Great artwork hence the winner rating but so sad your friends feel the need to prepare for the worst. Hug is not enough for that.

Fbg 7.1....yep..i had Chips..

Got email yesterday, so comfort food required for madam..seemed rude not to share her food when offered .

So we are now 2 for 5, on the holiday front
Getting refunded for one more failed run at the wire.

By lauren's count, that 14 flights, there/ back & internal we've missed out on.

She's seeking solace in one last supper pre lockdown

I'll be another one glued/ not glued to the election night news.

Think the night itself is only going to be chapter one, in a much drawn out dangerous story, with the ending one of those where no one can be confident until ALL the votes are in.

Hope for all there, it's a peaceful transition.

Some understandable anxiety about because of That Vote ™ and lockdown 2 so perhaps the long view exemplified in this piece will be uplifting. Well I liked it, anyhow.

I needed an afternoon away from reality after having my spirits uplifted by my mornings Muddy Cycle ride and the beauty surrounding us that gets forgotten in these troubled times. So locked myself away in art room, listened to Bach Cello Sonates and tried to capture the autumn heathland. Lots still to do I will finish later this evening. I have put two stages to view for those that like to see the process. A4 watercolour about 1 hour so far with drying time.

Now to face the world, my escape is over.
 
good afternoon all

4.3 yesterday and 4.7 today

cold and bright early here then windy, chilly and wet
We've picked up mum's shopping list, tomorrow is the weekly supermarket sweep

I liked the autumn branch of leaves and your floral is lovely and your poppy painting is a thought provoking and timely reminder

I do like both your pieces of work, quite different but both strong. There is so much light and colour shining through the avenue of trees and the light on the water under the bridge is well painted

@Muddy Cyclist - Glad your fibromyalgia is settling a bit. Both of your autumn tree paintings are good but I can understand why you prefer the second, it really is extra! that sky is stunning
your new heathland painting is coming along strongly, thank you for showing stages in the progress, it's always interesting to me to see

no 1 - a quick ink sketch



no 2 - having a try at a dramatic sky inspired by a photo seen on the internet,
still need lots of practice but I'm not too displeased with how it turned out

You sketch reminds me of some style I have seen in the past, can't remember who, what, but I do like the simplicity of it.
Painting, well there you go again, empty landscape with tremendous depth, brilliant and the sky is excellent. I'm with Mrs Gee and @ianpspurs more red wine, I have a glass right now.
 
Hold you hard @geefull (well, Mr Gee) and @Muddy Cyclist. I certainly didn't vote for more red wine. I just said it didn't seem to be as bad (for my resting pulse) as I previously thought - massive difference. At 6 glasses per bottle I'm ok for a year or two to test out the tentative green light.
