What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

John Campbell has the Black dog from from time to time.
He keeps one on his window sill with a face mask on, perhaps it keeps the real one at bay?

Good news on the jab and still working waterproof.

Great hungry bird although I feel it's beak may have been inspired by the thought of the reason you are off to Eboracum today.

Good salmon and avo salad day y'all. Swipey claims my fbg today was 5.0 which if close to reality isn't that bad but ..... Thank you for the congratulations on what wasn't there yesterday @Krystyna23040 , @Mrs T 123 and @geefull - I think I thanked everyone else yesterday. Apologies if not. That issue is parked for 6 months. Meanwhile I need to adjust my set and replace a few valves on this WOE and abode. Neither is completely fit for my purpose. Today's art reminds me of those railway posters - Skegness is so bracing type - @gennepher. B/W TV? I have a b/w photo, from a local studio so dressed in romper suit obs, of an 18 month old (1956/7 ish) me standing next to our Mk 1 TV. Six-Five Special anyone? Tea, cricket and grandchildren today for me

Good news on jab#1! A picnic sounds great - you could tell plod it was part of a very essential journey! Cold chicken and if you weren't driving a cheeky wee Beaujolais to accompany! Yum
All the best from them thar parts!

I know I work in hi tech for big juicy, but some folks sometimes take it too far, even for me!

In the words of Chris Whitty - next slide please !

your very welcome mrs T 123, i think everyone needs to have a bit of positivity xx

Had a look.
A very comprehensive listing.

Do so agree with people getting help.

I was very wary, the word mental, was my block
I'm a reasonable chap, nuanced and capable of making rational decisions...why would I ever need help.?

But I found myself floundering a few months after DX

I can't prove in my case, it was T2D related, but strongly suspect it had a major impact.

But I caught myself looking on as acted out of character and became a lot more anxious after each occasion.

Eventually I gave myself a good shake and read up & Done something about it.

First few minutes with therapist, awkward but after that I just spoke easily.
Helped in some ways

CBT helped me more, when I had that.
It didn't "cure" the issue, but I just tend now to see it as an impairment that arises sometimes, like a cold or flu, that when it comes, I can do some 'thing' about it.

The CBT, like LCHF, gave some tools to help manage and minimize it when it occurs.

I'd certainly recommend it to anyone else suffering.

This morning I did an experiment. 2 egg omelette and a can of Danish mackerel in spring water. Door bell rang. Burned/singed omelette with very crispy sides.

Went for a belt on the trike followed by a jog with Arthur the standard poodle.

After all that BG 2 hours after was 5.1.

So it has been proven that a burnt omelette which was practically inedible is brilliant for mid morning bloods.

A two egg omelette has only 2 carbs burnt or unburnt.

A belated catch up on my AWOL FBG.

Was found wandering, clearly distressed babbling about those "darn 7's ".

Life otherwise, progressing
Legs function improving daily
The other unused muscles that had an extended Xmas break now moaning that the furlough is over and it's all back to work.

is mumbling by that rabble rouser, hips, that a walk out may happen, already has back, backing him up, and protesting loudly
Rumours of the MST union (muscles, Sinew & Tendons) being more militant, but i don't think they are all talking to each other like they used to, so will probably just grumble with little action.
Trying to convene meetings to sort the issues, trouble is letting each one think IT's the important link in the chain

Highlight of week
Early week, managing to walking down front steps slowly, but in a grown up fashion.
Last night's..
Taking out the rubbish, first time I've been able since December ..Hoo rah.

Boring but interesting to moi.
( Give us a break, I've finally got some freedom back )

Dropped scooter off for some work, decided part of my rehab, would be cycling.
So I Boris biked it back....

Took slow route through park.
Noticed outdoor gym, locked up, but I was curious, so stopped to check out what type of machines it was.
Found this little fella darting across the machines undecided which to get on.

Btw steps averaging 6k, up from a sad 40 11 weeks ago.
all slow as hell, so not really doing anything, but boy each one felt good

If you go to York, you have to be able to run fast to get out of the way of all the Vikings and Romans!

Do you ever get a chance to take that mean machine of yours round Oliver's Mount?
We had a transmitter on the top.

Ah happy days of innocent childhood, no one doubted the gender of Andy Pandy!

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all who suffer from " Black dog " to use a ChurchillIan phrase. More common than people think.

Well a 6.5 this cold morning. I'm saying nothing about that meter.

Well another busy day planned, making planters and repairing chairs using that glue that some people have been using as hair lacquer.
Then a brief foray to do a shopping click and collect, well Mrs J will, me and me's will be doing multiple walking laps of the car park to get some exercise while keeping well away from people.

Stay well, stay safe and stay warm.
Remember to smile at a stranger, bark at a dog and give the postman break today.

Oh forgot to say tweet at a bird or two, the feathered kind.

Good progress @jjraak. I would take a look at your heart rate and compare to % of your max (220-55) more than step count. Pretty sure my hr for a given workout is a better guide to how hard I work. In other news, we could be on course to be back in Cyprus this October/November . Hopefully on a flight without celebrity bakers overdosing on "free" champagne please BA Grandson's class on a video conference sharing fossils - virtually. No jokes about mine showing his grandpapa.

Truly I do understand. Have been there with no income and no hope myself.
Virtual hug coming your way simply because there is no other way to expess my fellow feeling and good wishes for you.

Firstly belated congratulations on the wonderful news.
must be a relief to get the all clear, and good they are still keeping an eye on you

HR..Oh ok..might take more note now you've said that.

yes indeedy, madams been all over this since jab
BOTH are needed, and perhaps no Q at this end
(she's suspicious we will be slow letting go of that q goldmine, for 'trusted friends' No bungs required obv all above board here in HMS UK )

personally think once others see Cyprus the chase for the tourist dollar will break the da- am.
so other may follow.

we booked early june, turkey, rather unlikely, but she is eyeing up Cyprus/Greece, so who knows.

Thanks @jjraak. We moved our 2020 booking to 2021 no problem. Now looking at switching packages. Early November with BA probably safer (more vaccinated folk, clearer picture) than mid October with TUI . European Club class BA definitely more socially distanced all round. This time no celebrity baker on our flights please BA. You don't need to drink Champagne for 4 hrs just because it is "free," especially if you can't hold it in well. I also like breakfast by the pool and sunbathing/pool time whilst the hotel interior is decorated for Christmas and it is frosty in UK. We may loose a little money if TUI keep our deposit but COVID has shown me you can't put a price on safety and peace of mind.

Before you all start popping winner at me, this does not tell the whole story as my body has started to complain about over indulgence in carbs.
Excuse me , must dash, again!
