvest Festival from the not at all Frozen North. I liked the service very much but am even more aware now that having only moved 25? miles I really don't connect with this area at all and miss the Church in my home village immensely.
Thankyou. As for space it seems it's the singing and blowing musical instruments that is the concern, maybe it is, seems still much to be understood about Covid and its spread.@lindisfel have not previously been a lover of fuschias, but this one has flowered all summer, even after parts of it were knocked flat by the flood and is still going strong. The contrast of golden leaves is striking against the leylandii hedge. Maybe we need more fuschias in our "garden"
@gennepher how is Popeye doing? And be careful up that ladder.
@dunelm am enjoying your digital art.
@Krystyna23040 we too had strong winds causing some problems, hope all is well now, both weather wise and otherwise and that you manage to get some rest today. It is Sunday after all.
@Muddy Cyclist Love the pool painting. It does seem ridiculous that in such a large space still only six people are allowed.

Thank you.Stunningly beautiful and calming. Good to read that your back is improving.
My fbg this morning was 4.7 I am using the libre once again for a while.
My son Brother Ade as he is now called is off to Italy Rome to be exact tomorrow for the several months to do a course so won't see him for a while.
After the course he will be staying at a friary in Italy located up in the mountains for about a month it has been a friary since the 13th century and is one of the oldest in Italy he is so looking forward to that.
These are a couple of pencil drawings he did a short while ago he is far more talented than I.

Thank you. French Horne now that's impressive, lots of puff needed? Our Recorder Quartet is known as the 'Humpshire Huffers' we all originate from Willenhall and do a lot of Huffing.good afternoon all
4.4 yesterday and 4.3 today
dilatory posting from me, must do better
Chilly weather here even though it's fairly bright, I don't like being cold since I lost weight so I've got an extra layer on already
Still lots of visitors about here too, some masked some not although most locals are pretty good about wearing them
Hope your day is treating you well
@SlimLizzy - mismatched electrical and plumbing bits are a real pest aren't they? You have my sympathy. Nice fuschia, the double blossomed ones are pretty but I prefer the single ones myself, the flowers don't tend to get so weather damaged.
@JohnEGreen - Brother Ade is very talented, hope his travel goes ahead well
@Alien Aspie - wow that's so detailed, really impressive
@dunelm - I'm glad your dad is making progress
I love your cliff face and tree, the tree looks so firmly rooted in it's space and I find your tree rings curiously satisfying in a metaphorical sense, they remind me that time passes and things grow on regardlessyour bamboo is satisfying as always
@gennepher = Zenbook painting, I like the misty sun reflections
Popeye making a stylish model again, I'm glad he's responding well and enjoying your shared life
That's a pleasing waterfall, you have captured the movement of the water very effectively.
@Muddy Cyclist - I love the finished pool painting the water is beautifully rendered and as always your handling of the foreground is impressive
Music making at the moment is rather subject to the whims of fortune by the look of it
In my youth (mispent or otherwise) I played french horn in a small brass ensemble (5/6 of us) and we used to play medieval 'tower music' as part of our repertoire, might be just the thing for the current circumstances
the exercise was beneficial too, lots of steps up to those towers and balconies
Glad your back is settling down a bit now, careful not to overdo it too soon.
art bit -
curiously, like @gennepher I too painted a waterfall which will be in the next batch of scanning I do.
two bits of art since I missed posting yesterday
no 1 - the sunset was curiously bright

Very blustery here but did get 6 miles up and down the beach. Very few people about. I have a roll of drawing paper that we got from Ikea for the grandchildren to draw, paint and crayon on. I am using it for daily doodles and sploshing with ink.

So far Popeye knows where the cat tray is, unlike humans with dementia who mislay the toilet. And so far he knows when he wants to eat and wakes me up for food. He also knows the time, eg midday he always wants to go in the potting shed (before dementia that is the time he went into the potting shed for warmth from the sun). I don’t know obviously how things could change yet.I didn't realise animals got dementia.
That is sad if they can't function.
I wonder if they forget they have eaten? Or even forget to eat?

Thank you @Muddy Cyclist@gennepher thats a mighty fine waterfall you have certainly captured the movement in this sketch, can't be easy with just fingers but you have certainly mastered the digital art.
