What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Thank you, I often think I should just stick to quick sketches.

Do like your watercolour, the usual magnificent hills in your watercolour style.

Scary how we change on this management of Diabetes, I have gone from a 38" waist to 31" and can't bring myself to throw away my now too large trousers just in case.

Well @dunelm thanks for being optimistic about the home made Walnut Ink.. I had ago at two Oak Trees behind our house. The ink is not that dark and so layering is the only way to get variety, it also smells very vinegary so not pleasant to use but here are my efforts, done with a rigger brush A4 landscape on sketching paper and A5 portrait on watercolour paper. Quick working as I was needed by Mrs MC in the garden to move a rose arch....

Stunning.

Brilliant majestic sepia looking trees @Muddy Cyclist

Fbg 6.7

I had an attack of the nibbles yesterday hence up to 6.7...

Just got a consignment of eBay postcards I bid for.

This next one is for @Alien Aspie
Remember Birmingham New Street when it was like this?
And the huge massive flea market which sold everything under the sun (and somewhere below...)?
I loved that flea market, was always there in the late 60's...

And this is for those of you who may remember this...a little more genteel...

...and now The Sunflower Kid has to get ready for the bank....

@geefull - thank you for your kind comments. Another subtle watercolour from you. Great mountains. I like the tree and the colours that you got into the grass.

Great sepia colours in those magnificent trees. The layering on the second sketch works well and could probably be built up into something fabulous given a few hours - or days. From what I can remember from back in the day when my mum was into au natural tie-dye, the vinegar and possibly a pinch of salt acts to preserve the ink.

Thank you, I may do some more work on it to see what happens. Interesting information about the vinegar.

I remember both.

Take care at that bank, don't make any sudden movements when reaching in your handbag.

Good morning fellow travellers on the three tier ticket system from the dark and dangerous north.

The wonder wheel of winner, winner, chicken dinner rolled in at 5.1 this am

A seaside village quite near here called Staithes has a beck running through it and a foot bridge connecting both sides down by the lifeboat station. One side is in North Yorkshire and the other in Redcar and Cleveland. Confusion reigns as each county is on a different covid tier. I can’t see the problem - just figure out which pub is open.

In other news it seems that young Master Macron has been bullying in the playground because nobody likes him any more since he started brandishing his fishing rods. His teacher, Mrs Merkel, has given him a sharp slap on the leg and told him to behave or he and his Italian gangster pals will spoil the euro.

Anyhow, here is a go at Robin Hoods Bay. Hope you all have a spiffingly good pre-bin day - don’t forget to stock up on tins of spam and sardines. Time for koffy.

5.4 this morning which is rather good considering.

@gennepher I also remember both. One of my joys as a child (and teenager) was getting roast potatoes and chestnuts from the stall near the market. The trains stations and goods yards were regular haunts as my grandfather was a train driver and would take me to see 'interesting' (his word) steam trains. I still remember going inside the first diesel loco at Tysley yard, he hated them as they 'had no soul'

4.8 this morning. Off to the farm to get milk and eggs shortlt.

Downloaded a game of mah jong on.My kindle fire. The only problem I find with mah jong (and Suduko) is that I find them a bit addictive. A bit like coffee. The perfect morning - playing mah jong and drinking coffee.

Morning everyone. I can't tell you my fbg as I'm still not checking but whatever it is will be the result of eating just about the only LC food I want for now. Great fbg @Muddy Cyclist, usual high quality post and nice low fbg @dunelm, lovely postcards @gennepher , wonderful memories @Alien Aspie (for me anyhow), I hope the milk and egg collection goes well @Krystyna23040 . @geefull your usual great art and those photos speak of an amazing journey with LC which explains all the stellar numbers and control. @Muddy Cyclist I'm not sure about walnuts but I really like the smell and (taste) of vinegar.

wonderful memories @Alien Aspie

Indeed they are, he was a mighty figure in my life and his love of engineering rubbed off, just as my grans nursing stories and textbooks gave me a passion for medicine. I remember vividly his collection of Toby jugs and cuckoo clocks.

It wasn't all good though, things were very different back then (as you know) and he was a ethnicist, as was my father oddly enough. When my mother eloped with my dad he disowned her and didn't want to know us until I got polio. He did become very close to my dad in the end and died when I was 12. He taught me so many things, from how fascism was very bad to pornography! He gave me a pen that had a picture of a lass in a bathing suit, when you turned it upside down her suit would disappear
