Morening fellow posters and painters and ladies and gentlemen and welcome to new posters to this off the beaten track and, that’s just another and to tweak those literary people who understand the complexity off the engrish language hehehe.

Blood sugars yesterday were 5.7 and this morning were 5.8 .

Sorry no time to digest 3 pages of posts and I have run out of time this morning and are now running late, whoops slipped another and in, perhaps me, me’s and myself should right ( @ianpspurs ) in tla’s .
Stay safe all hopefully I will have more time tomorrow the indoor rain cabinet is calling and also the keyboard, a bit of last minute cramming before todays lesson where F#min will under the spot light.

What will a high lipid count cause???
Any advice on how to reduce it???K

We don’t have a smart meter - I don’t think that they are that smart. I take readings from gas and electric meters and send them in at month end . My bills have not really gone up much. Sorry you are not getting shifts, hope that changes for you.
We don't have a smart meter either. The power company keeps offering one and I think, in the end, they will start charging more for power if you don't have one, but so far, we've resisted. There is no advantage to us in having one at present - we only have electricity anyway, so it's only one meter to read. And, since I cut down the use of electricity as far as I am will to go, and know what uses the power, it wouldn't save me anything. The thing is, I'm not keen on giving over control of anything to an outside organisation - and I'm hearing bad things this morning about power companies switching people over, via their smart meter, to "pay as you go", without even telling them beforehand. Too much control in an external organisation.

FBG 8.1, by the way. It was 5.9 last night at 10 pm, when I went to bed, 8.1 at about 1.30 am when I got up again and 8.1 still when I finally got up at 7.30 am.

Good morning from a currently dry, bright and mild but very "particular" sub-region of the Exotic East. We have a food delivery later so this must be a food Oasis. Champagne super nova was ok the rest was execrable. Paxlovid rebound is mostly an issue of ongoing rescheduling but thanks for the good wishes @jjraak @dunelm and anyone I have missed. @gennepher those episodes of the wildlife meets patiently and lovingly domesticated cat soap opera are heartwarming and beginning to draw one in - just a little. Thanks for the riot of autumnal colour. @dunelm the latest artwork is developing nicely - thanks. Hopefully Mrs Miggins has a sack barrow for the coal dash final. @RFSMarch it will be sad if your visit is fleeting but it was wonderful to hear from you. Good news on the golf club membership being part of the package. Oddly enough our smart meter developed memory loss for electricity over several months - despite JKP frequently contacting them. @lindisfel have a good shopping trip. Hugs to all over the stories of flexible friends investigating. Have the best day you can.

I often get higher figures after sleep, but they go down as the day. progresses. It would be interesting to see your figures before lunch and before dinner. Are you intermittent fasting?

@Stephen Bond definitely looks like mine is a case of DP. My before lunch and dinner bgls are usually in the 5-7 range. It’s the overnights i find difficult to keep in check.

I wasn’t intentionally fasting - but did skip dinner that night due to a large lunch.

So... I guess this is the new home of what we ate along with our test figures plus..... well more or less everything else!
Early mornin test 6.1... Higher than before bed.
Breakfast... Skipped it
Lunch .....skipped it
Dinner big blow out... glass of fizz, Chinese pork belly and crackling, stir fried broccoli stems. Affogato with an extra drop of Almond syrup and Kahlua. 2 small Liquors and a small scotch.
My Freestyle Libre 3 arrived today, so checking and comparing to the test strips. Exactly the same more or less give or take 0.2mmol. It is in mgdl, so I need to divide by 18 to get mmol.
Before dinner 4.3 then 2 hours after dinner and drinks 5.0...All in all i am pretty pleased with that. There was a bit of oyster sauce (which is sweet) in the broccoli stems. I also had ice cream and some sweet liquors, so pretty happy with that. It really is useful to see how the glucose is being processed with this realtime monitor.

Have you had a full lipid panel?
One needs to see figures.

EDITTED
Ok, had to re-edit once I read @ianpspurs post above.

Seems while posts had been removed, the reasoning had led to this

I know how nice it was to not only find some hope after DX, but to also find a niche I could call home.

I personally found the support of just being in a group that not only allows you to verbalise around a topic you all find interesting, but also allows expression of more then just the physical side of our condition, to be very therapeutic.

I did look in the what have I eaten today thread.
Useful but I came out of it

The last thing I needed if trying to stick to a diet of fewer meals was an entire thread showing me what I was missing .. :hilarious: :hilarious: :hilarious:

So not for me..:bag:

Good luck finding a place that fits your needs too.

This is my first log since getting the Libre 3 continuous Glucose monitor. I might do a proper review of this sensor later, but this post is about what i ate and the levels recorded. I hope this is of help, however I suspect each person processes sugar differently and different sugars react differently by person. But at least this gives an idea of what my body is doing in relation to these foods.

Last night before dinner Libre 3 was 4.8 mmol (88mg/dl no option for mmol so divide by 18!), blood test strip showed 4.6, so close enough i guess. Also libre 3 is testing in the arm and i take blood from my finger for the test strips, so that might make a difference.
This is where it gets interesting. ...We had friends over for a celebratory dinner so deviated a little from the path of no booze and no sugars.
After a 2 glasses of fizz, a few canapes of chilli beef, tomato and olive on a stick. Dinner was some Chinese crispy pork (no sugar),with some broccoli stems stir fried in soya, peanut oil and oyster sauce ( probably loads of sugar!). Desert was a Low Calorie biscuit with a few drops of almond syrup, some kaluha, a ball of ice cream with some coffee poured over. Checked the sensor ... Nothing much happened... thenn near the end of eating it lurched up to (98mg/dl) to 5.4 mmol, then dropped very quickly until i had a couple liqueurs and a scotch whereupon it jumped back up to 5.4mmol. By 2 hours after consuming anything it was back to 5.0 mmol... stayed that way rising slightly overnight.
Upon waking it went up sharply over the next hour to 5.7... Then by midday had dropped to 5.4 which is where it is now.
I skipped breakfast and lunch, and only had a few cups of tea, with a spot of milk.
I will update this post before dinner as that will show the morning and pre dinner levels. In summary.. The 2 glasses of fizz, oyster sauce, 2 liqueurs and th scotch did not have a dramatic effect. Overnight levels did not do much. Upon waking they shot up from the previous night, but not crazy. During the day, with only drinking tea, levels dropped after rising during mid morning.
I hope this is helpful...

Nope, I am staying here... That way i can give full explanations of what i have consumed and the levels that result. That needs a fair bit of type, and I suspect will generate questions which may be classed as off topic if they relate to figures.

Really, all purged just like that ?

Am I to assume the "what did you eat" thread is now closed.because it wasn't popular?..that's sad

I mean, there is a reason most of us posted in one thread and not another, after all we all have a similar condition yet few simply post in "5,6 fbg"

you all must have liked it at least ...I feel your pain.

I do hope this isn't a portent of streamlining of the forum and only selected threads remaining

It was so nice to not only find some hope after DX, but to also find a niche I could call home.

I think I'd post less if it's fewer threads.

I personally found the support of just being in a group that not only allows you to verbalise around a topic you all find interesting, but also allows expression of more then just the physical side of our condition, to be very therapeutic.

I suppose someone new will start a what did you eat thread.
( it was a thread I took part in early on.)

it was & is a major part of newbies learning curve ...'what CAN I eat ....aaghh "

Sure it helped many others too

Good luck.

Aha..I see @ianpspurs has replied just before me, excellent.
To be fair, the posts were not purged, they were moved, or at least i think that is what happened. Sadly i do not have time to spend ages working out a new site and all the different locations of things, so i just accepted that was what had happened.

I generally take a quick squint at "What's new", and then report daily test results and what i ate that caused those results.

Users who have years of experience and who post their daily consumption is extremely helpful to a Newbie like me, as it gives a good idea of what to eat and what not to. The first data of the morning I found helpful at first, but this goes all over the place everyday and can either go up or down. Hopefully with this new sensor, I should be able to see what foods cause it to go up or down overnight. By the way, the Libre 3 is not easy to look back over, but it is comfortable to wear. My fingers were getting too many holes in them:happy:.

I hope my somewhat more detailed posts will help other Newbies.

Thank you for the link .

A far better explanation on that of what's happened here.

And seems to have been addressed with the parallel thread.

For a short while I had wondered if the entire forum was being streamlined to as few threads as possible.

Seems not to be the case, thank goodness.

As a newbie, all info is helpful to me. I am on a kick to lose a lot of weight at the start of all this, so only eating 1 meal per day. Christmas will probably change that, as will the start of the ski season, so good to know what others get away with when not trying so hard to lose weight. Also there are some lovely people on that thread who are very generous with their time, help and advice.

Sorry @Stephen Bond

Ian's links meant I had to re-edit my post quite extensively.

Sure it may.
Just wonder if many newbies will find it or trawl through posts to look ?

I know I found it hard when starting to find relevant posts.

Might its own thread be of more use

Seems a lot of data to post if not used ?

Yes i guess a new thread might be more appropriate.. But then lots of people have to find that thread to make the move? Maybe better definitions and renaming of the threads.. Glucose readings and what you ate with short chat, and Daily Glucose readings. That said some posted very helpful recipes in the what you ate today thread and that was really useful.

A great point @lindisfel .

All the vagueness of 'its all ok'. Passed over by a receptionist sometimes, isn't the standard we are worthy of .

The figures represent so much of how well we are coping.
And also early warning too easy missed by those not Invested in US, as much as we are of potential drops or rises that can or should be addressed.

Agree.
Which while some fbg threads were clearly not for me...lol.
Does make sense

I just kinda feel sorry for Stephen.

A thread dedicated to what you ate , he finds he can't participate in.

I think his idea of better headings, is a good one though.

We were lucky the godfather of our thread saw a way and led us here

Everyone should have such a figure.
