What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Immunotherapy went smoothly yesterday. Saturday is much less crowded and staff seem much more relaxed plus I can while away the time watching sport
Great news.

A win on many levels.

Best wishes you're on your own health care winning streak :).

Btw, Admiring the strength in the posts tone.

But I am aware, ( if only 2nd hand ) that no matter how strong we are, that space must be lonely at times, even for the toughest of us, despite being surrounded by people & love.

Sometimes when we need to talk , it's the hardest with those we love.

If ever the need arises, my PM's always open.
Pretty sure I won't be the only one.

Go well @ianpspurs

Morning all.

Fbg all 7.+ Last few days.
And not doing today I think.
Reason below

A decent weekend here.

Adopted nieces car not working, and she was taking Lauren to her bff for Sunday dinner

(I had declined )

So as I volunteered to drive them over, seemed churlish not to stay for dinner..

Dinner delicious, patently not LCHF but life is for living, so ate it happily, but will row back a little more this week and exercise is on the up, so hopefully damage is limited .

The food was the reason + the company for others.

For me, the reverse

I seem to have been enforcing a little social distancing non covid related, that's been noted by a few, hence the respectful 'no thank you ' to the original invite,

And I'm told it needs addressing at some point
(Sure some will rue the day, the old gregarious me, is back ;) )

So the forced run over took away any real choice.

Have to say, it went well.
A little uncomfortable, but I'm sure that will ease over time.

Starting to feel more confident corners are being turned, if a little slowly.

Onwards & upwards.

Have a great day everyone .
Tricky isn’t it, especially if you don’t notice it yourself. But now that you do, you can take charge . Slowly slowly wins the race and the reward is more joy and a plate full of deliciousness.

Morening all, another day of busy, busy and napping while unsupervised.

A 4.9 this morning on that meter of etc, etc.

Sorry must go now, stay safe all.
Just a hand and footnote the media are having a field day at the expense of the election winning party, they are truly evil. Yours disgusted of Tumbridge Wells.

Fbg 6.6

Jade (stray cat) appears to live under the back of the swing at night. There is tarpaulin covering stuff, and it is safe, and a good defence spot, from the inquisitive foxes and badgers. She will startle the fox if he goes under the swing. I thought she might sleep on the swing now Midnight sleeps indoors most of the night now, but Jade likes her vantage point under the swing.
She had just seen the friendly fox off, when she came out here...

Kaleidoscope for today...it is sunny outside with fluffy white clouds in a blue sky...

I have a large black cat asleep on my legs, the weight of a large sack of potatoes...

Oh dear, no immediate cuppa nor breakfast for me...
I'd better look through the nighttime SD cards then...

Good morning everyone on another early start here in the dark and dangerous north. Wood burner is still shoving out loads of heat although the little windmill on the top is slowing. Should last until mid morning. On Saturday it was still glowing mid afternoon. Glad that the immunotherapy went well @ianpspurs - missed that quite important bit. Tom Yum soup last night. No Galangal so used Ginger instead - best get some more of each. Week two of the back pain course begins today, what fun. Exercising in a swimming pool is harder than it looks.
Art bit - a bit more texture to the staircase of doom. Not achieving much at present but it’s coming along and it’s not a timed competition like Portrait or Landscape Artist Of The Year on Sky Art. Have a marvelous Monday if you can. I shall make koffy and then pack a bag.

It's a long way down in that art bit...
Have a good week at the course @dunelm

Good morning all from a mild but slightly gloomy skied Breckland. No fbg here since one job at a time seems a sound policy and Thursday's bloods had a glucose component which was ok I guess (4.2). @jjraak thanks for those kind, supportive words and the offer of a PM. If there is strength in that post it comes from the Holy Spirit and I would be wrong to claim it as mine. Claiming God's work as my own - Galatians 6:14 - won't end well. It never does. That doesn't mean I’m not honest enough to know I do that too much "through negligence, through weakness, through my own deliberate fault”. However truly sorry I am for that I know I'll backslide though. Humans being humans very much like a lost sheep. @dunelm thanks for the art which is developing wonderfully, slowly or not. I hope the course goes well this week. @Krystyna23040 glad you liked the music but sorry about the lack of sausage rolls. @Annb you are such a star for all that baking. A small single malt yesterday evening produced a good sleep score unless that was due to 11k steps and/or the more reliable 100+ active minutes MIL came to share Sunday lunch and enjoy a film for the first time in a month, thanks be to God. We are off back into Cambs today otherwise a very quiet day. Do enjoy your day everyone but COVID has very much not gone away and reports suggest this year's flu is very nasty.

Another looking into that with dizzying eyes.. :wideyed: :hilarious:

Such patience & eye.

Good luck at swim school.

Told resistance of the water is THE best rehab.

Got to be good, if they use it for thoroughbreds..

That post has been appearing and disappearing on this here chromebook as if it were Trusseonomics. Good on Jade for seeing off the fox and thanks for that kaleidoscope. Surely you don't mean Midnught weighs 1 CWT like the proper bags of spuds from the days of yore? Hopefully he has moved and cuppas are back on the menu.

Helen took the Duchess for a biopsy on her lower leg on Saturday. Then they went back south to Merseyside. Helen helped a lot over the week.
We have to wait now for result which they have promised to put through system within a fortnight.
Cloudy day here with strong winds. Road past cottage no go this week through work on old stone bridge down road. Mad drivers hit bridge and damage it every winter of late.

I have had others' posts disappearing on me...

Well Midnight weighs at least the 28lb bag of spuds 1/4 of a cwt.
He is too big and too heavy for me to lift him up. And so I am unable to attempt to weigh him @ianpspurs

Yes he moved when he sensed I needed the bathroom, but he has been my constant shadow all day. I have just got back into bed for warmth to have another cuppa...and my shadow jumped on me, kneaded his front paws on my belly, and is back asleep...this is the first time he has kneaded his paws on me, and in total bliss.

I think I will have a nap, now I have a thick real fur blanket over my lower half...

Good afternoon everyone. Just a quick request for advice please. I've just experienced a few feelings as though I was about to have a hypo. ( Fuzzy head, wobbly and very thirsty etc) so tested blood and was 21.1. Any ideas how to reduce my sugar levels quickly apart from drinking lots of water please? Many thanks. I am due to take my usual dose of 2x Gliclizide and 2x metformin after my evening meal. (Sorry if this is the wrong area for this but friends on here know my history). :)

Thanks@gennepher. I am having salmon for my evening meal with a small portion of above ground vegetables. I am drinking lots of water to try and reduce my symptoms. My HbA1c is due soon. I'm expecting it to be really high due to Covid and follow up symptoms. Maybe the doctor will suggest something as my increased dose of Gliclizide doesn't seem to be doing the trick. Thanks for responding so quickly. :)

I hope that works but salmon is always a great choice. Take care.

I have found that every time my BG goes very high (above 16) I start to feel as though a hypo is on its way and, of course, when I test I realise it is high not low. With the very high levels of the last few days (topped out at 21.9), I have been feeling that often. For me, it's a bit easier to deal with because I am on insulin so I just take a dose (pretty large) to bring it down. As far as I am aware, there is no food that will help in my situation. I've had a reasonable amount of fatty foods the last few days but these are the days when my BG has been exceptionably high. Not necessarily food related, of course.

Thank you@ianpspurs. I always enjoy salmon. I haven't tested since my meal but have just taken my increased dose of diabetes medication as well as both doses of pain medication. I may test again in 2 hours to see if they've made a difference.
