I remember Helen singing the worms song at school. The worms post is no good without a song. @lindisfel - I'd check that delivery if it came from Amazon. Had you down as a really savvy guy.
I would sooner have a large fresh haddock in batter with chips.I would sooner trade them as fishing bait in return for a fresh caught trout @lindisfel
They both look in good health, Stardew!Hi all, complete forum newbie here, and as is my nature, I'm not dipping a toe in but am wholeheartedly throwing myself in.
Hello from Liverpool, and here are my cats. Everyone loves a pet photo.View attachment 60350
Definitely don't give in @Annb. It took me a while to come off insulin in 2016/17. It went brilliantly for a while and then it didn't work so I had to go back on both basal and fast acting insulin.11.2 this morning at 4.30. Still the same at 6.30 and at 8.30. It was all going so well a couple of weeks ago. Then I cut back on my basal insulin (which is what the diabetes nurse wanted me to do because she thought my BG was under too tight control) and now, even back on the pre change dose, BG won't come down to a reasonable (to me) level. I sometimes imagine that diabetes has an intelligence all its own and wants to control me. Shan't give in.
Whoop, Whoop.Just had to dash on here before the dog walk. 5.3 this morning. Am doing a happy dance.
Of course I know that I am not fully back to normal but am taking this as a sign that my liver and pancreas are improving and that I will be back into the normal for me 5s every morning - hopefully in the next couple of months.
It took one month of higher carbs to damage my liver and pancreas and two and a half months to bring the levels back closer to what they were before going off the rails
I must admit that I thought that I had done irreparable damage and am so pleased that it is repairing.
Hug for the impatient waiting for recovery....I felt that pain too clearly..Looks like another day of sunshine and showers in Cumbria very chilly yesterday with snow in the mountains but apparently Spring will be back next week.
I am hoping I can get over these back pains when I stand and walk for more than 20 mins because this garden will get out of hand. I still have to wait until my pacemaker wound heals.
I have started to push the cart round Lidl for Marjorie but diabetes plays me up with rapid rises and falls post prandial in bp and blood glucose so much so that it sends me to sleep after lunch each day.
I would be fine if I did not have to eat and low carb doesn't help me much.

I agree, it doesn't always feel friendly, does it.. I sometimes imagine that diabetes has an intelligence all its own and wants to control me. Shan't give in.
Hold up Derek....I reckon you could eat those worms?
Quick kill them in hot water, dry them after washing and mince them and press them into a burger and lightly fry them in olive oil
I should think they would be as good for one as prime steak fillet.
And very low carb!
Hope the day went well.Immunotherapy day yesterday - birthday cake baked by nurse for another regular but I politely declined. Fastest route now open but for all the road closure I can't say there was much improvement bar no dip deep enough for a bus to be stuck for days.
Thank you @jjraak . Hope to be visiting McGarrett Plains again in the near future.Whoop, Whoop.
Go ride dem waves....
The road in question meanders in and out of Suffolk and Cambs. There does seem to be a correlation between quality of road surface and local authority. No guesses for which I am convinced are best custodians of roads.Hope the day went well.
And budgets being used up ?
Funny how the time & effort of 'professionals' never sees much improvement or durability
Thank you @ianpspurs . It is good to know that I am Normal for NorfolkMorning all from a grey but dry start here where we await the threatened thunderstorms. The dogs and I await Stan, Stan the grocery man since JKP and MIL are having their usual Seniors slumber party*. I've taken them each tea and confirmed they are alive. Hugs for @lindisfel and @Annb. Happy dance time for @Krystyna23040 our exceptionally normal for Norfolk Duracel Bunnyfor McGarrett day. No grandchildren today which is both boon and blessing. I can't pretend the little guy and yours truly aren't especially close, probably more so since I know what I can't unknow. Indian Railway curry proved too much for JKP so some will disappear into a freezer. Bookmakers have closed the book on there being any likelihood of that ever being eaten. I freeze things I have liked mainly for the appearance of parsimony but Heraclitus was spot on. Immunotherapy day yesterday - birthday cake baked by nurse for another regular but I politely declined. Fastest route now open but for all the road closure I can't say there was much improvement bar no dip deep enough for a bus to be stuck for days. SSSF here so one assured point of pleasure. Enjoy your day.
*Stan squared and JKP appeared simultaneously at about line 5. She is now scanning and coding everything so I can finish, post and have another bucket of tea.
Hope you can get some relief from those back pains. Back pain can be so debilitating and limiting, especially when you are trying to get fitter. Our garden is now a wilderness. All that Neil has managed to do in the last couple of years is cut paths through the grass and lop bits off of trees. The rest is doing its own thing.Looks like another day of sunshine and showers in Cumbria very chilly yesterday with snow in the mountains but apparently Spring will be back next week.
