Hi @Granny_grump_ - I did not read it as curt. Tricky this way of trying to control blood sugars. It’s like playing pin the tail on the donkey when the donkey is not in the same room and you don’t even have the tail to pin. All the best with your venturing out.Sorry dunhelm I am still getting used to the site finding my way around again, the answer I gave can appear a little curt it’s not intentional. From May-this year it’s gone from bad to worse with carbs I limit potatoes to one potato cut in half usually roasted boiled or chipped, my problem has been eating things I shouldn’t (comfort eating due to angziety) it usually takes me two weeks of complete cutting out of diet all sweet things before I can control my diet better I will do better after today. We are having a buffet this evening so I don’t expect a difference but NEW YEARS DAY ONWARDS will be my turning point.Thank you for advice I will follow it to get back in control hopefully it will help me with weight loss too.King Regards Kathleen
Sad to read this.Best wishes to sister and brother in law.Just had some really bad news. Brother in Law has taken a sudden turn for the worse. He is back on oxygen and the doctors have said they will not resuscitate if he stops breathing. Sister is now allowed to visit and will meet the consultant this afternoon.
Happy New year to you also @gennepher - fabulous New Years art.
Good to see you back and moving along @RFSMarch, happy new year to you.Happy New Year! Been a while, I know.
As some of you know the fallout in 2021 was financially and mentally challenging. the route to recovery on both fronts is underway but it is gonna take a while.
Still at the BBC as a freelancer and have been fortunate enough to pick up shifts and have started another tennis content writing gig.
Have taken on two lodgers and late mum’s bungalow has new tenants but still isn’t up to full strength rent because of various repairs but slowly I am beginning to repay “me” the money I invested in the business.
I lost all motivation for my own sports site last year and gradually am getting that back.
More importantly, have distanced myself from a couple of people who could never reciprocate the time I gave them in their hours of need.
I had friends help me financially and I still struggle with the shame of having found myself in that position…
Hopefully new sensor going in on Monday so will see how the sugars are looking.
Looking forward to being part of the group again
Our youngest son, his wife and two young children have all tested positive for C. We carried out a mercy mission to deliver nappies, calpol, ice lollies for granddaughter, box of beer for dad. We will probably see off the turkey today. I have
Good to see your infamous sense of humour has remained intact. Also reading beyond the lines a real "attitude of gratitude" Top, top bloke. Happy New Year which despite everything you and the incomparable Lauren will undoubtedly achieve because that is just how you roll. Thanks for the good wishes for our son and family. Last update was that all was good. Not quite 5 month old normal without any meds.HAPPY NEW YEAR to You all.
A 7.5 FBG 9am after a good nights sleep, was gratefully accepted.
1st full week home
Leg still tender, unable to bear weight
Sure a lot of that is psychological.
Broken shoulder still presenting worst of pain, though probably only because stabby stabby, gets your attention better then throb throb, ad infinitum, until pain meds kick in..ZZzzz.
And the now non modelling arm, resplendent with pink tattoo of Nile Delta, isn't missing out on its chance to audition for the Royal Philharmonic Ouch Orchestra.
Able assisted by the gloriously gruesome, coat hook through thumb, it's got as good a chance as any of going through to the final round
So apart from all that, and the suffocating boredom as week 4 , bed bound dwindles into week 5 , alls good..
Enjoy the day
However You can

Good mercy mission with those essentials - paint their door with a Red Cross but only in water soluble paint. Hope they have it mild.Happy New Year one and all. I'm not sure JKP appreciated the fireworks which were let off hereabouts since she finds sleep very difficult these days due to back and hip pain. I was good to go by 5.00 am, saw to the dogs, took her some tea and left her to sleep. We were tucked up in bed by 10.20 nothing stronger than Assam all day. However you chose to mark the end of 2021 I hope it worked as planned and you kept yourself and everyone else safe. Good news about your BIL @Krystyna23040 your sister must have been uplifted. Enjoy Sheringham Park and the less watery conditions. Our youngest son, his wife and two young children have all tested positive for C. We carried out a mercy mission to deliver nappies, calpol, ice lollies for granddaughter, box of beer for dad. We will probably see off the turkey today. I have thoroughly enjoyed the cold, low fat, high protein meat far more than the hot, often just snacking on some. No "pressure" of how to turn a well loved beautiful symphony of a meal into something Elsie compliant that isn’t jarringly discordant on the palate. I know not my fbg - the Swipey sleeps tonight - and for a while since I have a couple of important checks on this decaying body in which my brain is trapped. Deep and meaningful lyrics attached @gennepher
Ouch and ooch and terrible socks but nice to know that you can wear both at the same time. All the best and hope that you are up and about in quick time.View attachment 52675 As youngest nephew quipped, when I posted pic of leg.
" Pity about the choice of socks..lol."
" I agree
But good news is I'm still buying PAIRS "
rather passed over his head.
Grateful for small mercies, as are we all, I suspect
Very sorry to hear that Krystyna, that is shear incompetence, It gives some idea of standards during the pandemic.Just got back to Dereham from a.lovely walk in Sheringham Park when sister rang. Ben has just died. The hospital had said early this morning that an x-ray had shown that food from a feeding tube had gone into his lungs and that they hadn't realised that the catheter was blocked which had damaged his kidneys. They couldn't save him. It is so sad.
@lindisfel you are absolutely right. Because we were so shocked this didn't sink in at first. He died of aspirational pneumonia according to the hospital. So they actually killed him with their negligence and incompetance.Very sorry to hear that Krystyna, that is shear incompetence, It gives some idea of standards during the pandemic.
Poor guy he didnt stand a cat in hades chance, both problems could lead to loss of life.
