What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

An eventful 24 hours. Mr K was still suffering from the after effects of the cold we had last week. He was a lot better then suddenly he started running a high temperature and was very chesty. GP couldn't see him and advised him to double his asthma meds. Covid test was negative.

At 6am this morning we rang 111 as this wasn't working. They were brilliant and got a doctor to ring us. The doctor sent a prescription for antibiotics electronically to our local pharmacy - which I picked up 20 minutes later. What a relief.

I hope the antibiotics work well and quickly for Mr K. Hug for him and for you with all the stress when you are/were looking forward to some well deserved down time. If such a thing exists in Krystyna world. Excellent service from your GP.

Hope the antibiotics work quickly and Mr K feels a lot better very soon. Bad enough any time, but worse at Christmas.

A nasty and pernicious infection is circulating @Krystyna23040 and causing a lot of damage especially if like Mr K and myself, you have asthma. My usual Revlar inhaler which has a bigger steroid load than a Clenil Preventer has not budged it. Spoke to my asthma nurse yesterday and told her that a spare Clenil preventer that I had stashed was doing the trick and she OK’d that for the winter months - it’s improving considerably.

Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen.

Blood sugars this morning were 6.0 . That’s enough of that.

Well fellow posters and painters, have a great festive season and a profound thank you for putting up with my diatribe over the past year, if it brought a smile or maybe a little chuckle so much the better.

We are children of the universe, who knows about creation, the big bang, cold dark or hot dark matter, evolution, if the universe was made in seven days just how long were the days, remember time is not a constant, according to one school of thought the big bang was more a slow fizzle, questions, questions and more questions we just have get on with our lot.
I’m not being profound, just pragmatic in my own way.

For those who need support over this season, hugs aplenty.
Remember a big thank you to all.

Thank goodness @Krystyna23040
Hope that works now x

With an FBG of 7.1 yesterday morning
I doubt I'll be getting any lower scores the next few days.
So I'll be relaxing, chilling & enjoying the season.

I hope you all do too.

Just wanted to say thank you to all ..

...for sharing your ups, your downs, the offers of guidance and support to each other, & the large portions of laughter and smiles many of your posts caused throughout the year ....& all shared so freely on this, the most marvelous little slice of the forum.

God Bless you all.

Merry Christmas everyone. I know those who must calculate insulin dosage need to test but what's the excuse for the rest of y'all? @dogslife wonderful to hear from you and have a safe and happy time yourself. 3.30 start here with two members of the Elf Squad - mum and dad did talk one back to bed at 12.45. Some wonderful memories for the Elf Squad, their parents, great grandmother plus JKP and myself. Here is a poem for Christmas day and a longer one here - some will appreciate the art. Parts of today or the coming days may allow a period of quiet reflection, The Milton one is actually the one in Guite's anthology. @gennepher such a wonderful creative and words. So colourful and cheerful. Thanks to you and I'm sure we all wish you the same. However you spend the day, so be it.

Good morning everyone and a very Merry Christmas to you all from us folk here in the dark and dangerous north. The clock is ticking and no matter what the day brings, I hope that you take and enjoy the very best of it; nod, smile and always push forth your empty glass for a refil. Art bit finished on time so it’s time for a koffy before murdering sprouts and boiling the pud.

Thank you for sharing that majestic, mysterious masterpiece. What's around the corner apart from 2023? What to drink is a dilemma. Medieval Monks were on a gallon of Ale per day supplemented by wine. Yorkshire tea (why do that, we raised you better than that :D ) certainly doesn't agree with Hampshire water. Local Waitrose is shut and can't get a delivery today - omnishambles. Impossible for anyone to spoil koffy for me. Even Nespresso works. Red wine may be a safe choice but not as a straight sub for my 750 mls mugs of tea. The single malt and brandy I tasted for my son aren't to be taken in litres by neverwasers like me.. You too make the most of any opportunities for enjoyment.

A very Happy Christmas to you all from a very quiet Cumbria.

The turkey is in the oven, but there is no way we can eat 5lbs if turkey between two of us this pm, besides Cumbrian sausage plus all the rest of it....it is best shared ...even the sprouts .

We shall look in on the net to
St James in the City of Liverpool where Helen is taking part in the service at 10:30.
Over in York, Abigail will ring us later and we will chat with Dylan our grandson.

Shalom
Derek

Good happy Christmas Day Morening Ladies and Gentlemen

Blood sugars this morning were……..and tomorrow will be………..also.

Please have the best day you possibly can, in an effort two enter into the festive spirit I might smile and not bark at the post man.
Now if you don’t mind I’m going to make safety koffy then attempt to prepare the sprouts, confession they make excellent bubble and squeak.

Cheers as I will raise a glass of red to you all tonight.

Hampshire water may or may not need Twinings Assam. A little boy lost certainly does. Dry stone walls, sheep and cricket - no stereotypes then?
