What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

When MrSlim had broken ribs doc advised paracetamol and ibuprofen taken separately i think 3 hours apart, so that one of them was always effective.
A very useful idea @SlimLizzy
Packets purchased, will test out soon

And hugs for food drama

I don't like fish, so always make a point if asked

Seen a few go the "oh anything would be fine " route,
Then moan bitterly when it clearly isn't

Well....if you can't find a culprit for the rise

I'd suggest, it's just the body rebelling ..for now.

It's 'job' does include preserving us from ourselves

Possibly in this instance, it's assumed a 'MOTHER' role and decided what's best, regardless of your food intake ?

Hope it settles back down asap

On the food scales

Early after DX I bought some .
Nice ones, has ability to deduct weight of bowl (yeah, correct food scales virgin, here )

Absolutely AMAZED at what actual portions look like

The portion size for cereal. ?

Let's just say it's just under the variety packs we give children.
A tiny covering at bottom of bowl

My bowl used to full to the brim at breakfast time

That size only, and have been starving after finishing.

Personal weight I got down to 13st.
Target weight..11st

I looked, forgive me, like I was getting ready for my taxi trip to Disneyland Paris

Friends even asked the missus how ill I was (big C )

Looking back at pics, I can see why
Suffice to say I put back a little weight, felt & looked better.

Of course, since accident, I now need to lose a few pounds,

Oohh, the Ying & Yang of life's endless battle of the bulge

Weight goals/control all very personal. For me the point is what is functional? At 73-74 kgs I'm on the cusp of too light but with no team sport ever again and no heavy work (spine transplants not an option yet) that's all I ever need to carry. At 75 kgs I look fine, maybe still a little light, to the casual observer but I really don't need that weight. In terms of the clunky BMI <21.7 looks thin but I'm totally relaxed there. 22.5 is top end functionality imho and 23 (75-6 kgs) seems just excessive but not obvious to the eye. I'll never need the implied power or food intake again. However, what a healthy weight for me would be is a real known unknown - healthy for what? How many/much carbs, weight or method of managing The D is always highly individual and, imho, subject to continual evaluation/revision. When the facts change,I change my mind. Ideally we all live and learn - at least on this thread.

I’m giving the really low carb a try not for pure vanity reasons I have had Osteoarthritis since I was in my 20s in my spine and knees now off for X-rays next week to verify this, the weight loss will help my joints. But I am allergic to lots of things and pain relief medication is just one of them I’ve ended up in AE with a full anaphylactic shock after having XRay medium dye injected in to my body. I’m one of those rare people that the hospital was aware this could happen but in 20 years of using it it had never happened. Upto me!!!!! They now have stopped using this XRay medium dye I was told in XRay last time I went has myself and family members have to make sure it’s not used on any close family members so you are constantly reminding XRay of this problem so they can check first. Years ago I was in and out of allergy clinic even the best one in our area but they can’t find what starts it off from X-ray medium dye to foods to medication I have to play detective to find out what causes these very unpleasant problems. And all this has only happened from my late 50s early 60s allergic asthma, all year round allergic rhinitis you name it I’m a walking time bomb, but can’t live in a bubble so I just get on with it there’s nothing else I can do. K Some Mother Eh!!!

I am often shocked at how the carbs add up over the day - even when eating low carb. The other thing I do is weigh everything because I have never been able to judge the weight of my food just by looking at it. Of course I don't take my scales with me when I eat out but I have been tempted to.

We are different in our responses to things chemical @jjraak
It's your eyes...
Popeye is there on the signature, but his face or eyes etc are in every pic (unless I have said so because I was in a rush that morning).
So, you can get cross-eyed now trying to find Popeye!

Thanks @ianpspurs
If you can see them, then there are rockets!

Hope your wheelies behave...
Art bit - Great line of trees @dunelm

Miserable weather. here...everything getting soaked...

Such an easy way of making blackbird soup - must be very low carb. Lovely colours in this kaleidoscope. Interesting how the tree branches give the impression of little tree people - Popeye looks baffled.
Thanks @dunelm
Must be nil carbs...

@Krystyna23040
I have been more than surprised at what 20 gms looks like but I had been reducing my carbs and taking more vegetables over last couple months, I’ve lost over 1and half stone but past weeks it’s just been 1 pound no more so I just need to give it a nudge. But recently my BG has been rising and I couldn’t understand why so after lunch I phoned our local chemist to check my medication and asked him if any of my medication could raise BG levels, and was surprised on hearing my Frusemide can raise BG and it does coincide with my raised BG levels.
I make a note of my BG before and after food with notes on what I’ve eaten so I can look at what raises BG and end of January is when my morning BG went from 5s and 6 s to in the 7 s and that is when I was put on Frusemide has my feet and ankles kept swelling, no explanation has to why from doctors, and I’m still on them today.
So will be interesting to see what this very low carbs will do, our chemist says I’m doing ok has my BG levels are not over the top at all and to carry on doing what I’m doing, but I like my BG in the 5s and 6s in a morning especially when I know I’m not eating bread potatoes etc.
It’s about BG levels weight loss for my joints and feeling better in myself so I will carry on with very low carbs and thank you for taking the time to inform me on how you handle your BG. K

Top sleuthing and hope you achieve what your efforts deserve.

@Granny_grump_ Good that you have found the reason for your higher blood sugars. Hopefully the very low carb will help..

Fbg 6.6

Still not adapted to the clock change this year. It has never been this bad in previous years. Why is it affecting me so much this year?

I was out yesterday, so never saw who ate at gennepher's cat diner first thing. All wet food was gone. The dry cat biscuits nearly all gone. But when I got back, the blackbirds were eating the cat biscuits, and Biscuit (ginger) came to polish off the rest of the dry biscuits. So I closed up the cat diner for the night.

Not opened it up yet. Will do when I have posted this.

Creative kaleidoscope in Laboscope, Procreate for Popeye, and Snapseed for name and frame.

Dropped below freezing last night. Electric blanket night!

Time for a cuppa and a nap...

Lovely colour contrast and those flowing blues. My brain is making little masks round the circumference.
