good evening all :)

4.6 today

sorry for the lack of posting, my anxiety is giving me a bit of a rattle at the moment. Must do better :sorry:

We spent two days last week working round medical appointments for mr gee, the first was for him to wear a heart monitor for 24 hours, this involved a 75 mile round trip to the hospital (and more car park time for me ;)) but fortunately they allowed us to drop the unit off at the local health centre for return :)

then he had his first appointment with the diabetic nurse. It seems to have gone well and his feet etc. are fine and of course he received an information pack pushing low fat and 'eatwell' and the 'other' diabetes website :banghead:

then mum insisted on going to get her hair done and pick up her own pension on the bus, she is stubbornly independent which is a double edged sword. she ended up having to wait ages for the bus back and then fell at the bus stop. She says she was just really tired and cold and there is no seat at the bus stop anymore :( Did she phone us? No! although she had our mobile phone numbers with her.

anyway she is feeling fine again now after a good rest but she has decided she won't go in on the bus again, we will take her when she wants to go. We would have taken her anyway, but she wants to be as independent as possible.

I'll try to catch up on the thread bit by bit, hope everyone is doing ok.

art bit - still trying to do something every day and mostly succeeding.

another wave - this one is my version of a work by Poppy Balser who's work I like :)

A hug for what happened to your Mum and Mr Gee's medical issues - but a Winner for the lovely picture of the wave.

Suddenly later than expected, how time flies when you have been having fun. :)

Daughter gave me some games and once they had left Mrs MC deciphered the rules and we tried them out.
Mancala Kalaha a board game. For two players and Kana Gawa a strange Japanese art game.

Any way I promised cake :) Mrs MC cooked a Victoria Sponge filled with Strawberry Jam, Cream and Strawberries, delicious.

I did not bother taking my BG after meal, it will be interesting to see what Morning delivers.

Study of a horse as practice for drawing cats.
I tried to follow the outlines of the horse I saw in the texture of the paper. Last night I sketched one and managed to make him sort of 3-dimensional, but I couldn't repeat that with this one. I have no training whatsoever in drawing other than a few months at school when I was 13, and wasn't taught anything about depth of field(?) or dimensions then.
This was an attempt to draw the horse of the friend who wants the drawing of the cats. I know what he looks like in my mind but I can't get what I see in my mind down on paper. He is a dapple grey but looks more like an Appaloosa doing his rain dance that was supposed to be Airs Above the Ground.

I can sympathise with you - my parents are both fiercely independent but we have persuaded them that if they do any gardening then they must both be together and carry a phone.
Lovely wave lifting up - I can hear it from here.

I’m not that hot - in fact not even tepid when it comes to animals, especially horses - even that Stubbs geeza couldn’t quite get it right.

Simple 6.0 this morning and a pale blue sky to start. Ladyship duties today and for me, there are legal matters to sort out. Nothing serious so a good day ahead, probably get roped into a garden centre visit as I heard mumblings of it.

Enjoy the day :)

Cleared skied, if not cleared eyed morning today with temperature dropping near freezing here on England's northwestern border.

Hope the rain stays away because I definitely need some exercise.

As suspected he didn't do enough, soon enough and Boris is living on a wing and a prayer and no signs of the cavalry on the very distant horizons.

Have a great day everyone.

Fbg earlier today 6.2

Painting for today in iPastels
This is more the direction I want to go with the pastel painting in iPastels.
Something that is not so clearly defined.

A direction that worked brilliantly, I do like the feel, colour and creativity in this piece of art, more please.

5.2 this morning. As usual am relaxing with a coffee. Had a lovely relaxing couple of hours in the pub/restaurant across the road to where I teach classes.
I sat next to a radiator with my coffee(s) relaxing with my newspaper. I was the only person in that part of the restaurant.

Today will be doing the same.

Was quite shocked that 3 UEA students held a party for 100 people in Norwich. The 3 students were fined £10,000:each. I think that might deter other students from holding similar parties.

Its amazing how in the Oceans these super waves occur when all the energy vectors converge to such an extent they are dangerous to shipping by their magnitude.

One sees it on a small scale way when looking from shore on rough day when looking at the sea driving on to the shore and this picture is an excellent portrayal.

All that stress and you have still managed a wonderful wave, so much movement.

Hugs for all the issues you are juggling with at this moment. I suspect non of us like bothering our children as we grow older and less able, I know I'm guilty of it. It certainly doesn't help though so it good news that mum agrees to future lifts.

Good morning everyone from a three tiered victoria sponge cake rule of six reggae dub of a morning in the dark and dangerous north.

The wonder wheel of slow roasted lamb and a coaxing of mint sauce came in at 4.9 this am

A mixed bag of weather yesterday but did manage to get a couple of loops round the park without a drenching. Sloes out of the freezer and into some gin, bread making and a dozen cheese scones.

Some interesting heat seeking graphics from Jonny Van Tam yesterday before a melange of unrelated words, interspersed with the odd greko-latin burp from buffoon city.

Still, all will be revealed today when the house has “debated” the odd phrase by taking it in turns to stand up (sometimes remotely) and blather on about totally pointless items interspersed with words like “furlough”, “tier”, “guidance”, “museums”, “trains” and “the honourable Jammy Dodger for West Suffolk”. I shall be doing what I have done for the best part of this year - avoiding people, getting phobic about hand washing and wondering why my old Zorro mask is now not fit for purpose.

Some ink on some rice paper, trying to be frugal with the brush. I wish you the best day that you can have. Koffy

Good Morning and 5.7 for me, maybe I should eat more Victorian Sponges as it's got my BG below 6.

Some glossin g of skirting boards today, so will be trying to avoid fluffy brushes and sore knees.

Tonigh two eldest grandaughters and my son are arriving to celebrate my birthday of yesterday. I have a friend who's got 17 grandchildren so just think how many celebrations he could have under Covid rules. :)

Time comes, goes and does not stay use it wisely. Keep safe.

What about the others involved, who attended the party? Did they also have financial consequences? Hope they were all obliged to isolate, but very much doubt if they would.

I'm not sure as it's most likely the bank of moms and dads who will end up paying. Those attending also knowingly flouted the rules so that's a lot of youngsters who obviously don't really care. I can only hope that proportionally this is still a minority of the younger generation and that the greater proportion who I still believe have respect continue to do so.

Cat to vet. He didn't like his new transporter basket and cried all the way.

@Muddy Cyclist I used to play Mancala, but now have entirely forgotten the rules and objectives. Do remember it being fast and fun though.
@Krystyna23040 wonder how/if those students can raise £10k?
