What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

A good Muddy Cycle ride managed three hours so more than happy. Heathland wasnt showing signs of Spring yet but still beautiful and full of promise.

So second in my series of stormy heathlands reflecting the colours of the Heath into the sky.

A4 watercolour will finish Thursday as it's a tad wet to do more on at the moment...

Good evening all

4.6 today

shopping day today which went pretty well apart from the rain.
I bought a box of fancy Yorkshire tea bags, tea and malty biscuit flavour to try, could make a pleasant change

Hope your day is treating you well

@gennepher - I'm glad Popeye is back to his usual self and I like both of your paintings, the blossom is lovely floating on the breeze and the second one has quite an ethereal feel

@dunelm - Nice scale and detail in today's landscape, quite a panorama. I like the yellow back wash you've used too

@BRSBRI - welcome and a pat to Arthur too

@SlimLizzy - glad mr slim is making some steady improvement

@Muddy Cyclist - Splendid sky to begin your next in the series and I like the colours you've brought into the base washes for the landscape

art bit - bit of an experiment with interesting and mixed results, I decided to try transfering the rainbow colour onto a wet area of the sky

Fab bunch of guys and gals on this thread!

Chicken dinner with broccoli and a cheeky wee glass of Merlot finished at 530 (early I know). Bloods just taken show 6.3 so not that bad I suppose for a newbie.

Have had a spirited discussion with other ½ (read row) on why I am not allowed to order a Kia Stinger as my new wheels and to think of the environment. So that's the end of that. My BG will now be 20+ !!

She's now watching @geefull The Steamie with an empire biscuit. Nothing for it except to take Arthur out for a walk and bend his ear. At least he only whimpers and nods.

Hope everything's well no matter where you all are....

Thank you.

Good to see you experimenting, rainbows are notoriously difficult and those hints of light diffusion in clouds even more so. A great la escape and good effort with spectrum light.

Hi all.

what a GREAT day.

while it might not seem great to others
trust me, from where i sit it was fab.

late wake up.
Stil in the BOND Zone re fbg
7.1 for anyone asking.
( First rule of FBG Club JJ, never talk about FBG club, miserable fail right there... )

So up and dressed a quick bite and out.
( One crutch, very occasional use.)
into car, boots and ankle binding make driving acceptable.

Pick up niece, not seen since early Dec
off to cemetery to lay flowers,
My Mum & Dad, her Mum & Dad.

weather rainy/drizzle, while we are there, then began proper raining as we left.

Despite our worries and woes, we both acknowledged how lucky we were.

One row back, one graveside all prepped for another family that we had spotted at the graveyard chapel,
to say that final goodbye to a loved one.

while our day may have been not as we wished, we knew another's was far worse off..RiP

back to hers for a cuppa before heading off home.

Good news and bad news here..
so look away..

Bad news is now got covid...

Good news is it was deliberate and part of the vaccine roll out.

Little suckers racing around my blood stream doing it's thing, so all good.
arm ok, no nausea headache etc as yet..so all A-OK.

all well organised.

orderly queue in to medical centre (Not my local one)

pre flight check to see if...

A. it's me
B. other health issues blood thinning etc
C. Crucifixion or freedom,

.."freedom.?....REALLY..
mmhh...ok, left out of door, join queue.."

Appt was 6:10, jabbed at 6:11..not bad
(pfizer if interested)

Bet Nurse says it to all the BIG boys, but felt good at how she seemed amazed i didn't bleed out after she did jab..
(well you wouldn't at £ that price per pint..)
No blood whatsoever, she said.....hope that's a good sign..

off to join others in recovery area, Just in case.
a browse of the phone, and 15 mins later headed back home.

THE joy of the day..?
sad but true, was actually..........

walking, 'almost' normally around Sainsburys.

yeah sure, boots done up high and strapping around bad ankle (the right one, left broken too, but it's the righty that the issue right now.)

but Big Boy steps, mommy... heel to toe, steps, no limping along...Whoop Whoop

Joy, joy joy..

What's that you say.. surely this or that was better, surely..?

well first off.
Don't call me Shirley

and secondly. Don't care...
nope, not one bit ....

don't care.

Because from that low ebb i was at, just before Xmas,
THAT unexpected feeling of walking Normally even if for only a minute or two...

THAT felt GOOD
made me feel I'm finally on my way up from the depths i was in,, and can now see the LIGHT, once more as i rise slowly to the surface..

And while even on a good day like today, i still can't get anywhere near the 10k steps club,
and i'm NOT even close to steps-club 7k, on that score.

I did however manage 4k steps today.
from 40 steps 8 weeks ago.....I'll take THAT all the long day..

a way to go, ? ...........yeahh.

But from here...One hell of a day.....

whoa...NICE.

Sure she may relent, in the meantime, at least the dog appreciates the company..

( Shame it's so slow, though...
Must be those extra two wheels slowing it down... )

Looks a treat and a nice turn of pace, tbf.

Oh, and a welcome from me, to the best little part of the forum.

Hey @doglife, looks like we're covid twins...

hope all went as well for you as it did for me.

Similar theme for me on the time.
I had all day choices but took the late one 6pm, in the hope those less able might have found it easier/safer to travel during day light hours.

went on scooter, couldn't have been any easier for me.

was a hug at heart but went agree, for the one above.

first time back in India after DX i found out lads thought i had cancer i was so thin in comparison to before.

a bit plumper now, but feel better for it.

good luck with Numbers, hope they are all in range.

I love the beginnings of this one @Muddy Cyclist

Hope the fancy Yorkshire tea bags lived up to expectations @geefull
Here's some fresh milk to go with them...

Thanks for the painting compliments. Popeye is proud of his one!

A beautiful painting from you.
You are a braver person than me, attempting rainbows.
Brilliant!

This is best I can offer for the Kia problem @BRSBRI

You are doing brilliantly @jjraak

Good morning from very rainy Bath.
FBG this morning is 6.4mmol.

I dreamt last night Susie, one of the managers in our local Marks and Spencer was serving me broccoli ice cream riding a talking horse called Charlie. This is all because I was forced to eat the green stuff for dinner without a blindfold or sworn affidavit.

Breakfast this morning is an omelette with mushrooms and smoked salmon to fortify me for the continuing row over "No, you're not getting a Kia Stinger", from a wife who says she saves the planet in her Abarth Fiat 500....

Happy Thursday all!

Good Morning and 6.2 for me today. Higher tha. I expected but there you go.

Wet here but can't go out as a well known retailer is bringing or new dishwasher anytime between 9.30 and 1.30 and we are drop 18, Sounds risky on the Covid front so I will be asking them to leave it just inside front door.

Keep safe and well.

I recall the tale of the newly weds. On their return from the honeymoon, wife turns to husband and says, “ now that we are married perhaps you should get rid of your motorcycle?”
“Blimey, that sounds just like my ex”, he replies.
“What! You didn’t tell me that you were previously married”.
“I wasn’t”.

Thanks! Let's see if breakkie in bed before the day kicks off helps
