What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Please get some Viscotears, it's possible to damage your cornea even by your eye lashes rubbing on your eyes

As has been mentioned - viscotears - I used to get them on prescription but due to cuts/covid/Brexit/strikes/rumors of royal rows etc., I now buy my own.

I never believed those who said how horrible previously beloved treats now tasted until now. Not too sweet, just a hideous aftertaste in general. One exception is the single After Eight I tried - well worth the 5.8/9 carbs for me
Salted caramel ice cream is my downfall and After Eights. I had also forgotten how much nicer 75% chocolate is than 100%.

I think one of my initial problems with LC was reading how food items which clearly tasted divine to me were either "not food" or something e.g back then Montezumas/Absolute Black/Halo Top (hideous) tasted better. Lower carb and equally enjoyable are not the same. Obviously some people do enjoy the higher percentage chocolate more but one can't extrapolate from that into a golden rule. As the alcohol ads say, enjoy responsibly (but always be honest with yourself)
30% carbs in this versus 74% in After Eight. May be an idea - no guide but I find the G and B acceptable.

Green and Blacks dark mint chocolate bar looks like a good swap. Thank you @ianpspurs

Is this where you are going to stay in Scotland?
Enjoy your long weekend break @dunelm

It is. From my kitchen window I can see across fields to Broad Bay and the Minch beyond and on a good day, the hills on the mainland with the light and then the sun coming up. Even more spectacular when the mainland hills are covered in snow.

we are off to Oban tomorrow and then up to Fort William
Enjoy your north of the border break. Not an awful lot to do in Oban last time I was there. But it's attractive. Fort William is pretty good for shopping (at least, it is if you are used to the standard of shops on the Islands) and the scenery is spectacular with the hills, the loch and, of course, Ben Nevis. Wouldn't try to climb it though - bad time of year for that.
