What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Well they'll all be the right size for the time bandits theme..

And just like that.....everybody understood what... 'its all relative, init " means

We (shmbo & myself ) had an interesting discussion when I first got back to biking.

I'd stoopid, stupid, stupidly, offended her months (likely years ) earlier, when being aghast at the price of a bag

BAG: Receptacle into which one places items to carry home.

And finding out the true cost of one of hers....

Suffice to say shocked barely covered it.
The ongoing mentions, that, that might have purchased a small village in parts of the country, wasn't appreciated, it seems ....

Cue, stupid stupid me, excitedly mentioning a rare (for the bike series) touring rack AND matching top box & panniers I'd purchased.

It's rare (unusual fittings required) so clearly a tad more expensive then normal.

An exasperated roll of the eyes from Madame + a week or two of feigned hurt at how much I'd wasted on it, "while parts of the world couldn't feed themselves"

Taught me, "it's all relative, init "

And we both made a pact right there, to never, ever ask "HOW MUCH '

And they all lived happily ever after

Cracking black Friday deal, you got there @dunelm ....

Late today. I've been up and down for much of the night. Something I ate, I guess.

BG has varied during the night between 6.5 and 14.9. FBG is one of them - take your pick.

Em was here all day yesterday. Came in at 7.30, had a glass of milk and half a cup of tea and was asleep in the chair by 8 o'clock. She slept until 5.30 - non stop! That's not normal for a child who has had a full 9 hours sleep already. But she doesn't seem to be ill with it. The only thing she complains of is a sore eye, which she has had for quite a while. Gave her a tea bag to put on it and an eye patch, which absolutely delighted her - being a pirate is one of her ambitions in life.

Morning all.

A little better on the BG, coming down very dlowly.

Reduced meds, but accomodating a small bundle of pain, daily
(Nothing excruciating, but low level & easy-ish to ignore ) MIGHT be the ongoing culprit ?

So a magnificent BOND 007.0
which I'm happy with (for now)

Interesting journey across town the other day.

Not sure if I'll use, but wanted my own e-bike.
Bought one on eBay, good ptice considering I knew it needed a 'little' work.

Found a chap on the opposite side of London ( Stratford, ) lovely fella, who could do the work at a good cost effective price.

Journey over, late Thursday night.."miss the traffic" seemed such a sensible thing at the time

Marylebone rd (runs from A40 right into king's cross .
MAJOR thoroughfare ..closed.
(yep, shoulda looked closer at the traffic map )

Nose to tail traffic, side roads all blocked up , far too many camera to even think of taking any of the multiple 'NO RIGHT TURN" "NO LEFT TURN" "RESIDENTS ONLY" "OFFENDERS WILL BE SHOT ON SIGHT" Warning signs .

So a Google guessed 58 mins, passed into 45 mins doing 2 miles.

Cause ?
Not the Roadworks.
Work WAS actually ongoing at the time..I know, I was shocked too

But the kicker was, road closed, so only a right turn available east bound, 3 lanes of cars & juggernauts funnelled into one lane, squeezed down a side road, that led.. down, left , left to bring everybody BACK to the opposite side of the roadway, to join the traffic jammed, nose to tail heading west ....aagghhh.

Arrived late , late , late in the evening having gone out of my way through north London.

Busy few days, so only the briefest of rides to check it out.

Eager to put it through its paces, and hopefully recover my confidence, and who knows. Maybe, just maybe be back on the bikes at some point in time ...
< pray >

But much to consider before then.

Have good day all.

6,5...it's always the lowest, when it's multiple choice

Gave a funny for the pirate quip.

But that doesn't sound normal.
Hugs for the ongoing worry.

Hope a full recovery from whatever it is, is just around the corner.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all those who struggle to tie up their shoe laces, slip ons might be an answer.

A 5.9 this morning on the meter.
.
A few minor observations
@gennepher your paintings are reminding me of some of Turners work, nice use of colours.
@jjraak, thank you for confirming that the ladies in our lives remember every misdemeanour, imagined or other wise. Reality, best inhabit your own. Nice to read you are making steady slow progress, remember the mantra when stuck in traffic “ wish I’d stayed at home “.
Stay safe all.
Edit
Enjoy missing the beer festival and remember to peel those pork pies at the riotous assembly this afternoon @dunelm

Yes, far too many times, I've questioned how on earth elephants ever even got mentioned in the same breath.

When every man alive knows they're not even close to being the world's best never forgetting ANYTHING species....

When it comes to recalling "The FACTS". It's like Lauren had a stenographer taking notes the whole time ..eek

Morning everyone on the day before Stir up Sunday 2022 (UK) For those of a scientific bent - not bent scientists who have wreaked havoc throughout history - this may or may not interest you https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-63602501. @dunelm and @gennepher thank you for so kindly sharing you creative gifts with us. A riot of colour in yours Gennepher and the anticipation of how much the final crowning glory will delight the eye and imagination @dunelm. @Krystyna23040 congratulations to your diary keeper for the free lunchtime and enjoy the meal later. Will it be after the rugby? @Annb hug for yourself and Em but interesting tip with the tea bag. I almost gave a winner for the aspiration to be a pirate. Swashbuckle on CBeebies has been a favourite of all our grandchildren. Our youngest grandchild and his sister were here last evening for the first time in about a month. Fitbit stats this morning implied my vital signs were greatly pleased to see them. I'm really not liking the weather and not on board with being gaslighted into believing the zeitgeist is just how things must be. However, this and countless similar stories rather put things into perspective https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowb...d-28-following-pulmonary-fibrosis-battle.html Thoughts and prayers with his loved ones. There remains the knotty issue of fueling myself properly. Each morning I read that it is important to pray for those things which are requisite and necessary as well for the body as the soul. After almost 7.5 years of posting here, reading about and trying LC and Keto I'm still in the wilderness. I can't see those as a route to any promised land in which I would feel happy or thrive. Have yourselves a merry little Saturday especially those blessed to be sharing celebrations with their grandchildren.

My problem - one of them anyway - is forgetting. So many things have fallen off the other end of the conveyor belt I call a brain. I do remember bits and pieces, but not the full stories. While certain, unimportant, things are clearly etched on my memory (like the time, aged about 3 that I bumped into this tall, brown suited individual and apologised before realising that I'd bumped into a telegraph pole) but important things, like instructions with medicines etc, don't stay in place for more than 2 minutes.

Thank you for that lovely compliment @alf_Josiah

Thank you @ianpspurs for the lovely compliment.

This confirms what I found out the hard way, woodworking in the cold outside last winter and the winter before used up so much much energy that I suffered hypo’s on occasions and my hospital diabetic consultant agreed that adjustments needed to be made, factoring in cold temperatures.
The human body needs carbs, just how many is the question.

Very interesting Ian. Just as well I have lots of layers on while I keep my house cold.

Stunning colours - fiery water

Oh so true

That is so beautiful.
