Thank you, I often think I should just stick to quick sketches.good afternoon all
4.3 this morning
rain, rain and more rain but at least it's not cold
been working on some more wardrobe pruning and some cupboard sorting, I found a small stash of summer things put away in a box under the spare bedroom bed, I'd forgotten how big a size I used to be double the dress size I am now.

Hope your day is treating you well
@Muddy Cyclist - it amazes me what you can do with five minutes fantastic sketch and lovely colour
- plum crumble
@dunelm - another interesting technique, I wouldn't have thought of adding colour to the reverse of the translucent paper. A good landscape enhanced by the subtle touches of colour
@Alien Aspie - I love your Jinn, a lady of mystery
@gennepher - sounds like you had a positive day. I love your tree painting, so much life
the purple hat is a keeper

Stunning.Well @dunelm thanks for being optimistic about the home made Walnut Ink.. I had ago at two Oak Trees behind our house. The ink is not that dark and so layering is the only way to get variety, it also smells very vinegary so not pleasant to use but here are my efforts, done with a rigger brush A4 landscape on sketching paper and A5 portrait on watercolour paper. Quick working as I was needed by Mrs MC in the garden to move a rose arch....

Great sepia colours in those magnificent trees. The layering on the second sketch works well and could probably be built up into something fabulous given a few hours - or days. From what I can remember from back in the day when my mum was into au natural tie-dye, the vinegar and possibly a pinch of salt acts to preserve the ink.Well @dunelm thanks for being optimistic about the home made Walnut Ink.. Remember Birmingham New Street when it was like this?
And the huge massive flea market which sold everything under the sun (and somewhere below...)?
I loved that flea market, was always there in the late 60's...
