Good morning everyone from a wonderfully quiet start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of people round for dinner and try not to get too near the desert came in at 4.8 this am

A mad and pointless search yesterday for one item of clothing and the shrug of oh well. Dinner last night with in laws was fun though. Keep away from the treats, the sin of all that pudding is gluttony - you are OK with pies though because the sin of pi is always zero. Off to look at a property this morning - do we need to do this, can’t we order online? Fig tree is getting desperately near to blocking the light - do we prune now or just leave it ? All these questions and it’s not yet 7am.

Art bit - I am doing trees, here is one I did earlier. Have a great day, must make koffy.

Photo taken in the early hours when I am half asleep. I was thinking at 2:37 am what shall I take a photo of today. I reached carefully and slowly for my phone, Popeye was lying under my chin. And I could see his white nose. If I have nightsight setting on my phone, as long as there is a pinprick of white or colour in a sea of black, nightsight will see more than I can with my naked eye at night. I can't move my body at all, because Popeye will move and he feels chilled out and relaxed and in a good position for a photo.

But I couldn't do it, the phone screen just wouldn't find his nose however I gingerly angled the phone. So, then I took photos of other things. I was still barely moving, and only my right hand very gently (I was still hoping for some Popeye photos). There was the red dot of a switch turned on, and then a fan I had on, and then some white clouds in the night sky. They all made for intriguing photos.

I tried Popeye just one last time. This is my last shot I took. All I could see was a bit of the white of his nose, nothing else. I turned the camera round to self mode so I could see at least I got his nose. Then the Pixel did its magic with nightsight...

SUCCESS!!!!

This is exactly what the Pixel camera took!

I am now going to have a cuppa and play with some digital software on the iPad with this to see what effects I can get. iPad has a bigger screen to work with!

The black and white stripes are my t shirt. This shot wouldn't have worked if I wore my usual coloured stuff. And it sort of looks like extensions of his whiskers :)

I am pleased with this. I am not easily pleased with my finished work whatever it is.

As you can see Popeye has his eyes open. He is watching my face all night...
It is only when I get up for the day he then relaxes and goes into a very deep sleep.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen from a wet Tilehurst Towers.

A 6.8 this morning.

Well fellow posters, painters and gamers where are you starting your own day from? What are your plans and hopes for today?
Here today will be a continuation of yesterday's task list, heavily amended yesterday by Mrs J, with extra tasks added, such as cancel the click and collect shop and visit the supermarket instead.
If I am very lucky I might just get to do a little woodworking and plinky plonky practice.......Hotel California has never sounded so bad, but it is such a lovely place .

I must warn you all don't believe the news about an imminent hose pipe ban, it is fake news. Don't mention sprouts.

Now I must depart and make koffy.
Stay safe all and try to bring a smile to a strangers face.

Thanks @ianpspurs :)

Yes, I do virtual house viewing tours online @ianpspurs and @dunelm
I would need to know the bungalow/cottage I would fall in love with was around, even before I put my bungalow up for sale, (but I do know it might be gone a bit later). When I downsized I had a massive Edwardian house, 13 rooms, and I miss the size and being able to migrate from one room to another, but I did not miss 4 flights of stairs...

Hug for missing the space from your previous home. Can't say I have ever fallen in love with a property except our last home. Built on family land, designed and largely built by my dad, myself and family members. Nothing will ever feel like that for me or quite be any kind of "home" again. Julie didn't have the same connection so the move hasn't impacted her so deeply. However, IMHO God's Grace has been and is enough to see me through with the prospect of a return to The Land of MY fathers alive and aware. Bg control is a central plank in that - my Gold medal dream. T2 doesn't define me but that precise terroir does massively.

5.0 this morning. Had a lovely relaxing day yesterday and did absolutely no work. Our walk around the Water Gardens was lovely and relaxing. Mr K had a delicious sausage roll and it didnt rain until we got home.

It feels so good to be at the start of a 3½ week break. I am hoping to get lots of admin done before daughter and family arrive on Thursday. Before I start though I shall have another coffee, catch up with the forum and start reading Saturday's 'i'.

Hugs @ianpspurs for the longing for your previous family land. I hope your dream comes true.

My longing comes from two of my childhood homes which had family history attached. The main one was 'modernised' by idiots in the 1970's and thus totally destroyed.

My 'dream' is all the features of the two farms and land which are dear to me. So, in a sense this could be called an 'impossible' dream, but I have created it in my mind. And so it is out there somewhere ..

Hug for the modernisation and missing of the farms and land. Dreams/longer term goals are good essential IMHO, especially in these (truly dystopian?) days and terroir exercises a huge pull on many of us. Very biblical for me, OT Covenant in my mind. I always knew I would need to downsize but in a very circumscribed area. Looking back, my teaching was at its best once I had moved back into my home village. That's not opinion, results reflected that clearly. They don't make outstanding Pomerol in Hackney:bigtears:

Fabulous shot of Popeye - who looks like he is thinking,”what is she doing in the middle of the night?”

Had a brilliant day. Done lots of admin, dog walks, power walking, cycling on my static bicycle, press ups and squats and read Saturday's newspaper and did a Suduko. Drank far far too much coffee though.

Hello all,

I'm new to this and I don't know where to start.

So on the 1st of July I went to hospital as I was getting chest pains so they checked me and everything was OK. The nurse did a random glucose and it was 21! What a shock. So the next day I immediately went on a keto diet and IF (after Dr jason fung and other ppl I searched on youtube) and within a month my numbers started to drop (my sis had GD and gave me her tester) by the end of the month I was getting readings in the 5s 6s and occasional 4s. But for the last week I've noticed more readings back in the 7s and 6s and some 5s. I'm worried I'm going backwards :(

I was 159kg on 1st July and now I am 141kg so I've lost 18kg in less than 6 weeks but I've got a long way to go.

I havnt officially been diagnosed but sure I am T2. I also have fatty liver.

Has anyone experienced a slight rise like this? Then it gets better? Does it need time?

I'm not on any medication except vitamins and Berberine as I want to avoid medication. Plus I feel like constant checking is driving me insane.

Thank you! P.s I have medical anxiety so pls be nice and I am in Australia so we go mmol.

Today's fasting at 8am was 6.5 but I do get DP and after exercise it's been rising to 7s (which rarely did that a few weeks ago)

Morning all And hi. First time posting in here. What an amazing wealth of experience, knowledge and support! Taking control of my t2. Been increasing exercise over last three weeks and last week did my first fasting mimicking diet/low carb cycle last week. I have highish FBG in the morning (around 8.5 usually) but 7.1 just now, and at present not able to get that down much. Comes down later in the day but usually have a peak around 9:30 without anything to eat before it drops a bit, then have gradual increase from about 10:30 on (even if haven’t eaten anything!) before goes down in afternoon for a bit before starting g to rise again (again even if I haven’t eaten). I am losing quite a lot of weight, about three quarters of a stone in about 3 to four weeks. From what I read in articles and forums, it takes a while to come down due to the body releasing glucose from fat stores. Does this stop when the fat has gone? I think, but am not sure, that for some ppl insulin sensitivity improves when the belly fat goes? And if you do it just right you might get some new pancreatic beta cells (the wee jobbies that make and squirt out insulin)??? Could that be too good to be true?

Hello @Jojo85
Welcome to this (slightly crazy) thread.
My readings can vary during the day, and it depends on what I eat, what sleep I have had, if I am stressed or not.
Have a good day >^..^<

Hello @Jfb123
Welcome to this (slightly crazy thread)!
I am still in the journey of trying to improve my T2 diabetes.
It's an individual thing, I think, our journeys. We are all a bit different.
Take care and have a good day >^..^<
