4.7 yesterday and 4.7 today

a rather wet morning today but a quite pleasantly mild afternoon the snow has all melted at our ground level.
Italian meatballs for dinner today with a toffee cream mousse for pudding

@dunelm - fine complete landscape yesterday, I like the mountain villages in the gorge and the waterfall. I also like the colours you've used, restrained but effective Todays trees against that beautiful sky are very pleasing. As ever you manage a detailed painting within the size limitation.

@gennepher - hugs for the mice, little bandits Mum sometimes gets them in her kitchen area too but fortunately usually in the washing machine /sink area and we can use poison bait behind the washing machine. I try to store all her stuff in plastic boxes. She has a couple of those pottery hens she keeps her eggs in and the lids are pretty heavy so we haven't had that problem thankfully. Goes with living in a country area I suppose.
I like your art, the perspective is very effective in the tree painting and today's is wonderfully gothic a story you could walk into.

@Muddy Cyclist - striking frosty painting and I always find it instructional to see the stages you go through. The restrained palette works so well here.

art bit - a very quick pen and wash sketch just to try out the Koh i Noor 'anilinki' dye style paints I bought with my last amazon order, wow they are bright and saturated. I don't know about mixing, but they do have yellow, cyan and magenta in the set of 12 colours I got so I may try some limited palette sketches with them.

I like your anilinki painting. I have those paints too, they are very intense colours. It is a few years since I used them, and my set has gone very dirty looking, I have mixed my colours, but I cannot remember now, except I used them a lot a few up years ago, and they do go a long way. I used them for experimental stuff.
I will have to find mine!!

Didn't eat much yesterday, but carbs were higher. I need to be under 20 carbs a day, and yesterday was around 50 carbs. I need my eggs, but still gone off them, and I still have to shop for more...maybe after tomorrow's hospital appointment..

A quickie digital sketch this morning.
He is asleep at the mo, but came in the kitchen with me last night, and his face says "I can't smell any mice..." There was a horrid smell of something yesterday...so I used bleach...

Not sure yet if I have been partially successful. Some choccy went in the night, but nothing else, and they didn't breach my line of instant potatoes (I can tell the direction they have walked on kitchen floor from that...)

I would dearly like them to relocate to Mr Intolerable Insensitive next door....the mice restaurant facilities will be far superior there...

Anyway a quickie this morning as I have stuff to do.

Morning all from a virtual locked down North Cumbria. Carlisle has reached c.1,150 cases cases per 100,000.

It is half that locally. However our local butchers has been closed due covid and they keep their doors open wide throughout opening hours so it must staff driven?

We are continuing to keep our heads down, the next distanced interaction is when a young vet puts the groceries in the boot of one of our cars and picks up a cheque on her day off volunteering next thursday.
Of course we will have a quick garden chat.

Good Morning and 5.5 for me today.

Dull with heavy rain forecast in the next couple of hours so will give Muddy Cycle ride a miss. Looks like a day in doors.

The mice I had a few years ago liked peanut butter. I hate the stuff. But I bought some to put in the mouse traps. However they still didn’t go in them.
But what the little blighters did was to roll the closed jar of peanut butter towards their entrance at the back of the under sink cupboard. Alas for them it didn’t fit through their narrow entrance gap....

Awoke from a horrible dream, that I was camping on the White House lawn when an unsmiling Orange Dotard glared at me from an upstairs window. Counting the days.
Rushed downstairs and registered an FBG of 7.2 mmo/lt at O545 hrs.
Weather feels so much better today, already at 6 C. No excuse now for avoiding the oil change on the boat. (Yes, boat maintenance is permitted if one stays solo)
 
Good morning everyone from a dull, windy start to the day in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of sausage cassoulet came in at 5.7 this am - must be because I called it a cassoulet instead of a casserole - foreign cookery terms are tres difficile after that there Brexit.
Some foot ball happened yesterday - some people happy - some sad. I can tell because there are people on the box saying “and yeh” every 10 seconds with a football scene in the background.
Art today - this time on a small piece of grass paper - it’s quite a bit more delicate than rice paper but has a nice texture - about 3 x 3 inches. Hope everyone has a pleasant day despite closure of butchers shops, thank goodness for the spirited help of volunteers. Time for koffy and then think about how I can avoid participating in what Mrs Miggins has in mind (evidence of furniture moving in one of the bedrooms).
