What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

01.01.2022
8.50am FBG 6.4
@dunelm hope your sister is one of the 90%
@gennepher cute rabbit.
@RFSMarch welcome back.
@ianpspurs wishing a swift and complete recovery to all your son's family.
And finally happy New year to everyone.

Hi @Granny_grump_ - I did not read it as curt. Tricky this way of trying to control blood sugars. It’s like playing pin the tail on the donkey when the donkey is not in the same room and you don’t even have the tail to pin. All the best with your venturing out.

Sad to read this.Best wishes to sister and brother in law.

Good to see you back and moving along @RFSMarch, happy new year to you.

Good morning everyone and a Happy New Year from a bright new morning in an optimistic new day in the dark and dangerous north
Funny old day yesterday, lunch out with daughter and family and had a wail of a time listening to the girl in the bubble who, at the age of two, is the go to guru of everything even though she waxes lyrical in a language of her own invention. Phone calls to a couple of friends and a video chat with my mother who now needs to have her second hip replacement. Hope we can get over to see her sometime this year.

Year of the Tiger begins in February so here is an early one. Have a wonderful day if you can and all the very best for 2022. Best get the koffy on.

HAPPY NEW YEAR to You all.

A 7.5 FBG 9am after a good nights sleep, was gratefully accepted.

1st full week home
Leg still tender, unable to bear weight
Sure a lot of that is psychological.

Broken shoulder still presenting worst of pain, though probably only because stabby stabby, gets your attention better then throb throb, ad infinitum, until pain meds kick in..ZZzzz.

And the now non modelling arm, resplendent with pink tattoo of Nile Delta, isn't missing out on its chance to audition for the Royal Philharmonic Ouch Orchestra.

Abley assisted by the gloriously gruesome, coat hook through thumb, it's got as good a chance as any of going through to the final round

So apart from all that, and the suffocating boredom as week 4 , bed bound dwindles into week 5 , alls good..

Enjoy the day
However You can

The attached is both very funny and disturbingly possible given where "we the people" have gotten ourselves. There is one small sentence with the naughty F word so I didn't post the link and have warned y'all here. It is in today's Guardian online - no paywall.

Our youngest son, his wife and two young children have all tested positive for C. We carried out a mercy mission to deliver nappies, calpol, ice lollies for granddaughter, box of beer for dad. We will probably see off the turkey today. I have

Best wishes it's all mild, and passes quickly @ianpspurs .

Good to see your infamous sense of humour has remained intact. Also reading beyond the lines a real "attitude of gratitude" Top, top bloke. Happy New Year which despite everything you and the incomparable Lauren will undoubtedly achieve because that is just how you roll. Thanks for the good wishes for our son and family. Last update was that all was good. Not quite 5 month old normal without any meds.

As youngest nephew quipped, when I posted pic of leg.

" Pity about the choice of socks..lol."

" I agree

But good news is I'm still buying PAIRS "

rather passed over his head.

Grateful for small mercies, as are we all, I suspect

Then that sounds like excellent news.

Long may it continue.

Happy New Year to one and all for a better 2022!!!!
My BG this morning was 8.3mmol
Buffet nibbles and finger food + mini cheesecake + glass Gallo Zinfandel wine + 2 cups decaffeinate coffee
That’s last year done here’s to 2022 and a healthier me.
Hope everyone with family health concerns a better outcome and a better year ahead.

Good mercy mission with those essentials - paint their door with a Red Cross but only in water soluble paint. Hope they have it mild.

Ouch and ooch and terrible socks but nice to know that you can wear both at the same time. All the best and hope that you are up and about in quick time.

Good happy New Year’s Day Morening ladies and gentlemen, well done on posting again @RFSMarch hope things continue in a positive way. Nice leg @jjraak here’s to a slow and steady recovery.
A 6.7 on that meter.
Lots of covid about, it seems almost impossible to duck this variant. Let’s hope.
I hope all those infected and with family infected have a swift recovery.
Not a good start to 2022, but let’s hope things improve for all.

Looks as though the weak are being thrown to Lions just the same as the strong.
We are fortunate if we have some protection, but once one in ten get it, its difficult for it not to spread.
Hope you keep well Alf.

Just got back to Dereham from a.lovely walk in Sheringham Park when sister rang. Ben has just died. The hospital had said early this morning that an x-ray had shown that food from a feeding tube had gone into his lungs and that they hadn't realised that the catheter was blocked which had damaged his kidneys. They couldn't save him. It is so sad.

Very sorry to hear that Krystyna, that is shear incompetence, It gives some idea of standards during the pandemic.
Poor guy he didnt stand a cat in hades chance, both problems could lead to loss of life.

@lindisfel you are absolutely right. Because we were so shocked this didn't sink in at first. He died of aspirational pneumonia according to the hospital. So they actually killed him with their negligence and incompetance.
