What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Very distressing @gennepher .

I'd like to think it's just a t@ wt chancing his luck.

And he's been suitably earned by you.

But likely a lot easier, sat here to be so relaxed about it.

Hope you can begin to ease down from high alert status.
I hope I gave him more than a flea in his ear @jjraak
I will be on high alert for awhile yet.

There have been quite a few instances reported on the neighbourhood online site saying of callers with malicious intent. I do read them to know what the latest scams are. One appears to be one person, a man, with a parcel, the occupier answers the door to say they are not expecting a parcel. But then a group of (hidden) men push in etc etc

Which is why I am careful to know the timing of parcels and my special delivery before 1pm letters. I am expecting one of those today, so I am sitting by the front window.

Thank you.

No harm in a game being a reason for people to discuss and enjoy. Not that I would. But if it makes people happy - fair enough. I just feel it being imposed on me (football or some other sport) throughout the year as though it was the most important thing in the world. It really isn't while there is war, injustice, famine, danger to be faced.

Not a good situation at all and it’s OK to say if you don’t feel OK. Jeans thing can be easily sorted by putting the button on an elastic loop but as for the rest - well significant events on the calendar will amplify things. I have danced with the black dog for a long time and wear a black dog pin to remind myself that I am a work in progress. All the best.

Morning

A pleasing 6.2 this morning .

Overlooking McGarrett Plains, if not actually on it...so happy with that.

Designated Uber for Lauren & bff, as they go to get a non medical, medical procedure... for vanity reasons .
(Ladies might know of which I talk)

Then the ladies become ladies that do lunch, which is nice.

I will excuse myself, so they can chitter chatter without some non comprehending male raising his eyebrows (because I'm the only one able.. ) & rolling his eyes at the perceived importance of the snippets of gossip that draw gasps and "Oh no ..really "..

A day to myself then beckons, tinkering with the new (to me ) Ebike.

May have mentioned, but liking the new lease of life, cycling is now getting from me.

Anyway, got to put my chauffeurs cap back on, mechanic has informed me, ladies are being taken down from the ramps, buffed & polished, with new MOTS issued.

Hope I can spot which ones mine...

Good morning (just) everyone from a busy busy start here in the dark and dangerous north. I think that I have caught up but you never know when lists of potential chores are handed over with encouraging words in the form of spells. Still, after Mrs Miggins reported that the high power was no longer working on the cyclonic vacuum cleaner, I took out the filters and washed them - job done - pretty sure I had informed her about this before. Whatever happened to those nice big expensive vacuum cleaners that double up as paint sprayer, meat mincer and bread maker. Art bit - colours added so on with something else. Hope everyone has as good a day as they can. I must have another koffy before the noon gun.

Thanks for the ideas @alf_Josiah

I did that awhile ago. Positioned it outside in strategic place. It got stolen.
I cannot screw mine into something. It doesn’t have that facility. It just has a strap to fix it to a tree. And it also has to be at a height I can access the SD card.
I ordered another one, but that is coming today. This one will be indoors. Inside the kitchen window, by the door. But I do need to get it at the correct height, because it is a very confined approach at that point by the door and doorbell.

I think I will take one of the two wildlife ones and put that one pointing from the other kitchen window down the driveway. To cover all bases possible...

That was why I went out almost immediately after that scoundrel yesterday, to see whose bungalow he had come from if he was telling the truth. But everyone was out in their cars, or out at work. No one a good few bungalows either way or over the road either way was in.

He was a chancer...

Special hugs for you @SlimLizzy

Much too beautiful to be the lair of a spider monster. Especially with the moon overseeing everything. Or is that the man in the moon keeping watch?

A hug for your incident yesterday there are always chancers on the make but it can be a disturbing experience especially when he was so persistent. I get a few now and then "offering to do jobs " I always say that my husband does see to all that ( I've been divorced 17 years lol but it works .

Thanks @dunelm
I appreciate your ideas.
I forgot to check the front gates and walls for chalk marks. I knew to do that from where I lived in Liverpool before. Then there is the pavement as well to check. What I did notice was a pop drink left standing inside my neighbour’s wall. I thought that was unusual....
Will go out in a few minutes and check all that.
My security lights work and activate.
I never have a routine, learnt the hard way many years ago...
I was looking in the front garden and passages yesterday afternoon, and I was thinking of doing what you suggest to make it hard to gain access. I have a few ideas for that...some forgotten ideas from my garden in Liverpool...

Thank you very much for the lovely painting compliment

Absolutely amazing art bit @dunelm.
That is breathtaking...

Thanks.
My mind is ruminating on a possible reply @mojo37 but it won’t be a husband.......

7.3 this morning same as yesterday though the night before I had eaten a very greasy kebab with chips and that resulted in me having a very poor night's sleep . last night good sleep and low carb yesterday and still 7.3 ( shrug) . Numbers did improve this morning after breakfast and long walk down to 5.6 .

Thank you for sharing your art which has been transformed into something beyond words by the addition of colour. Hug for cleaning Mr Ds cyclone. Like Apple products I have set my face against anything of his. Did use my parents' one - chocolate fireguard springs to mind. Possibly heavily filtered through the prism of his enthusiasm for leave and alleged treatment of workers. Oddly enough, we have one of those multi-functional ones and a very nice man - who claims I used to teach him rugby - pops round to service it and the baby cordless cousin he flogged us. Baby one works way better than Mr D's pony gear. All IMHO

Hug for feeling imposed upon by sport. JKP would sympathise but she has a sport mad husband, two like minded sons and now some grandchildren. I take your point but most televised sport now is usually on subscription channels unlike strictly and those cooking programmes for which we are forced to pay a licence fee in which we are expected to show some interest. Heston B is ok but spare me from accidentally seeing Mary Berry and especially Paul Hollywood. He's a special case involving a flight to and from Cyprus.

Thanks Ian for the wishes and compliments.
I appreciate them.
Glad your day went well yesterday.

Ianp, spurs fan. It’s good that sport got people talking in such a stressful environment. The mindless twaddle spouted by the media is not appreciated by the average viewer in my bias opinion, a few sports fans I know of turn the sound off and watch the game on the idiot box listening to the radio commentary and one or two who are season ticket holders listen to the radio commentary while watching the game in the stadium.

Now your interpretation of Advent calendars, post away, it is the reader’s choice wether to pay attention, you know my feelings, but I will fight in your corner on this one. Post away, enjoy the rugby, I shall give it a big miss, yes I know what I am missing I used to play, rugby, not rugger. For background reading try looking for the “art of coarse rugby” I’m sure it was based on a couple of teams I played for.

Thanks Alf. I have read that tome and chuckled. Enjoy your day although I suspect that goes without saying. Here's a sample of the type of poem and art I intend to post: https://malcolmguite.wordpress.com/blog/

Yes Ian, I agree about some of those other programmes. If the Breakfast programme (the BBC early morning one) is nattering on about "Strictly" I turn it off with a shrug - it is a magazine programme, after all. Same if they go on about other TV competitions or programmes. Sport is, I'm sure on the dedicated channel and accessible for those who can afford it. Cooking, for the most part is on the Freeview Food Channel, but also on mainstream channels. When they appear anywhere else, I would normally turn them off. It's when they take up a major portion of the national news (and then are followed by the same or similar footage on the Scottish News that I get irritated). Quite a lot of sport has programmes dedicated to it on the mainstream channels - or so it seems to me. I'm no more keen on Ms Berry or Mr Hollywood than you are but they are easier to dodge. I wouldn't want to spoil anyone's enjpoyment, but I do think it is a bit much.
