Friend took me to Newcastle Freeman today to get my pacemake battery checked. Looks like my battery change will be in the spring so I may go to Carlisle instead, its getting too much going across to Newcastle.
Hope you are all ok, although I dont know much about art I find dunelm and gennephers conversations and art work very interesting and certainly prolific.

Good to hear you managed to attend the appointment and that the new battery may be fitted both in warmer weather and closer to home. How very kind of your friend.

Creative for today.
New pens from Amazon, marketed as Calligraphy pens. But they looked more like Fude pens in the photo. I have been looking for new soft tip Fude pens, but the ones I wanted needed to be ordered from Japan, a bit costly, and I wasn't sure about taking a chance on customs.
These were 5 refillable pens and a refill ink for £6.99 for the lot. People were complaining they did not get what they ordered, or the picture was completely different than what they ordered.
I like a gamble, why not? So I ordered some.
Surprise surprise, I did not get what was on the picture!
I think I got better.
6 pens and no refill ink.
3 of them are nice thick/wide Fude pens.
The other 3 are narrow/thinner ones.
They are definitely not refillable.
I cannot get them apart!
I can see why the term 'calligraphy pens' upset some people. They were expecting the English flat chisel tipped pen. But, for goodness sake, look at the photos provided. The clue is there in black and white in the shape of the pen tips.
How long will the ink last? No idea.
But I have just ordered a second set at that price...
Just a quickie here with the broader tipped one. And some spray water. And that gorgeous weak, yet bright sun breaking through clouds that I saw yesterday.

Six pens for £6.99 - bargain. Smashing tree. I like the way this ink leeches into the water. Did you use a resist for the sun?
 
5.7 this morning. It looks like the run of low numbers has ended. No idea why, except that I woke up in the night feeling that I was having a hypo. I ignored it because I knew my liver would correct it - which it definitely has.

Another really busy day ahead. Much too busy actually - it will be lovely to slow down a little over the Christmas vacation.
 
Good morning everyone from another preciously quiet start here in the dark and dangerous north.
The wonder wheel of courgetti spaghetti based carbonara came in at 4.8 this am.

Got a good nights sleep. Must have been the exertion of all that supervising of the decorations. All up and running now apart from strings of battery powered LED lights. Mrs Miggins is looking after the young daughter of one of our nieces this morning and then lunching with two of her aunts. I may attempt to sort out the dining room while she is out and unable to offer ‘suggestions’. I’m using the space as an art room at present but that will change when the youngest son arrives on 20th with his family.

Blue trees today, are they Spruce? Hope that everyone has a better day today than they did yesterday. Must make some koffy.

Good morning all. Thank you for sharing your creative talents @gennepher and @dunelm. The low numbers will return @Krystyna23040 - form is temporary but class is permanent. Swipey is a truculent pup. Today it piped up with I have been telling you since August this risible Elsie infatuation is a waste of your time, just give up son. Pah, I said. I've read Jason, I'm good to go. Yesterday I shared a 58 oz porterhouse steak with my son for his birthday meal. To be honest, my usual mackerel salad is more satiating, tastes better and I feel happier it is healthy. The salmon salad is in a much higher league. As steak goes that was a very high end example though, so no blame attached to butcher or chef. Return to my - what to call it, it isn't home but I live there just now? - today.
