I am glad I do not live near a volcano. I would happily view from afar, although my father in WW2 took photos of Vesuvius when there was some lava advancing and it engulfed a small building in front of him. He told me as a child that the lava only advanced slowly....(?!?) Now I am foolhardy, but not that quite foolhardy...It recalls a scene one may get at dawn at the volcanic irruption on Iceland.
Some of those net videos could make for an interesting subject for art.

Hi birdies! Maybe @dunelm will find you some little fishes...Good morning everyone from a decidedly wet and bouncily noisy start here in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of chicken parmesan with stir fried greens came in at 5.4 this am
Eventually got out of bed at 7.47 but no leaving on a jet plane just yet, the ankle bracelet of ‘let’s still not go anywhere, anytime soon’ forced brain back to reality. Still, a good thought while it lasted. I expect that our first trip will be over to French Froggy France to visit my parents. Mrs Miggins’ car still in garage at point day 3 - they are awaiting a part - at small length of non-essential looking plastic that wraps into the door frame as the door shuts - mechanism covered by warranty but part needs paying for - £15 - holly molly!
Art today, first of two - but might be three - of two birds wading about looking hungry. This one quickly painted using a wet brush on unsized yellow rice paper. Hope that this rain does not fall on your parade. Time for koffy.

The plants absolutely love that rain @lindisfel , especially the very fine Misty rain which reaches the parts a watering can is unable to...
Afternoon.
Busy morning here
FBG 6.4
Off out to be a grease monkey and dabble with scooter
btw, anyone else not getting alerts to new posts..?
last ones i'm getting are yesterdays, and even they were inconsistent & didn't work as desired.
Enjoy the day![]()
My blood sugars go higher than I would like after eating some foods, even my safe foods. With me, it is very dependent on the time of day of eating foods. And it also appears my control of my blood sugars is dependent on me eating in a short window. However, I cannot eat too much in that short window or else that will make my blood sugars spike (even my safe foods), that is I am not sure I am eating enough food.I am so pleased that you thought my reply makes sense. When I finished the post I got up to start preparing my lunch and my hands and arms started shaking and I felt weird. Did a quick blood test and it was 2.9. Checked again and it was lower. Decided not to panic and try to raise it artificially with glucose as I am not driving this afternoon nor do I take insulin - so ate half an enormous avocado a felt a bit less shaky.
Will have my planned meal of the rest of the avocado and some smoked mackeral. Then mascarpone cheese with 20g of raspberries then a top up of protein powder and psyllium husks.
Nutrient dense to me is just those types of foods. Ribeye steak, shoulder of lamb, eggs, cheeses, nuts, seeds, berries, Greek yoghurt, kefir, veggies (mainly above ground but others like garlic and onions are very nutritious). All as you say are very good for you.
I don't personally try to avoid a raise after meals and count a spike as going up more than 2 after a meal. For me to have no rise after a meal I would have to avoid my yoghurt, kefir, seeds, nuts and a small amount of berries that I really enjoy and that would make my diet absolutely unenjoyable and not sustainable long term. So I am aiming for good enough to reverse the neuropathy and improve eye health (which it has done) but not perfection if that means no rise at all after a meal.
I am sure that cutting down drastically on cream and increasing protein is doing some interesting things to liver and pancreas at the moment. Wouldn't it be lovely to have X-Ray eyes so I could know what exactly is going on.
Update: have now had lunch and coffee and don't feel so weird and shaky.
Good start for your Hungry Bird series of paintings. A whole 15 quid for car parts, outrageous.Good morning everyone from a decidedly wet and bouncily noisy start here in the dark and dangerous north

Thank you.Welcome to May everyone. Quite the day May 1st. Wonderful photograph from before WW2 - 1937/8? - of my late father and uncle dressed for the village Mayday parade. (Huge resemblance to cousins and our boys.) Both now lie within 2 metres of each other until the Day of Judgement. May 1 is also the feast day of the two Apostles our two oldest sons are named for. Hopefully not as per Flanders and Swann The electrician cometh to call. No fbg as I'm still waiting for any effects from Vacc #2 to drop out. Apologies for any of my posts which seem dismissive. God is working on me but I'm a stubborn old goat. @Muddy Cyclist something to help with your odd fbgs of late and our joint scepticism.

Good post and yes @ianpspurs i have thought these may be a problem now. I know that for some time these foods have not caused me any spikes but suddenly perhaps they are. After meal readings are always low 1 or less but have noticed they may be the effect of higher fasting Readings. It's all a changing minefield, I shall find awaythrough it I'm sure but what a pain this journey is.My feeling is that if carrots and onions don't spike you they are absolutely fine.
Winner given, but hug for low number also needed.I am so pleased that you thought my reply makes sense. A moon 'Plonked' into a very well painted landscape, love the colours.Right I am back...to mither you lot. My internet went down, so I disappeared into the garden to repair the damage that badger clan did...
Do you think, if I left my phone noise alerts on, which tell me there is noise in the garden when the badger is here (and wakes me up with the torch light flashing away), AND that I managed to obtain one of those noisy football whatumacallits, open a window and crank that round and round, it would frighten the badgers away?
It would certainly wake up those Negaholics next door...and by the time they looked out, there would be no lights on in here...

This digital painting was meant to be a quickie. Took me 25 minutes in the end, so a relative quickie.
I saw a bright creamy yellow moon this morning, so plonked it in here...
Some experiment in this Procreate digital painting as well.
