Thank you@Annb for your response to my post. I'm sorry that you are experiencing high blood sugar levels but I have to admit it is somehow reassuring to hear from someone who shares a similar experience. I have just tested 2 hours after eating a low carb meal followed by my increased medication of 2x Gliclizide+ 2 metformin and it was 17.3. My levels have been higher than they should be for some time and can't understand why. Best wishes.I have found that every time my BG goes very high (above 16) I start to feel as though a hypo is on its way and, of course, when I test I realise it is high not low. With the very high levels of the last few days (topped out at 21.9), I have been feeling that often. For me, it's a bit easier to deal with because I am on insulin so I just take a dose (pretty large) to bring it down. As far as I am aware, there is no food that will help in my situation. I've had a reasonable amount of fatty foods the last few days but these are the days when my BG has been exceptionably high. Not necessarily food related, of course.
I'm pretty sure that my very high levels recently are due to having a cold. Being under the weather in some way usually does adversely affect my BG levels. Any ill-health can do that, and it seems that Covid has been pretty bad for that. So it might not be food at all.Thank you@Annb for your response to my post. I am sure you are right. My levels have been even higher than usual during Covid 4 weeks ago and the after effects since. My HbA1c later this month is going to be interesting!I'm pretty sure that my very high levels recently are due to having a cold. Update: 2 hours after my low carb meal and my medication---17.3Thank you@ianpspurs. I always enjoy salmon. I haven't tested since my meal but have just taken my increased dose of diabetes medication as well as both doses of pain medication. I may test again in 2 hours to see if they've made a difference.
Beautiful kaleidoscopeFbg 6.6
Jade (stray cat) appears to live under the back of the swing at night. There is tarpaulin covering stuff, and it is safe, and a good defence spot, from the inquisitive foxes and badgers. She will startle the fox if he goes under the swing. I thought she might sleep on the swing now Midnight sleeps indoors most of the night now, but Jade likes her vantage point under the swing.
She had just seen the friendly fox off, when she came out here...
Kaleidoscope for today...it is sunny outside with fluffy white clouds in a blue sky...
I have a large black cat asleep on my legs, the weight of a large sack of potatoes...
Oh dear, no immediate cuppa nor breakfast for me...
I'd better look through the nighttime SD cards then...

What @gennepher said and I hope that that works quickly for youGood afternoon everyone. Just a quick request for advice please. I've just experienced a few feelings as though I was about to have a hypo. ( Fuzzy head, wobbly and very thirsty etc) so tested blood and was 21.1. Any ideas how to reduce my sugar levels quickly apart from drinking lots of water please? Many thanks. I am due to take my usual dose of 2x Gliclizide and 2x metformin after my evening meal. (Sorry if this is the wrong area for this but friends on here know my history).
Take care @dunelmGood morning everyone from week two of the back pain course. Nightmare yesterday - Pilates taster session in the morning by the descendant of a medieval torturer (a whole hour!) and pool exercises in the afternoon (45 minutes) - mercy, mercy! Interesting session on sleep and using movement as a therapy to improve function.
Nothing for me today as I am attending a funeral. Art bit - more detail added. Have the best day that you can have. Time for some koffy.

That is an interesting description of pilates and sadly many of my class members would agree with you.Pilates taster session in the morning by the descendant of a medieval torturer
Fascinating video of those foxes. Do we have any fox behavioural experts here? Thank you for the creative I am now intrigued as to what the metallic object is. Have a great day.Fbg 6.6
Were the foxes fighting, or was it one fox showing dominance over the smaller fox?
It is a sunny day again...
Creative is a photo in TinyPlanets
Cuppa tea now...oh dear...I shouldn't have typed those words...a very large cat has just jumped on me...
But guess what? I had the foresight this morning to make a small flask of tea...just in case...

I took the attached to be metallic but I'm just odd.
Thank you @dunelm. My blood sugar was 17.3 two hours after eating a low carb evening meal followed by my increased dose of diabetes medication but was up to 20.9 his morning despite nothing to eat after last night' s meal. Just made an appointment for my HbAlc on 27th so should be interesting! Best wishes. What @gennepher said and I hope that that works quickly for you
