What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

I am giving you a winner and not a hug. Because you have pushed through things to go places and do things before, when you knew it was too much in the past, and yet you did it.

You are not chickening out, there comes a point when there's some things able-bodied people can do that people with various problems will not have the energy/stamina/or are able to actually negotiate the terrain to be able to reach these places.

Able bodied people do not and cannot see what they might perceive as 'simple' obstacles and we disabled (for want of a better word), just need to try that bit harder, but those 'simple' obstacles are just not feasible with the mobility problems we have and the amount of energy we have to expend to try and attempt them. Most likely a lot of us were a lot more able bodied in the past, and so we berate ourselves for not being able to manage it now.

I know I do this...

You said you managed one day last year, but were too exhausted to do the second day. That was brilliant you managed that one day last year. This year, you realise, from what you have said above, that it is not really feasible. And your compromise is making the food and have Neil take it in. Let them know in advance your problems in attending, and that this is what you will do - send in some food.

You are amazing - remember that @Annb

Thank you for your encouragement and support I have sent an e-mail to let the organiser know that I will send Neil in with food but he will not be bringing me. I do feel a bit guilty for not supporting the event but, it's just not going to happen in that venue. Trouble is, in Stornoway, venues are very limited and the one that really is accessible is usually fully booked.

And to think, at one time I walked miles, clambered up and down rock faces, carried heavy weights - and probably hardly ever gave a thought to those who couldn't. Even my "disabled" brother who had a heart problem and a shrivelled left arm, didn't need or want support - he was stronger, faster and tougher than me anyway. To be fair, I don't remember, apart from my brother when he was very young, ever seeing anyone in a wheelchair, or struggling to get about. Maybe then accessibility was so bad that people stayed indoors (as I do now). It's only since I started working with disabled students that I began to realise that there were issues to be resolved. We formed a committee at the College to enhance accessibility - more than half of the committee were in wheelchairs and we could see the problems as we walked around the campus - everything from the positioning of buttons on the lifts to fire safety. So many things were wrong. It all needed fixing - and to give the college its due, most was done (they wouldn't change the lifts, which were fairly new, but we did insist that they were kept in better condition).

Good to see you posting & with such good humour .

But sorry to hear m'lady is still suffering .

Not sure if serious, but Stallone never made it to Californian governor..

And best known for "A-d-r-i-a-n-n-e I love you "... when he wasn't destroying the NVA single handedly or small US town sheriff's departments....

But I'm glad you're embracing Arnie's best remembered lines.

And on the off chance he does appear, please forget I ever thought about trying to baggsie them first

"Now...give me your clothes "...

6.3 today.
Having to get used to new routine now on waking check blood sugars then breakfast eat some then take pirfenidone for IPF then eat some more take rest of morning meds and last but not least coat myself with factor 50 sun blocker as pirfenidone makes you extremely sensitive to sun light even when indoors.

Actually managed to get out of the house again yesterday walked to the corner then down the back lane came back into the house through back gate.

Was watching the news the other day and they did a piece about when Santos played Plymouth Argyle fifty years ago showing the crowd one of whom was a 23 year old version of me. Unfortunately I didn't manage to get Pele's autograph.

Well done on the walk .

Hard that the lotions needed indoors.

And what a nice memory

I'd second all of that.

No point making the journey when the effort debilitated you so much last time

And sad, but the very reason for being there this year again,
Is the very reason that you couldn't be there this year,
shows just what an uphill struggle this all is & how far we need to go.

And @Annb agree fully.

I was one such person.

It took being extremely limited to see just how hard, daily life can be, just managing so called 'simple' things.

I'm blessed that I've somewhat recovered a lot of lost mobility, but others aren't so blessed.

I'd say anyone in a position to implement or deny such policy decisions, must HAVE to spend a week or so restricted to a wheelchair, noise restricting headphones or a blind, (disability dependent)

If they can then navigate their local authority area successfully during that time, then they'd KNOW how much easier they have made or just how much more they need to do to make life easier for those who need the help most.

Sadly they likely won't.

My iPad was too full to download today's wildlife nighttime sd cards.

I have been uploading much stuff on the wildlife cameras to YouTube to Private videos. I didn't want to lose the video clips I have been watching from my back garden. But some days I have been exceeding my upload quota. I did that this morning, and so when I came to upload the sd cards of last night, iPad said tough, not enough space. So then I uploaded more videos to YouTube private section to free iPad space. Then YouTube said tough luck you have exceeded your daily quota of uploads...

So this video is one I made earlier, maybe 2 months ago, and it has been sitting in YouTube private videos! So, I made it public! it is just cats and Merlin on the swing...

I have been doing this YouTube uploading in the early hours because it seems to be much faster then...

Cat Merlin on the swing
Merlin looks a bit more vulnerable here, he looks more assertive recently.
Also Merlin is asleep on J's and Meg's bench outside my front window next to me. I am on the warmer inside of the window.

Creative is a wee little lamb digital painting...

And I am ready for an afternoon nap...

Have a good rest of the day...

Hi guys, had my pacemaker changed yesterday and back home from Newcastle this pm.

A good job over with and they threatened to keep me in with high b.p. but eventually I got out at lunch time today.

Staff very helpful but having pace changer box changed whilst one is awake, tests ones nerves.

Very tired today so see you tomorrow when I feel better.
A.t.b.

A bit high this morning at 8.3. Ate late for me as classes don't finish until 6pm and was too tired to go for an after dinner walk. I knew it would affect fbs but am shocked by just how much, especially as I had already done 13K steps.

Off to Sheringham Park shortly. Has been raining but now there are rays of sunshine coming through the clouds.

Champion - pleased for you that it went well.

I am glad it went well @lindisfel

Take it easy today x

Good morning everyone on a nice sunny start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. Today is the day when men and boys panic buy flowers and mothers still get to play with vacuum cleaners and potty training. So, all the very best to mothers everywhere and those who aspire to motherhood even though it’s badly paid and we may end up having to call it something else when out in public in case it offends just one person on the planet who may or may not have serious issues as yet undiscovered. We are going over to our daughters later this morning for brunch, prepared of course by son in law. Hopefully the garage conversion will be finished today - just some electrics to finish and then we can splash some paint about once the plaster has dried. Art bit, completing the detailing. Have a smashing day if you can. I now need some koffy and to await the arising of Mrs Miggins.

Morning all from a damp Little America, how you 'doin? FBG 5.4 - I'll focus on the 99% overnight SpO2 instead. Restaurant meal for JKP and 93 YO MIL today - treat from 2 sons/grandsons. Eating out isn't my thing, especially with Elsie tagging along but menu seems doable. Can't see any salad but there is salmon or steak without too many baddies. JKP slept poorly - the two day after impact from Thursday's physio - so is sleeping on. First Swipey since my treatment and more gut friendly regime so only one day's data - careful with the conclusions son. BUT .... microbiome friendly meals - including seemingly carby toast with thinly spread (organic, no palm oil) crunchy peanut butter left Swipey calm as a mill pond. Superbeet Kimchi, cheesey coleslaw and mackerel in evo gave a nice dip but the lowest carb sausages I could find with 2 fried eggs produced a rise of about 1. I have never really trusted Elsie Highfat* as being MY best choice and the stakes are pretty high now. @lindisfel so glad you are home and can hopefully recuperate well. @dunelm thanks for the art. Good news on the speedy garage conversion and enjoy the brunch. @Krystyna23040 hug for tiredness but enjoy Sheringham Park. @alf_Josiah and Mrs A J I hope recovery continues. To everyonne else Y'all have a great day even in parts.
Edit * Commonly followed added fat, mucho meat version. I "get" those choices are higher % fat than orthodoxy dictates.

Thank you @ianpspurs. Hugs for JKP’ missed sleep and enjoy that family lunch. Are there any sausages lower in carbs than Heck?

Thank you on behalf of JKP. Carbs in sausages? Heck 1.2 gms per 100; Black Farmer premium 1.00 gm per 100; Waitrose No 1 1.1 per 100 gms. Local Sainsbury's (full of men and kids buying flowers) sold out of Heck pork so I had Black Farmer. No surprise my fave are Waitrose. Black Farmer and Waitrose have dextrose, Heck have sugar. Heck have most salt, Waitrose the least - my taste buds told me that anyhow.. O/t (ish) JKP and MIL had bacon. MIL prefers smoked - that stuff absolutely stinks and I'm guessing is like eating salt - not even pink Himalayan either. If it has kept her going this long what do I know, what do I know?

I took it at dawn, but I had been awake since just after midnight, and was nibbling dark chocolate digestives...I was stressed...

Still having YouTube upload problems. It is still telling me I have reached my daily upload limit from a couple days ago.

So in the early hours this morning I click on the link it gives me. I have to verify I am me, but that still wasn't enough. I now have to verify my channel. That still wasn't enough.

Now, YouTube wants ID verification before I can upload any more videos.

3 options it gave me.
One was I had to give a facial recognition video.
Two was take a photo of my drivers license and they will hold that in their records.
The third one was something else ... and I am like heck no...

Right, I am going to delete my YouTube channel was my next thought.

I googled Google FAQ's at this point. A lot of disgruntled people. YouTube are making a lot of things very hard.

I give in. I opt for the facial recognition video. You had to centre your face in a circle. Face recognition failed it tells me - only one person allowed in the circle. I am on my own in bed. I check behind me, but it is just the wall with no decoration. I try again and again and again...face recognition keeps failing because I am only allowed to have one face in this shot.

I go and make a fresh flask of hot tea, this is going to be a very long night.

I try again. Facial recognition fails yet again because apparently there is another face in the shot...

Finally it decides I am the only face in the shot. You're too near. You're too far away. You're not centered. The list goes on. Finally the outer circle turns white - then it tells me to slowly turn my head to the right...which is right? I don't know at this point....I just turn my head.

Facial recognition accepted it says. You will hear from us in 24 hours...

So, I am still unable to upload another video yet.

But, I still have quite a few private uploaded videos from when I had more stuff from my posting my daily videos.
So, this one is from about a month ago...

It seems YouTube will allow me to make public my already uploaded private wildlife videos, but not upload any more until they verify me. I don't understand because I have already verified myself with phone number etc long ago.

Anyway, here is a video for today. From about a month ago...
Cat - The fearsome Cat, Midnight...
His first all night outside on the swing in a long time...and he bashes the poor fox...

Creative is a lighthouse, painted in Procreate. Gone are the sweet little sheep and lambs...in with the new phase lighthouses, maybe dark, maybe mysterious, maybe sinister...
I have a collection of postcards of lighthouses...maybe about a thousand or more...
I have the stories behind each one, and background information...
I once considered buying a small lighthouse to live in. I even got the keys to view it. I loved it. But this was when I was more able bodied. Rough waves would have washed over the entire thing...

I have just ranted at my daughter on Skype in Australia for an hour...you must have exceeded the number of videos and gb you could upload. I hadn't I told her. So she checks the limits on Google. No, you hadn't, she said, you barely touched the surface. So, it must be random checks by YouTube.
So, I say if they don't verify my channel, and I cannot upload any more, then I am deleting it. Daughter then comes up with a whole pile of other different options and strategies to show my wildlife nighttime videos. And they come with options to monetise them now. Whereas it would take me a year, or never to be able to monetise under the impossible new restrictions currently on YouTube.

So within 24 hours I should get an email from YouTube....

I badly need sleep now...Mr Sandman has just visited...

The living black fur blanket is on me...

Have your best day...

@gennepher thank you for battling through the nonsense and posting the video and creative. A different take on lighthouses to the previous artist. Good Mother's Day present from daughter Down Under. Side hustles are all the go these days - has a real person ever actually said all the go?
