Good morning everyone from a bright and breezy start to the month of May here in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of roasted porc belly, crackly crackling and a Matterhorn of home made apple sauce charged home at a flat 4.0 this am - go figure!

Daughter had her first encounter with the gom jabbar on Friday and then a re-enactment of Solomon Grundy yesterday so we had the girl in the bubble while she played the man flue card. Took full advantage.
Ride To TheWall - an annual event at the National Memorial Arboretum. Registration for this year opened at 7pm last night so hovering about on the website and got my place secured. It did not take place last year so had to get in early as numbers are limited. Over 3000 bikes registered within the first couple of hours - hope we are all out of any and all restrictions by October. My maternal grandfather’s name in carved into the memorial wall.

Art bit - version 2 of this particular bird pair. Hope that 1st May is wonderful for you. Koffy time.

Right I am back...to mither you lot. My internet went down, so I disappeared into the garden to repair the damage that badger clan did...

Do you think, if I left my phone noise alerts on, which tell me there is noise in the garden when the badger is here (and wakes me up with the torch light flashing away), AND that I managed to obtain one of those noisy football whatumacallits, open a window and crank that round and round, it would frighten the badgers away?

It would certainly wake up those Negaholics next door...and by the time they looked out, there would be no lights on in here...

Fbg 6.9

This digital painting was meant to be a quickie. Took me 25 minutes in the end, so a relative quickie.
I saw a bright creamy yellow moon this morning, so plonked it in here...
Some experiment in this Procreate digital painting as well.

Funny image of mad football supporter doing a midnight rant to an audience of badgers. Neighbours shocked out of bed - curtain twitch - nothing to see here.
Super creamy yellow moon in an electric blue sky. Love the pool fronting the hill.

Good Morning and 7.5 for me today. Probably the piece of Chestnut En Croute I had yesterday lunchtime as I can think of no other high carb food I eat yesterday. Yesterday's readings before Chestnut 5.4 2 hours after 6, evening 5.3 after evening meal 5.8 so why the huge number this morning? Could also be caused by the £590 I unexpectedly had to pay for new tires on Wilfrid yesterday, tread looked OK but my friendly mechanic noticed some cracks, young eyes, in the walls. Is it me or are these pieces of rubber lasting less and less miles?

BBQ with son today and some welding of horseshoes to make a climbing frame for the garden. Still all that hot metal will keep us warm. :)

Keep safe and be amazing.
A hug given for confounding readings - might be dawn phenomenon but it could be Somogyi effect where blood sugars drop quite low during sleep, triggering release of hormones and a high blood sugar rebound. Maybe experiment by taking a small amount of fatty/protein before bed - a few nuts might do it but you could search on the net.
Tyres - Mrs Miggins broke out in worn tyre rash this week also. Have a great day with the welding.

5.6 this morning. Was 3.9 last night but definitely no lows during the night and a nice gentle release of glucose from the liver this morning. So hopefully no more drama from the liver and pancreas today.

Also am really pleased that the antibiotics so far are not increasing blood sugars.

Classes today and then two whole days off. Really looking forward to some rest and relaxation and catching up with reading.

Good post and yes @ianpspurs i have thought these may be a problem now. I know that for some time these foods have not caused me any spikes but suddenly perhaps they are. After meal readings are always low 1 or less but have noticed they may be the effect of higher fasting Readings. It's all a changing minefield, I shall find away through it I'm sure but what a pain this journey is.
I'd substitute pain for challenging. In my case a failure to carry out proper due diligence. Told I was T2 needing metformin I panicked somewhat, read the glossy lc brochure promising all inclusive painless swaps, lovely food and impressive results. Think Timeshare. Too good to be true? Faulty alarm system at that time. Foundations need underpinning now. My own fault but very frustrating plus the Better Angels of my nature often take holidays as I get older. Whilst the survey and prospectus were sub-optimal I signed the contract. You deal with this more gracefully than I. Huge respect Sir.

My blood sugars go higher than I would like after eating some foods, even my safe foods. With me, it is very dependent on the time of day of eating foods. And it also appears my control of my blood sugars is dependent on me eating in a short window. However, I cannot eat too much in that short window or else that will make my blood sugars spike (even my safe foods), that is I am not sure I am eating enough food.
I am experimenting at the moment.
I also have to eat in a short window and had the same issue of not eating enough. This, I think, is where the cream consumption came in as a way of upping my calories. Unfortunately it got out of control.

I agree that getting this right for our own bodies does require some experimenting.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all who are a touch grumpy on this wonderful morning.

5.8 this morning on that evil misbehaving meter of plotting and down right deviousness.

Strange, amusing bunch of posts this morning, just imagine combining @gennepher , @dunelm and @lindisfel and the Right Rev @ianpspurs posts.

Dunelm riding his motorcycle to the wall waving his football rattle in one hand in his other he is looking through the binoculars at the birds while the Right Rev Ianpspurs wearing his foot the ball supporters shirt is trying to conduct a memorial service for those who lost their lives in conflicts after the second world war.

Leaving that image planted in your minds me and me's will run for cover.

I do agree that this is a minefield. Or maybe it is a bit like walking through a minefield blindfolded and desperately trying to guess where the mines are.

Another dastardly plot. I actually think that it would work. It would be fun doing it.

Winner for securing your ride to the wall, hope it happens.

Those two birds are not looking so hungry this morning. :)

Thanks, I will certainly give this a try. I had an Aunt who lived to 105 and her take on her longevity was she always took a flask of tea and a cheese Sandwich to bed for midnight snack, maybe she was right. :)

Yep all my own fault I enjoyed food and drink far too much, still do but under stricter rules. :banghead:
