4.8 this morning. Archie is 16 today and I am pleased to report that his tummy upset is over and he is feeling almost back to normal - or at least Normal for Archie. I won't add any further details as it is breakfast time.
 
Good morning everyone from an overcast, blustery and very definitely autumnal start to Tuesday here. @dunelm thank you for the latest artwork and that wonderful photograph. Enjoy your time with TGIB and I hope the review tomorrow is useful for you. @SlimLizzy at least being pinned down by that kitten enables you to concentrate on learning French. Every cloud etc. @jjraak I hope the NHS encounter is useful and helps you to continue on the recent upward arc of recovery. Should the day present challenges, mundane chores, amazing new opportunities or a mixture of all - stir up Sunday isn't until Nov 20 in UK apparently - how we deal with them is a constant IMHO. Deal honestly, thoughtfully and with love for yourself and others. For many on here others extends to all God's creatures but some in particular so happy 16th birthday Archie.
 
Good morning to you all. My fbs this morning was 14.8 at 7.40am. Covid now gone but both still struggling with its after effects. Please be extra vigilant and avoid this new variant. It is not nice! Best wishes.

Midnight (cat) has now started sleeping in a comfy chair, I have prepared for him in the kitchen. Midnight always slept on the swing before, day and night.

I am glad Midnight comes indoors now the colder nights are drawing in. But this means that Jade has lost her constant friend of the night.

Jade is a stray cat who I have fed for a long time, but I cannot get near her yet. Sometimes she sleeps under the tarpaulin covering stuff at the back of the swing. Which is why in these trail cam videos, she often emerges from under the swing...

Poor Jade losing her companion cum protector but well done Midnight for having done the job and now finding a cosy home. Thanks for both the slightly sad video and the creative which has hints of future, happier possibilities. Enjoy many a cuppa you deserve them. I forgot to mention earlier that today is the Feast Day of St Francis of Assisi patron Saint of animals and Ecology. Very on point I feel.

6.5 this morning at 5.30. I guess that counts as FBG. Unfortunately, that bad old Dawn Phenomenon kicks in. It rose to 12.8. Then I did have breakfast and full doses of basal and bolus to deal with it, but BG is currently 15.9. If it doesn't drop soon, I'll have to take some more insulin to try to make it drop.
 
Hug for the difficulty in managing T1. Also @dogslife hug for the slow recovery from COVID.
 
Those video scenes of Jade looking throughout the night looking for Midnight tugged at my heartstrings a bit.

So, I have been thinking...an idea...

Might take a few days.


Midnight has a routine at the moment. Sleeps the night in the kitchen, but goes out just before dawn breaks, because he can watch me in my bed from the swing. The first thing I see when I open my eyes is his eyes boring into mine...
Then after his breakfast, he retires to my couch in the front room for the morning...exactly my spot. But he goes out in the back garden for the afternoon, and I get my warm cosy afternoon spot, and so this goes on.

Like you say, I am glad he has found a cosy home @ianpspurs

Good advice, that I fear many will ignore.

Quite a few people we know have it, and some quite poorly with it ....deffo not a mild version doing the rounds.

Oh @Annb what a nuisance after such a great start.

I know very little of type 2 WITH insulin.
But I do know type 2's usually make too much.

Now it's not impossible to see that for those not on insulin, those waves of incoming & outgoing tides of insulin are possibly like a see-saw.

For non insulin types it's the difficulty of balancing bottled waters on either bend of see-saw to maintain equilibrium...difficult but do-able

However, for those taking insulin, it's the added difficulty of matching the rising or receding tides of your own bodies insulin responses & then rolling a dice as a best guess what injected insulin is needed, & hoping it has the correct effect.

Not to say it's not more scientific or that anyone should stop or modify beyond what's recommended....deffo not saying that .

But just to gently point out, it is harder.
And comparing yours & mine for instance would be pointless for both of us.

While I'm sliding litres bottles of drink to balance MY See-saw,
Those who are using insulin are more likely putting on & taking off building site bags of sand & cement to balance theirs.

Sure those on here who used or do use insulin can correct me ?

I mean to say, don't be disheartened if it doesn't match others experiences.

We are all different, it's your trends that matter, and I think even given today's, your trend seems to be improving over all.

So a win from me, as well as a hug, for what look like the best fbg you've posted in a while ...

September was wetter than usual in Cumbria and October has started well. Today it started early this am and it's still raining at 1530 and likely to rain all night.

Sad to hear Drax is turning primal rain forest in British Columbia into wood pellets and if it still used coal it would be burning less that would affect climate change and we are subsidizing it's Green credentials?

Also very sad King Charles stopped from going to climate talks in Egypt next month.
