What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

A break from the internet is a good thing from time to time @alf_Josiah
Good luck in whatever it is you have to do.
Take care x

Ah, so you worked in catering?

Hello everyone from what is a dry, bright but three layers, for me anyhow, start to the day here. I hope the weather stays dry here, in London and everywhere crowds gather. Hugs, thoughts and prayers for those who have already found the mourning a source of difficult memories or will unexpectedly find today emotionally painful. @Annb hug for the troubles overnight and by extension all those who ever have similar issues. Thanks must be given that we live in a society and times which can see a peaceful transfer of two high profile national positions without threats of or actual violence. Whatever your thoughts on this process and what it reveals about this country, good and bad, that is the most comforting thing for me.

Good morning everyone, a mixture of a sad day and also the prospect of new beginnings if that is your bag. My employer for 30 years will be put to rest today. A pal of mine has been doing rotations at the catafalque in his Yeoman Warder uniform and will be on duty all today so no bank holiday for him. Do ATM’s also go on holiday with the banks? We lit the wood burner last night - first time since it was installed in the spring. Marvelous, and the addition of a little fan sat on the top worked a treat.
Art bit, adding a bit of detail, not sure yet if this will be a night scene or a day scene. Have a pleasant a day as you can. I feel the need for another koffy.

fbg 6.8

Bucketing it down here.
A 4inch deep paddling pool outside my bedroom and back door.
I had to put the cat food down on the back room floor, but Jade pulled it out of the dishes and dragged it outside, so a clear up job needed now.

Midnight has started something new, he's done this before, but this is the best video clips to make a video from...Midnight scares the Fox

So, creative is stills from that video...

Just got half drowned paddling through through the ankle deep water trying to collect the sd cards from the trail cameras. I repositioned one very low, so I am excited to see if any good footage.

I shall simply say have your best day you can today, and take as many cuppas as you need.

Take care x

Wood burner sounds comforting this cold weather @dunelm
A sad day...
Great detail of the window....

@dunelm and @gennepher thanks for sharing your creatives and art work. @gennepher hug for the wet weather and @dunelm enjoy the warmth of the wood burner. I miss having one but I'm not sure if they are on the naughty or nice list this week. @alf_Josiah you will be missed even though you have totally misunderstood the media's performance in carrying out to the letter what the real powers/elite in the land/deep state demanded. What else did you expect since this has been visible from space for decades?

I had a 3 in the early hours also which has left me with a headache this morning and feeling a bit (a lot) under the weather. My liver over corrected and I was in the 6s by 6am. Interestingly my resting heart rate was elevated overnight.

Do you get headachy after readings in the 3s?

A hug for the low & 'off' feeling

A little right field I fear but perhaps worthy of a mention

(Nom nom love it 9th July 2019)

A post on here (other thread ) made mention of marmite (hate)
But it reminded me I have a jar of Bovril..so checked out ingredients, etc .all good I'd say,

Now usually I'd say Bovril was a drink & marmite a spread., However reviews on the bovril site enthuse about it on toast, etc.
So while reading reviews at Tesco's website, I switched over to the marmite reviews to see if anyone made a drink from it

And I noticed someone mentioned it relieved their migraines...mmmh

Which tied in with another posted headache issue.

A cure, who knows, but worthy of a mention, perhaps .

A hug for the allergy and a winner cup for ur BG .

I get headachy when I've been in bed for more than 3 hours, but it goes away when I get upright. I usually start to feel odd around the 3 mark - sweating, shaking etc. Sometimes I'm in the 2's before I feel anything. Just as well I have a Libre.

Afternoon all.

A pleasurable day yesterday....chilled, relaxed & in best spirits for a long time.

Had a pizza in the fridge ...
So we had that

Naughty..deffo
Nice ..mmhh ok
The result ...a hefty 8.7 this am.
Ho hum.

Took a gentle cycle ride to the local shops, throngs of people everywhere, more like a football or carnival crowd .

Not far from the cortege route ,
So popped down to see what I can see .

Missed the hearse, but hadn't intended to see it, so not too disappointed.

Warm enough here for t-shirt and a hoodie, maybe.

Tomorrow we move forward again, & get back to finding out how horrible this winters going to be for far too many of us.

Hope ya all have a good day .

Hi Dunelm,
The trouble with wood burners is all the work they make but there is not much to equal their all round heat.
We still have 850 LTRs of 28sec kerosene in our tank so I shouldn't need much till Xmas.
The last load was a pound a LTR!
If there is load shedding I shall have to put my diesel alternator (6kva) into use.
I also have large calor gas bottle and burner rings to heat water and cook.
We don't need to heat upstairs as we can live downstairs.
I feel horrified how many kids and old people will not eat or heat there homes properly. One can always help the local food bank that does a lot of good work in this new Society when the plutocrats are not capped on bonus.

Having difficulties with this new format because I keep getting redirected to the beginning a decade ago!

Hi @lindisfel .

Good to hear earlier you are now recovering from hip & now have some independence now you're back driving..great news .

At the risk of offending if you already know, ...but you can mark WATCH thread at top of page

And as for clicking on, i suffered from going back to thread at start once forum changed.

It doesn't happen now, as I hit menu top right, then click on my alerts...which gives a longish sidebar list of posts I follow, showing recent replies or likes etc from such posts.

I click on anyone that is from this thread and back track or move forward from there .

I'm lucky most days it is the latest page in thread.

If I'm looking for other posts outside this thread, I check out new posts in the sidebar.

This thread itself, doesn't appear under new posts as I understand it .

So don't be surprised if you don't find it out there.

An amatuer pic to show what I mean.
(Nb..trouble describing such, IS the variety of mediums used to access forum..my screenshot is from an android phone, web access, dark theme..

each combination of variation all seems to operate slightly differently, sadly ..iPhone, tablet, pc, web v app, theme..)

A= Alerts.
M=Menus.
N = New posts

I hope being with you today is of help to your sister who I imagine will be impacted by the event. Hugs, thoughts and prayers for her and you.
Yes, you are right that it was a help to my sister. She mentioned her husband several times during the funeral. We watched until the Queen's coffin reached Windsor and then walked her back home.
