Keep up the tea total fluids and hopefully nothing sinister is lurking in your system. No meals today. Left eating too late yesterday and couldn't face it in the end. Still feeling as though I've eaten too much. Just drinks - of which I must make an effort to increase. Mouth and throat very dry despite drinks so I guess I might be in for something. More fluids - that's the answer.
BG was 11.2 at 1.45 am and rose to 14.2 by 5.25. Took some insulin to claw it back and eventually got it to 8.6 by 10.15. Dropped to 4.9 by 1.15 and after a cup of tea, it spiked at 10.1. Currently 9.6.
Sounds like a lovely day, Wells is a lovely place. Hope Mr K is improving all the time. Looking at the Ts and Cs of The Victoria his recovery is a double bonus. Enjoy the rest of the time in Holkham and a safe journey home tomorrow.Another lovely day with the family. Breakfast then a lovely walk around Wells. Bright and sunny but a bracing cold wind. Lunch back at the Victoria (I had sea bass and celeriac chips) then a long walk around the grounds of Holkham Hall.
We have walked just over 9 miles so far today. Have retired back to our rooms for a snooze before more food at 8.15pm.
Yes, Mr K is improving all the time. He isn't coughing or wheezing at all now - even on our bitterly cold walks. It is such a relief as I was really worried about him.Sounds like a lovely day, Wells is a lovely place. Hope Mr K is improving all the time. I hear that, Genn.Thank you Ian.
We all appreciate something different.
A day of peace and solitude (from people) is my pleasure.
But it includes the busy nighttime wildlife here, which was intensely noisy outside last night. I fell asleep with my cochlear processor on, and it woke me up.
Not looked at the wildlife camera yet...
A people day is planned later this week @ianpspurs
If you have four legs does it halve the distance?Yes, Mr K is improving all the time. He isn't coughing or wheezing at all now - even on our bitterly cold walks. It is such a relief as I was really worried about him.
16 year old Archie has also done well to walk 9 miles today.
Depends how long they are.If you have four legs does it halve the distance?
Yes, it definitely does. Archie actually looked less tired than me by the end of the walk.If you have four legs does it halve the distance?
Soho looks good... I was about 17 years old the last time I went there and I saw the Hollies come out of one of the vintage type clothing shops @jjraakI hear that, Genn.
My ideal one would have been everyone off to their place of choice .
Me, left alone, some alcohol, some snacks foods & a few good movies and one good book .
But as you say, each to their own .
Yesterday was out with girls to my FiL's...nice day but as @ianpspurs mentions it's the company not the food, not matter how nice it was .
FBG this morning if 6.4...ok
Out to Chinatown, Steph, Lauren & me .
So much nicer then my last two Christmases.
Very nice afternoon.
An off piste day, with a very naughty chocolate drink at cafe Italia, Soho .
A few pics below.
Best wishes all.

Brrrh! Lovely winter sceneFbg 6.8
Just eaten something different for breakfast, it was a hot soy cereal drink, just add hot water. Easy and gentle on the stomach while I take my morning meds. Will check in a couple of hours the bg. I usually eat a bit of protein before taking my meds, but my stomach always yells NOOOO at me.
Fingers crossed this doesn't raise bg, or is only minimal.
Wildlife nighttime camera...
Cat Jade's night on the swing - Cats & a Fox
Cat Midnight - patrolling
Cat Jade - on the swing
Ghost Cat - I have just recently realised there are two ghost cats. Actually there are 4 Ghost Cats, but two only go to the kitchen door to be fed, they don't come in the back garden. I left the wildlife camera on during the day, one particular day, and it was very obvious. There were two different cats. They're both ginger cats, but they appear white on the nighttime camera. One of the ghost cats is bigger and has more definite markings which cannot be seen on the night-time camera, but the end of his tail does have some distinct rings, which do show up on the nighttime camera.
Fox - the one I call Foxy Loxy has now taken to stealing the foil containers I leave the cat food in. I did have proper cat food containers, but Foxy Loxy aims his 'messages' into them after he has eaten. I got fed with sterilising and cleaning them. And also was stealing the proper cat food containers. I don't know where he leaves them because they are not in my back garden...does he think if he takes them back to his den then food magically appears in them?
Creative is a digital painting of a winter scene.
Time for a cuppa c(__)

Thanks @ianpspursGreetings everyone on the Feast of St John, Apostle and Evangelist and/or Boxing Day pt ii (the revenge of the leftovers?) Assam tea to fortify this raggedy tent for the trek East. The Little Donkey didn't have heated seats, sat nav, Alexa and a route planned around Starbucks. Isn't the deceptive illusion of progress is beguiling? Smile and wave folks, smile and wave is very tempting. A feast of pork here yesterday so thanks be to God, a certain local butcher and my son. Loin of pork can actually be edible - who knew? @gennepher I hope the soy drink works well and thanks for your creative. As with some of the poets in the anthology I read in Advent you see hope and find colour and brightness in winter. Autumn and winter signify the year aging and dying which doesn't appeal to me anymore than my own aging or all the fraying tents I see regularly. Wonderful as it is, if all this feasting and family time is ephemeral. If that is all there is it's a bit hollow for me. Some will doubtless pity me: If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied. No hugs needed here folks. Have a poem while I imagine the meditate on the immensity of what it means that the choir in Winchester Cathedral were but a pale imitation of the music those shepherds heard and how that means I can take pleasure in all this ephemera. Enjoy your day whatever the size, condition, colour or location of your tent (2 Corinthians 5:1)
Looking more dizzying @dunelmGood morning everyone and welcome to another day in paradise, especially here in the dark and dangerous north. Smashing day yesterday and a walk round town and over to peer down and count the surfers, paddle boarders and canoeists taking advantage of the day. Good job I had my radar key on me mind as the only shop in town open was Sainsburys and it’s too small a branch to have ‘facilities’. Remains of the day consumed in a Boxing Day dinner so we are very pleased that helpings from the Christmas feast are not being dragged out until New Years Eve when anything left will run and jump into the bin of it’s own accord. The Ninky Nonks and Little Miss Pamplemouse will be here later for a couple of days. It was their other grandparents turn for Christmas this year so we are looking forward to seeing them. Art bit - started adding some details but got distracted so not much done. Never mind. Hope you all have a grand day of it - don’t stray too near those shops dangling shiny tat at knock down prices, they have their own gravity. Koffy, must drink more koffy.

What a strange thing to do... Mmhhthe one I call Foxy Loxy has now taken to stealing the foil containers I leave the cat food in. I did have proper cat food containers
Not sure if intended, but as a metaphor for aging, that is pretty evocative once I processed it.Autumn and winter signify the year aging and dying which doesn't appeal to me anymore than my own aging or all the fraying tents I see regularly
I would have thought so @jjraakWhat a strange thing to do... Mmhh
I imagine foil resting against it's teeth might have the same effect it has on ours. < Shudder >
And such a rude fox to plop where the food was.
