What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Had an accident on the way home from Norwich. Really shaken up but luckily no one injured.

It was my fault and I can't believe I could have done it as I am such a careful driver. The lorry driver was just so nice about it and stayed with me until a friend could get Mr K there and drive me and my car home.
Hugs to you and hats off to the lorry driver.
I defined accidents as “ If you could walk away from it, it was a good one “ metal and plastic can be repaired, the human body not so easily.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen a trifle nippy here in Tilehurst Towers.

Blood sugars this morning were 5.1 hmmm.
As I’m going to be working outside I’d better be careful with my insulin dosage.

Well fellow posters and painters Sunday is supposed to be a day of rest, yeah right!

Stay safe and warm, now if you don’t mind I am going to complete my leg exercises while drinking safety koffy, plinky plonky is part done

Morning all as we, if only virtually, join each other on this section of the pilgrimage. Always better when companioned. Since yesterday was bright blue skied and clear all day this morning was very much like this - the less dewy eyed version of all those gooey photos. @Krystyna23040 hug for the accident and impact on your inner calmness but winner for the safe outcome and sound night's sleep. Not by chance that Mr K is the one for you one feels. @Annb hug for the pain and potential impact on bg managemenet. @dunelm thanks for sharing the new artwork and lovely story of seeing the man in the pub. Nice little insight into who you are and what you are about. Wonderful aroma from the trivet and beef when I cam downstairs. Initially a divine smell from long slow, gently roasting garlic which morphed into an almost spiritual fragrance of beef. Thanks be to God for the wonder and love of His creation and His blessing upon us as a family. Thanks to the animal for giving its life for our food and all involved in doing His work so we may share His bounty. May be more later but grandchildren have arrived for family swimming and lovely as y'all are you don't cut it in comparison - no offence intended.
Thanks @ianpspurs - beef, smashing. I ‘found’ a couple of bavette steaks in the freezer last night so that’s dinner sorted.

FBG (3.30 am) 13.7 - that's on the Libre - 15.9 on the fingerprick.
Barely able to hobble around and in really serious pain so I took a larger dose of painkillers to try to deal with it. Tried to sleep in my big chair but started to feel really ill and decided to go back to bed. Managed to sleep for another 3 hours.
BG at 7 am 14.6 (Libre) - didn't check with fingerprick, but assume it must mean about 16.6 - the readings are about 2 whole points different at the higher levels (0.2 at lower levels).
Took a correction dose to bring it down and some water. 8.8 at 8.50 am.
That's quite a different pattern from the last 2 days, but we'll see how it goes during the day.
Had breakfast insulin, bacon and egg. Meant to have some baked beans and took sufficient insulin to cover that, then forgot to heat them. So I finished off with a slice of toast and a glass of coconut milk. Libre just beeped at me and told me BG was 3.8 - that means it's really about 4.0. Need to watch it. Now must get myself organised for a Zoom meeting at noon - and here's me still in my dressing gown!

On the Wildlife Camera...
Fox & Cats
Mostly the fox tonight.
Cat Merlin licks his lips (nervously).
Ghost Cat#1 walks past several times during the night.
Cat Jade pays a few nightly visits (I've just shown one), to feed on the cat biscuits on the swing.
Cat Merlin finds it hard to sleep in peace. The camera sensor lights up at any movement, and he is constantly trying to work out who or what it is...
Ghost Cat#1 is often the last visitor of the night...

Creative is a digital painting begun in ZenBrush3 and finished in Procreate... blooming heck, I have been working (playing on this), since I finished my Skype call with my daughter in Australia four and a half hours ago...what! How on earth did I do that? It is more than time to get on with the day and do mundane stuff...

Midnight is obvious to me, but I keep losing Jade in this painting, and I know where I put her!

Time for a cuppa...

Have a good day...

Seems whatever got MrSlim has now got me. Unpleasant smptoms are probably not connected to covid jab. Feeling bit groggy still this morning.
After multiple conversations we have arrived at an itinery for our trip to UK. No need to book the extra day after all as Son1 will be unable to get time off at the weekend. Arriving Sunday so straight to visit grandkids. Son2 probably there as well. Pop in to see brother who lives few minute drive away? Then up to Midlands to see Mum two nights. Visit friends who live nearby as well. Maybe will visit Son1 on tues - not ideal as we once again zig zag across country, but good chance to persuade sons 2&3 to join us there for Lunch on Weds. Hotel in Portsmouth on weds night, morning ferry home. Phew!
Have friend coming to feed kiki, but am getting concerned that Kiki might not come to her when called. She is not always prompt to respond to us. Unlike Errant who would wait on the doorstep. Kiki hides and has recently taken to wandering further afield. Out of our land.
Errant spent years wandering and was so happy to have a homebase he hardly ever left. For Kiki its exciting to explore and she has no idea how many dangers there are for a small cat. It is still hunting season, although we have seen very few this year. Maybe she should stay inside while we are away?

Edited to revise schedule. Yet again!
Some days had to be changed. We were both sure return ferry on Friday. But is actually on Thursday. Thankfully MrSlim booked hotel by date so it is correct.

Amazing how one can lose track of time when engrossed in something. Thanks for sharing the creative. The attached may not fully convey what I saw as a dragon's head and neck in this piece. Goodness knows how dragons came into my head. Presumably I have looked up from watching sport on this and glimpsed something JKP and MIL or grandchildren were watching. Goes to show however careful one is even loved ones can still make life problematic. Forget the mundane for today there will be whatsit loads of that again tomorrow.

Well I hope that this all goes well for you both - don’t forget to pick up a souvenir sink

With the amount of whizzing about the country will be no time for shopping. Exception the promised trip to garden centre with Mum.
Now we just need all the people involved to fall in line and agree to our plans. Fingers crossed.

Yes Ian, I can see them!
I can also see a badger I did not deliberately put in the painting!

For me @SlimLizzy for those few days I would keep Kiki in the house.

Really, I don't know about that, perhaps young men. Most men I know are very tolerant but they are mainly old men! :);)
I know some young men (well, I'd call them young) who would be very tolerant in most situations. I've known a few older ones who wouldn't be. Comes down to individuals again.
