What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Most people think and say that rapeseed oil isn't an allergenic, and the same with avocado oil, both of which are appearing more and more in prepared foods. We have to be very careful of this because Neil reacts to both of them, and to sunflower and safflower although he is quite comfortable with olive oil. Just so that there are no mistakes made, I only keep olive oil and butter in the house. He can also take soya oil and, although it is difficult to find, he can get a margarine (soya spread) that he can eat but sourcing it is getting harder - most spreads contain other oils as well as the ones they are named for. The one that we could buy here, and which was perfect for him, stopped production because the sales were not sufficient to make it a viable product ("Pure" soya spread).

FBG today was 8.5. Currently 13.4.

Edit: just to mention - the coffee and fig cake looks pretty good - colour and texture. Will find out what it tastes like when my friend comes on Tuesday.

It is good that you have found what is causing your tummy problems. Such a shame that so many foods have rapeseed oil in them. Really puzzled as to why they added rapeseed oil to prawns. I have one of those magnifying glasses with a light. It is brilliant but I often forget to take it with me to the supermarket.

Lovely artwork. I love the autumn colours of the leaves.

Stunning painting. Hope the GP visit goes well.

I have absolutely no idea what that last sentence means.
Effectively means that computers, phones and any device with a processor becomes obsolete every 18 months to two years because something more awesome, powerful, shiny and bright is available. Jason Fung is venerated as a diabetes guru. Moore's law. Jason Fung

Thanks very much @Krystyna23040

I keep that magnifying glass in my bag at all times, but it is heavy....

Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen and all who had a cheeky India takeaway last night. Naughty, but life is for living.

Blood sugars this morning were 5.9 considering what I ate last night a good result.

Processed fats. A real problem for me, but what works and what doesn't is still work in progress for me, throw into the mix my medication and we are back to that simultaneously equation with multiple unknowns.
Whoops pressed enter before I had finished, now I’ve forgotten what words of wit and wisdom I was going to write, must be an age thing.
Stay safe all

Really good news about the knee X-ray.

I have days like that @RFSMarch .

How good are fish and chips!... But even years before i was pre, it took me a few days to get over fish and chips. Talking about the dogs, since i have become more stringent with my diet, i am watching theirs too, so 1 bit of cake each per week, but small pieces as opposed to a cake each every day. They are particularly keen on Fondant Fancies! Treats are now bits of cheese or salami.

At least they are now known unknowns. It is the unknown unknowns that are the issue even for the ITKs. which a few of you must be statistically. If you know what I mean guv'nor.

Ok, tla’s do my head in, as you well know, so what does ITKs mean, so I don’t know watt you mean gov’. Give me quantum sums any day over, spelling, grammer and the complexities of diabetes.

Now then Squire stop having a bubble/Turkish/giraffe etc. ITK is well known to mean In The Know. O.K with FLAS? TTFN.
