What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

This is looking a very substantial solid structure... @jjraak

Some logs for the fire from the garage forecourt for Mrs Miggins?

I went out early this morning to collect a couple of last-minute things. It was really dark and there was a very heavy mist. But, before I finished getting my stuff, there was suddenly a very a high wind with a heavy rain including snow, sleet, and hail, which came from nowhere. I was only in it a minute to get back to the car. I had to abandon getting my fresh baked bread at the Polish shop, and my unpasteurised milk and just come straight home...I was wet to the bone and it was a painful cold feeling, despite having a waterproof jacket on.

Been asleep in bed last few hours. Midnight sleeping on me. I am so glad I can stay inside the next few days in my hermitage.

Just seen Ghost Ginger cat. He is totally soaked and bedraggled. I had put some food out earlier on a raised surface. But he had to wade through the paddling pool that surrounds my bungalow when we have excessive rain...

I hope you all manage to avoid the rain...

Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen and those of indeterminate gender.

A 7.6 on that meter this morning.

As I said yesterday my Christmas started yesterday hence the 7.6 this morning, at 8:54am today I was sitting in the supermarket koffy shop drinking safety koffy, Mrs J wisely decided that my help would not be required shopping, but my presence was.
Approximately 30% of the customers were wearing Christmas jumpers, fortunately they were also wearing other items of clothing as well, aren’t these jumpers wonderful.

I did get into a little trouble at the checkout, not with the checkout operator and her colleague, but with another customer. Let me try to explain.
There was a lot of friendly chatting going on between the checkout operators and myself, with the checkout operators saying if I carried on I would get arrested to which I asked innocently and in a hopeful manner “ would this involve whips and handcuffs? “, the checkout operators burst out laughing, the previously mentioned customer did not appreciate the question or the reaction from Mrs J and the checkout operators . Ah an excess of woke, never mind and me, me’s and myself certainly don’t mind.

Now stay safe, stay warm, stay dry. Make the most of today it’s all we can hope for.

You should carry smiley stickers and award them - different colours and facial expressions as appropriate (good job I saw that ‘facial’ had been inadvertently changed to ‘fecal’ - who writes these spell checking programmes?).

Brilliant, absolutely brilliant.

Cordwangle oh me dearios - last used OCT 15 2018 - a quick google took me to the very post and brought back memories (5.3 that day, meh). @dunelm thank you for sharing the latest enhancement to your art and best wishes for log hunting. @gennepher thank you for the creative. @Annb hug for the unequal struggle between your body and cleaning. There will still be cleaning a plenty for us all long after we've shuffled off this mortal coil. @Krystyna23040 I hope you have a wonderful time in Holkham. Will there be walks on the beach - must be a fair few steps from that Hotel? I may have a Christmas Eve wander around Winchester Cathedral then back in time for lunch. Milton Keynes looks far more picturesque in the semi dark with rain reducing visibility. Hope you all had a spiffing day and have already put the sprouts on to boil if you are traditionalists.

The grandchildren are really looking forward to walking on Holkham beach Christmas morning.

They did say to me 'Grandma, you do know that we are not going swimming in the sea'. Obviously they thought that they were much more sensible than Grandma.

Good morning everyone from the quiet peace before the day walkers awake and start handing out lists of demands. All is safely gathered in as it were and Mrs Miggins and the girl in the bubble are safely stashed in their warm beds at present while I enjoy a mug of pre-koffy tea. My sister in France was taken home yesterday to be in her own home for Christmas, which is nice. Her daughter is with her and our mother will go round, Darlek like this morning on her mobility scooter. A nurse will call in twice a day. A bit of quiet reflection early this morning as I read a bit of C. S. Lewis and thought about the current circumstances that in a way mean that some folk are finding that they are not having to struggle in overcrowded shops to the tune of the shopkeepers who wave “Things [that] are given as presents which no mortal every bought for himself”. Anyhow, enough of this light hearted banter. Art bit - the final bit of detailing and a bonus card. I hope that you all have a most wonderful Christmas Eve day and that you and yours are as well as can be. I really do now need some koffy.

Lovely robin!

Merry Christmas to you and your family, and especial hugs for your sister....

A peaceful Christmas Eve to you all. These days the Elves check access and behaviour for Santa and if all is good they leave boxes with pyjamas, books, cups for morning milk and Christmas books. I know this because an excited little girl told JKP and myself several times. @dunelm winner and hug for all that is and isn't said and felt so deeply in that post and art. Thanks for sharing both pieces of art and reminding me of how much I like C S Lewis, at some obvious emotional cost. Peace be with your sister and all those sharing this poignant time with her. @gennepher thank you for sharing the creative and video. The creative isn't wholly in the bleak midwinter but very like I imagine Narnia in the full clutches of Jardis. However and wherever you spend today stay safe. Today's Advent poem.

Thank you @ianpspurs

Hi Ian.
The creative was how I felt yesterday and last night when I got totally wet through with the squall of rain, snow and sleet. I changed as soon as I got home, got in bed, put oil radiator on, and electric blanket, but 12 hours later I was still cold inside. Finally this morning I warmed up, nearly 24 hours later.

Midnight never left my side during all that time @ianpspurs

Merry Christmas Ian and a peaceful 2023.
