What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good to hear from you, all the best wishes to you back and hope that your old house sells quickly.

Thank you @geefull and yes, sometimes a bit of colour helps to give the monochrome a bit of a lift. A beautifully moody painting from you today - I can see the wetness on the rocks and back into the mountains.

5.0 this morning. A lovely day walking around the grounds of Blickling Hall yesterday. Then a delicious meal at the Bucks Arms which is right next to the visitor centre. We were really hungry after all that walking.

Then a lovely relaxing evening reading and drinking coffee.

Today am working most of the day and also doing a couple of 1:1s in the evening. It is raining so I don't mind working today.

Good morning everyone from a dull yet feint promising start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of salad days with a soupçon of cold protein came in at 5.4 this am

I came back from our little house on the prairie yesterday afternoon - a visit to the house we are buying to do some measuring and write down complicated numbers by magically transforming sound waves into text on my telephonic device. My daughter, who accompanied me was well impressed, “dad you can use a mobile phone after all!” - I can also build and operate a Sinclair ZX81 and bang out a flamenco using two soup spoons but why spoil the illusion.

Art bit - went mental - plonked a tree atop a rock and then added colour - have a wonderful bin day if you can (comiserations if your bin is collected on the wrong day) - time for another koffy.

RIP Charlie Watts

Happy national bin day, in a bit of a rush this morening, taking Mrs J for an eye clinic appointment this morning.

An on the limit 5.0 today.

Must dot and dash, I think I shall play the sound track to that Oxford television series Inspector Semaphore on journey to the hospital.

Welcome to Wednesday chums. The new Swipey seems to be taking some time to settle or else I have totally lost control. I won't stab so no numbers today. I seem to have the family cold, full on sniffles, dip in sats and raise of resting pulse. Grandchildren seem to be superspreaders which will be a problem for a few days. 1 gel today, initially 2 gels and a boy tomorrow, all 7 and their parents by evening. Something called a "takeaway curry" planned for Thursday evening - zero chance of me eating that. Enough upbeat verbiage from me. Fine pieces of art @dunelm and @geefull. Both multi skilled as well. Amazing transformation once again @gennepher. Yesterday sounds wonderful @Krystyna23040. I looked at the Bucks Arms menu, couldn't see what I'd eat but was very attracted to non LC dishes - boy do they charge for fairly ordinary wine. Hope all goes well for Mrs Alf young sparrow me owl. Orf to Ely then I may watch cricketers shiver in the frozen norf.

Ah the family cold - I missed it so much last year

6.7 this morning Blame it on the Boogie ( opps no I mean the bread rolls )

Good to hear you are on the up @lindisfel - so good, so good, so good. Thank you @dunelm and @Krystyna23040 for the actual or implied wishes for #coldgate to "do one" sharpish. Nursery and sorft play are a real petri dish for all kinds of evil . Not the progeny of the great unwashed, bugs.

Hi all not much going on in my end of the woods lately blood sugar fasting was 4.7 today

Just back from diabetic Eye screening so am now going to lie-down in a darkened room for a while.

In the car park of our local co-op shop last Saturday afternoon a couple of guys amused themselves by raming each others cars until one of them got fed up and got out of his car brandishing a machete and proceeded to hack at the other's car till his opponent decided to leave..

The world has gone truly insane..

FBG 5.8 best result for days.
Catching up on posts after missing a few days.
We are now in the UK, despite the French border force person telling us our vaccine record card was not valid. For a few minutes we were not getting on the ferry, then she said there had been someone else with just the cards earlier in the day and they had been allowed through, so she would let us go. Honestly why is it always us?
Passport Control didn't like our attestations, saying we will need full residency status by October. Or they wont let us out of France. As if we can do anything to hurry the bureaucratic process.
Of course we still have to persuade them to let us back in.

@geefull mocha icecream sounds wonderful. Have you put the recipe up anywhere?

@Krystyna23040 Do you like wodgames as well? Am playing wordscapes

@dogslife hugs for the unexpectedly high FBG

@gennepher four strays now? Have I missed somethuing

Hi @JohnEGreen a winner for the blood sugar fasting reading and hopefully the eye screening will be all in veins - lots of them and no damage. What excellent entertainment you have in your co-op car park. The machete is a bit much - why spoil the art form that is crash test dummies.

Oh the nightmare that is bureaucracy and the French are gold medal winners in that activity. I have heard that applications for Britons' French Brexit residency cards are stacked to the roof. I wish you well and hope that your time back in the UK goes well.
